I have a Warentee, as the last person said this company tried to talk me into a mini split, but it wasn't covered. they tried to talk me out of the swamp cooler that I needed replaced. I called 10 times in 2 weeks, each time they offered to call me back, not once did they call. after about a month they ordered a swamp cooler and motor, but I have to come up with another$780 extra and they still arn't calling me back with a time to install it. DO NOT pay this company until the job is finished and the cooler works. they just keep raking in money but avoid any kind of work. the insurance company continues to tell me to call comfort control, they keep not getting back to me. Do they sound like crooks? they certainly act that way. I guess they will call when they don't have enough work, after the summer. their site has good reviews, did they stack the deck? don't be fooled like I was. they came right out to get the job, but gave nothing once they got it. save yourself some grief and go with another company. read more

Boy do I wish I could give zero stars here. The office was friendly and the tech came out within the week, but that's where all of the good things end. The AC tech told us we have a leaking evap coil, we're low on Freon and that he replaced the blower capacitor for us. When we went to get the other work approved, it added up to a ton of money because they said they had to come for all the electrical in the lines for the new coil to work with the new Freon available. When I spoke to a friend she confirmed that this sounded fishy and not what she's used to dealing with so I brought out another tech from a different company for a second opinion who went up in the attic and took pictures and showed us that the drywall was still sealed and the previous tech had never even opened up the area to get a good look at the coil so he couldn't have known it was leaking. Fast forward a month later and now the capacitor he installed is causing our fan to make horrible noises, that we will have only recently noticed because we don't spend a lot of time In our backyard when it's hot. Our new guy says it looks like it's the capacitor so I called this company to ask them to check their work they did and they refuse, telling me they will need to charge a service charge and that their notes don't even say they replaced the capacitor even though I have a paid invoice for it. I was steered to this mess of a service by a required home warranty service. I called with a heater problem and described the problem and the parts needed. They insisted on wasting time with on sight inspection and then said it would take weeks to order the common part. Took a whole day off work to meet with them at 8am and by 10am we had to call them only to find out the techs didn't show up to work that day. This company responded to my call the same day. Our furnace was blowing cold air and we have 3 kids and rwo dogs. Cecil came to our door. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was there 15 minutes, diagnosed the problem, got a part out of his truck and fixed it! Then he checked the rest of the system and changed out our filters. Thank you Comf. Control and Cecil! Now we have a maintenance contract and they will make sure we stay up and running in any Season! read more

Not surprised after reading some of the other reviews on this company. Do not do business with this company!!! Cecil is a con and a fraud and a sociopathic liar!! He tried to tell me that my unit had a leak and was going to fall through the roof therefore I needed other system. I am a single woman and I was disgusted that he would try to con me so blatantly. I did not choose this company my home warranty sent them out. Cecil took pictures of my system and he put a towel down in the pics to make it look like a leak. How do I know? I have pictures of the system taking just before by my home inspector and just to make sure he was indeed lying, I had my home inspector come back after his "assessment" and verify that there was no leak and my system was just fine. Because of Cecil I lost my home warranty which had another six months on it. Guess I will be seeing him in small claims court and he will need to defend himself to the BBB. I needed 3 heat pumps converted to one larger unit, pretty big job. I had 4 total bids and they were the least by $1,000. They also included some extra duct work and relocated the air handler. They completed it and our system passed the air test this week. No issues with these guys, very happy with the work, timing and price. The workers would very nice, even carried in some UPS boxes for us without us asking. I don't write many reviews but they deserve it. read more

It's been a year now and they still have not repaired my AC unit properly. First they made me wait about 3 months last summer while they were trying to get a part. Then they ordered the wrong part and did a monkey fix on the unit while they were supposedly ordering the correct part. Months go by and no word from them. I then call them again and they tell me that they need to send their tech back out because they did not list the correct part needed. Well now it's been a year a d still not repaired. Every time you call them they tell you they will need to research it and call you back but never do call back. The lady in charge of home warranty work ( Lindsey ) is the worst. You will never get a call back from her. I have even ask to have the owner call me a few times and again, they guarantee he will call you but never does. Comfort Control Heating and Air installed a new hvac system for our household. It was a smooth and professional transaction. Cecil sold us the package and was very straightforward and knowledgeable. He was a conservative salesman and spoke to our specific needs. No pressure or anything slick. If anything, we up-sold ourselves (lol) and purchased the platinum package. His crew was professional, courteous, and communicated well. They arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up when they were done. Prior to the new unit installation, I had used Comfort Control 3 other times over a prior 2 year span for repairs on my old system. All three of those repair jobs and transactions went equally as smooth. Good communication, efficient, and timely repairs. So the fact that I'm taking the time to write this review should indicate how unhappy I am with this company. I was referred to this company through my home warranty company and had the worst experience with them. They're completely unprofessional and after meeting the owner, it's obvious why. He was immediately condescending and rude. It took them weeks to replace our air conditioning system and required multiple follow up calls on our part. They missed appointments and wouldn't even bother to call to say they weren't coming or would be late. My brother owns a plumbing company and I have watched him and my sister-in-law run it with true professionalism over the years. This company could learn a thing or two from them. Our AC went out, we called our home warranty company who gave us a service date of two days out, we could not wait two days it has been triple digits and we have two young children. I decided to call the company they set the appointment with " Comfort Heating and Air" and see if they could come out any sooner. I called Comfort Control and explained my situation, they were very responsive and advised they would have Cecil come check it out that same day!!! This was an excellent experience these guys are Pros. They're very helpful of the customers needs while they're doing the install. My install was probably very difficult because of my attic space and my unit was very old. They did it all on time with no problems. Comfort Control Heating and Air was dispatched to my house through our home warranty due to the AC not working. The tech came out and said there was nothing he could to fix the unit because it was working great BUT I should pay him $248 to chemically clean the condenser coil (it was just cleaned a week prior by the company I work for, ACCO Engineered Systems) and I needed a bi-annual maintenance contract for $180 a year. Well needless to say the AC unit continues to fail daily by tripping the breaker (yes I already had a new breaker installed, the issue is with the AC unit) so I come home to an 85 degree house and a panting puppy. I've called and requested to speak with the service manager but haven't been allowed to do so. I've also worked in the service department for HVAC companies for the last 23 years so I know a thing or 2 about AC units. Very unhappy with this company and recommend everyone to steer clear. They won't fix your unit, only try to sell you on unnecessary things. The only thing they said they could was send a tech out again........um no thank you. Miss more work for your technicians to not fix the unit again? Wish I could give negative stars. read more

I work in the real estate business, so I know how useless home warranty companies can be. I feel a lot of people are taking out their frustrations on having spent money on a home warranty with unrealistic expectations. Anyway... MY experience with comfort control was amazing. I purchased a new heat pump system in 2016 (yes, I'm compelled now to write a review after reading all the poor reviews). So, there was equipment failure which was not the fault of Comfort Control. It was difficult to pinpoint the problem, but once diagnosed, it was determined that the air handler, which is in a very tight spot in my attic, needed to be replaced. They replaced the unit without complaint, and followed up several times to make sure it was working properly and I was satisfied. Every time they had to come out they arrived when scheduled or even called to see if they could come early. And throughout what was certainly a nightmare situation for them, they remained pleasant and professional. I'm giving Cecil and team at Comfort Control five stars for excellent customer service. read more

I would not reefer this company to anyone. I had my service with Comfort Control done over 5 years ago and to this day I can't get them to give me a final inspection I have called numerous times I could not get a hold of anybody for over 4 and a half years. Then I finally get a hold of somebody and the owner Cecil wants to give some excuse that he was going through a divorce and so he couldn't take care of his customers now I'm still being put on the back burner with no final inspection I was possibly going to sell my house which I can't do because I don't have a final inspection on work done on my house with an open permit this is ridiculous. 5 months ago I finally got somebody to come out only after an inspector had Corrections for them that he foud when Inspecting the solar I had put on my house. So they had to come out and fix the repairs the inspector wanted them to fix. Once again I was told 5 months ago don't call the inspection we will handle everything for you. Here I sit 5 months later going through it again this is by far the worst company and all of El Dorado County probably Sacramento County as well I wouldn't refer this company to anybody... And just to clear the error the only reason they have a one-star is because you would not let me not select a star read more

The only nice thing I will say about this company is that the woman in the front office was very nice and helpful. The technician, Cecil Sims (who brought along his adolescent twin sons) was terrible. They were assigned through my home warranty to check my air conditioner which was blowing warm air. First, I almost had to change my appointment because they were running late and I had a doctor's appointment. Not a big deal, I've dealt with enough contractors to realize being late seems to be a common theme. Then, after a few minutes of looking at the unit, he called me outside...this is a paraphrasing of our conversation: Tech: So, you were low on freon. Must be a leak somewhere.. Me: Ok... Tech: So, i put some freon in, and it should be working now. Me: Ok but, you're saying there is a leak somewhere, right? So what about that? Tech: I hear ya...I hear ya... Me: But...I mean you're telling me there's a leak, so are you going to fix it? Tech: Well, it's a slow leak...it didn't take much freon. Me: Well then if it didn't take much freon, why would that have caused the system to stop working altogether?? He then told me there is some kind of switch in the unit that shuts itself off when it loses suction..I don't know enough to refute that. He also told me several times that I should get on a regular maintenance plan, but I tried to ask him multiple times "How often do you recommend I get it maintained.." and he just kept saying "I hear ya..." It didn't even make sense. I finally said, "Ok, so you have NO recommendations??" And he said I should just call my home warranty whenever it stops working. When I pressed the leak issue, and said "well it's eventually going to stop working again.." He said I should call my home warranty when that happens. I replied that I don't want to go that route- it costs $60 just for them to come out and take a look...he continued to patronize me with "I hear ya..." Finally, as I was getting ready to leave for my doctor, he knocked on my door again and says "We have another problem. The txv coil is bad." He then explained that he had no idea how long it would take to fix, because first he had to call it in, get authorization from the warranty company, then order the part, and THEN make an appointment...could be two weeks or more. My home warranty stipulates that a contractor has to submit his report within 24 hours. Over 72 hours later, he STILL hadn't submitted his report. Further, the warranty company told us that he had told them to "wait until Monday to get our report, or find another contractor." After his patronizing attitude, incorrect first diagnosis, and general apathy, my husband and I agreed we did not trust them to fix the problem, and frankly, I didn't want him in my house again. We switched to Energy Experts in Folsom, and they were incredibly helpful. They informed us that Comfort Control actually pumped alot of unnecessary freon into our system, which will need to be reclaimed. The coil was confirmed to be the problem. At the end of our visit, they booked us the soonest appointment they could, even before they made the call to the warranty company. I will never deal with Comfort Control again. read more

This company installed a new heating & ac system in my home last year. Repeated calls to finalize the permit have been ignored. The only conclusion one can come to is that the install was substandard and not in accordance with city codes. In the process of filing complaints with State and City offices. Insurance claim denied on a ductless AC system. Joe the tech attempted to revive. Spent quite a bit of time for a service visit. Excellent service an rep for company. Few days later my main system went out. I called CC and spoke with Donna who because of calls, gave me the earliest appointment available. Unfortunately I was going without for a few days. I explained to her the last tech, Joe lived close by. I was willing to if necessary pay an additional fee. Donna said fee wasn't an option, however she would pass info over to Joe. Mid evening, I get a cell phone call. Joe is on the way. Until he told me he was Joe the AC guy I was thinking Who the hell is Joe? Sure enough Joe, figured out issue an went to work with his field bag. BAM! On goes the AC. Joe, provided some additional ideas an preventive measures to insure future operations. I contacted my home warranty company and within an hour they were able to schedule me an appointment with comfort control.I was a little skeptical at first given some of the yelp reviews but I decided to continue on. I received a call from comfort control and was given a time window of when they would be here.The technician was running a little late but they communicated that through their office, which was nice. Upon arrival the technician/owner Cecil took his time to diagnose the issue. We were experiencing heating issues, with only cold air coming through the vents when we were requesting hot air on the thermostat. Cecil was able to locate the problem and procure the part at a warehouse and repair the issue in a matter of hours. I didn't feel up sold in anyway, any sort of dishonesty or disrespect. Cecil was very professional and tended to the matter diligently to see that my pregnant wife was with great comfort in a warm house. read more

I called comfort control in June for a non functioning air conditioner. The repair man diagnosed a bad capacitator and fixed it. He was punctual, courteous and efficient and I have no problem with the actual repair. But in my opinion this company overcharges. It was a pretty simply repair, he was at my house for less than 30 minutes, and the bill was $357. ($89 for the diagnostic and $268 for the repair. ) I was stunned, and the repair guy told me that he does not set the prices (which is no doubt true) and that he could take the part out and charge me only for the diagnostic. At this point I felt a bit helpless, given I had not known what was wrong with the air con when I called and consequently could not have asked for an estimate on the phone. Firstly, I have never done business with a company that charges you for the diagnosis even if they themselves do the repairs on the same visit; and the repair itself for a minor job was exorbitant. When I expressed my sense of this to the owner afterward , he responded that this was the going rate and that other local companies charged over $400 for the same job. I can't know if that's true; perhaps there are companies even more outrageous in price than this one, but over the summer I had conversations with three neighbors, all of whom had the same job (replacing the capacitator) and I do know that none of them paid more than $195 for the job, and some less. I was eventually given a ten percent discount bringing the bill down to the $330 range, but I still feel seriously overcharged, and cannot recommend this company to anyone because of this experience.. read more

They delivered on everything we contracted for. Their installation crew was prompt, dedicated, courteous, and informative. They treated us as if we were royalty. I have been trying to get Comfort Control to repair my AC/heating unit since June. It has not been fixed properly and they are a deceitful and dishonest company. Stay away from this company even if your home warranty company like ours recommends them and states you must use them. Get another opinion if you have to use them because they are associated with your home warranty company. Ask your home warranty company immediately for a second opinion. I didn't even know that was an option for almost two months. Comfort Control said they could not diagnosis the problem until I had it cleaned. Then they charged me an exorbitant price to clean it. Then they repaired it and it still leaks. They even sunk as low as to call my daughter a liar. My bad for trusting this company and its staff. They are extremely unprofessional. read more

Zero stars. Unfortunately, I had to deal with them last year and this year. My experience is similar to the other bad experiences listed. Long story, short; last year we needed our air handler replaced, not only did it literally take them weeks, yes over 3 weeks to submit an estimate for repairs/replacement to the warranty company, they installed it improperly. They then charged the warranty company for labor and parts to come back and fix their mistakes and install it correctly! They blamed everyone under the sun for everything that went wrong. I fell for all the excuses and tried them again this year because the condenser now needed replacing. And wouldn't you know it, same thing happened. The warranty company called them for several days in a row, each time the call ended with a promise to submit an estimate, never happened. Warranty company suggested that we pull the job and choose another contractor. I probably wouldn't have given them another chance if I read their reviews first. I do not and will never recommend this company. On a positive note, we had one very knowledgeable, professional and friendly tech come out during this horrible experience. On Monday my air con stopped working and comfort controls was the third company I called. To be fair, the tech guy arrived on time, was courteous, and competent and fixed the problem, changing a bad capacitator. The reason for the unenthusiastic review is the exorbitant fee they charged --$357 for this job. Because a capacitor is a relatively inexpensive part, even when high grade, and because the entire fix seemed very straight forward and he had only been in the house for 1/2 hour, I felt it an exploitive amount; the tech guy (who does not set the prices and seemed to feel bad about it) offered to remove it. As I would still have had to pay $89 for his showing up, and didn't really know if such inflated costs were perhaps , as he assured me, industry wide, I didn't feel I had much choice at this point but to just pay it. He said he would talk to the owner about giving me a discount, and I wound up paying $330, which still seemed to me exorbitant. When I voiced this opinion to the spokesperson on the phone, she told me that other companies charge even more for this, some as high as 485. But the next day a neighbor who is fairly tech savy told me that another neighbor had just had the same job done for $170 with a different company (Alpine air). It seems that during extreme heat older capacitators commonly break down, and this is a fairly common fix. If money is no object to you, I think CCair service is okay--as I said, the tech guy was personable and competent, but in my view they charge inflated prices. and it's very hard to ask them the price ahead of time when you don't know what has to be fixed. (I tried to but the dispatcher had said "it depends") Perhaps they are not alone in this and my neighbors paying less than half for the same job the very next day is the exception; in which case, it is too bad when one needs air con repair. ( As it's only been a week I can't comment on whether they back up their work.) my three star review under the circumstances is erring on the side of generosity as I would not recommend this company to another person. read more
