Before getting any work done, he estimated me $600 for my radiator hoses upper and lower with the coolant and thermostat. Upon arrival I was shocked when he showed me the invoice as he changed the price to $800. 90% of the total came from labor. I understand this is more work than an oil change, but it was an unsettling feeling, knowing that he had changed the price when I picked up my vehicle and the amount he charged for labor as I could have gone to the dealership and paid a couple hundred more dollars. I'm sure with minor work this shop is fairly priced, but unfortunately this was what he charged me and the saddest part of it all as he could not even warranty his work for a full year but only six months. Moving forward, I will have to resort to using the dealership just because I cannot pay someone that chooses to take advantage of his customers and changes the total without notifying me. Honest and good mechanics are hard to come by nowadays so with this said, I would rather go to the dealership and pay more.

I needed to find a mechanic to install a smog pump that I already had, and my regular mechanic (friend) has become ill. So I checked Yelp to read a bunch of reviews for a mobile mechanic... and "Mobile Mechanic Repair" stood out. I was apprehensive, but one review said "Right off the bat I'll tell you 'Hire him!'" convinced me to go ahead and call. Robert was very nice over the phone and agreed to meet me at the motorhome... I had the smog pump part and Robert got right to work. He explained to me that the newer part was metric and that he would have to head to the hardware store to get screws to fit the part. Upon installation there were some other altercations that needed to be done (drilling out larger holes on a gasket piece/or diverter piece.. I think?) At the end of a verrrry hot 98* day, he asked if I trusted him to take the part home and drill a larger hole to make the piece work. I said I did trust him and I headed home. He texted me while I was driving home letting me know he successfully drilled the hole to work!! We agreed to start again the next morning, and although I wasn't available the next morning, he went on his own and completed the job. He sent me pictures of the installed part 100% complete!! And I gladly paid him. Even though the job was done he asked me to let him know the motorhome started with no noise making (from the smog pump) and to let him know if the motorhome passed it's smog test later that day... and it did! Robert is very communicative about the job, he stays in touch with texts, he is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and I feel he went above and beyond! I'll definitely will hire him again. And you should HIRE HIM TOO!!!
