My first visit to Comfort Day Spa in Brea was a disaster and I will never return. I did not receive what I paid full price for, and I was totally ripped off. It makes me wonder if it was just the therapist I had or if the reviews here on Yelp for this establishment are totally fake. I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Kiera. When Kiera met me at the beginning of our session, she specifically asked me where my problem areas were. I told her my neck, shoulder blade areas, and lower back and glutes. She said ok, then asked me to start the massage face up. I thought this was very unusual considering I had just indicated to her that my problem areas were on my backside so I thought I should lay face down to begin the massage, as I have always done in the 15 years I have been paying for massage therapy. Kiera then made it very clear that she has been doing this for 9 years and she knows what she is doing. I acquiesced. Kiera starts by grabbing a pressure point on my wrist, which was rather painful, and pokes around on my chest and arms. She keeps telling me to breathe deeply and relax. A lot of time passed, and I indicated to Kiera that her grabbing my wrist is painful, and that is making it hard for me to relax. She, again, insists that what she is doing is the right thing because, again, she's been doing this for 9 years. In fact, she tells me that if I'm feeling pain in my wrist where she is grabbing my pressure point, it must be because I have carpel tunnel syndrome. The fact of the matter is that I am not suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome, and she is grabbing my wrist in a painful manner, and did not stop even though I expressed to her that it was hurting me and making it impossible for me to relax. While still laying face up, I asked Kiera how much time I had left on the 90 minutes that I paid for, and she told me I had 45 minutes left. What? Really? I only have 45 more minutes in my session and I'm still laying face up? When I paid in full for a 90 minute deep tissue session, I must have made the mistake thinking that's what I would get at Comfort Day Spa. But no, I only received 45 minutes worth of deep tissue work when Kiera told me to flip over. At that moment, I indicated to her that I was not happy that I paid for 90 minutes and will only get 45 minutes. Kiera suggested I stop the massage. I said why don't we just make the best of the 45 minutes I have left. Of course, Kiera was discouraged and disinclined to give any more of her effort at this time in making things better for the rest of the 45 minutes. She really appeared lazy. At the end of the session, I told Kiera that I wanted to give her another opportunity to work on me so that I could come away from my experience at Comfort Day Spa a happy and satisfied customer. So I offered to book with Kiera again one week later at the same time, and pay full price again. I told her I would pay for the full 90 minutes this time even though I only got 45 minutes of deep tissue, but that I would withhold her tip for this session and give her double the tip for the next session. Most normal people would never even give this experience a second chance, considering the myriad of massage options in the marketplace, but I felt confident that Kiera would understand my needs to receive what I pay for the next time, and that I would leave very happy and satisfied (and would have definitely written a glowing and positive review for Kiera and Comfort Day Spa), and Kiera would make more than double the normal tip. Instead, Kiera rejected to see me again, because she's got too many established clients so she doesn't need to deal with anyone who comes away from the experience unhappy and dissatisfied. Sandra called and I explained to her that it was not an issue of pressure, but an issue of wasting time, she acted just like Kiera in telling me that she's had a successful business for a long time with numerous regular clients, strongly suggesting to me that losing me and my business is meaningless to her. I asked Sandra if it was important for her to have me come away satisfied, and she said no. I asked her if she was sure she didn't want a second opportunity to make things right, and she said yes. So, what I've concluded about Comfort Day Spa is that there is no recourse for getting ripped off if you are a new client. I paid in full for a 90 minute session of deep tissue massage, and received 45 minutes of lazy and lackluster effort from Kiera. It seems like most reviewers here have been very happy with their experience. Perhaps mine was an isolated incident. Perhaps Kiera gives a good effort to most of her regular clients. Perhaps Sandra does care about generating new business. Perhaps all the positive reviews here are all real. Perhaps I was treated this way because I'm a guy? Why take the risk of paying Comfort Day Spa to find out? They don't need your business. read more

For the price you pay for their services, Comfort Day Spa is well worth it! I was visiting a friend in LA and was coming from a "rough-in it" trip in Costa Rica. For a week, my body was aching for a massage and my face was yelling for a facial because of the strong sun and intense activity excursions I did out there. Not only that but I was backpacking through Costa Rica and needed a "princess" treatment. So I told my friend to book me a massage and facial anywhere. I'm glad she picked Comfort Day Spa. I got the "Perfect Retreat" package (1 hour facial and 1 hour massage with steam sauna) for a VERY affordable price ($120). You never get that price out here in NY. Both were very relaxing, and the esthetician and masseuse were professionals. I even fell asleep for both treatments. If I lived near there, I'd go there often because of the value of the services. read more

I try to get messages every 6-8 weeks and the main reason why I stumbled upon this place was because I was unhappy at the last place. Behind every cloud is a silver lining because that led me here! I've been here twice and Desiree was my masseuse both times, and she is awesome. The best part is that the massage lasts the full 60 minutes, which I truly appreciate. If you like having the electric blanket on like me, just make sure you ask for it at the beginning. They also don't press for tip (I bought the Yelp Deal and just used the $10 I saved as tip). On Saturday June 17th I treated my boyfriend to an early Father's Day couple's massage. I scheduled the 90 minute massage on the Thursday before the appointment. When we arrived they were ready for us. My therapist was Deborah was amazing. I had a swedish massage. The pressure was just right. Next time I want to go back and get a deep tissue from her. First time getting a professional massage and got the couples massage and scalp massages with my boyfriend for his early birthday present, and wow, the staff is suuuuper nice! They made gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable and right at home! I actually thought the massage was just a back massage but apparently it was full body so that was surprising! We arrived early and they managed to take us in almost right away right after some very simple paper work. They asked if we have to use the bathroom which was very courteous of them because I was actually about to ask lol. We had to wait a few minutes because they had to adjust a table, but it didn't take any time at all! I am pretty ticklish but I managed to relax myself and was able to enjoy the rest of the massage. I went here about a month ago and had a great experience. It's definitely not afancy Glen Ivy type place but it was nice and relaxing enough. The massage experience was excellent. I cannot remember her name (which is why I should have wrote this review a month ago sorry) but I know it wasn't Vanessa or Lily as others have mentioned so there's at least one other good masseuse there. Sandra did my facial and was pleased with the experience. she talked to me about different products and ways I can care for my face better. I would have preferred a little more extraction, alot more actually, but that's about the only disappointment I had.
