Jazz brew, canela latte, oatmeal raisin cookie
Gillian A.

I'm totally digging the growing indie coffee shop scene in EG; makes me less inclined to take trips to midtown Sac. :p - Canela latte: such a soothing, well-balanced cinnamon latte!! Think caffeinated leftover Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk but not being too sweet or heavy at all. :p Very much recommend; definitely a crowd pleaser. - Jazz brew: I've had a really good lychee-flavored coffee drink elsewhere so I was very intrigued about the one here. Unfortunately wasn't a fan; too lychee-forward and, to me, the lychee taste didn't mesh well with the cold brew taste. Altogether tasted almost a bit medicinal. I'd order the cold brew on its own though because that component was very solid (smooth and toasty!). - Oatmeal raisin cookie: a bit underbaked lol warm to the touch but was very soft-center floppy. Didn't stop me from devouring it quickly though because taste-wise it was still on-point. Super friendly ladies at the coffee bar counter! One of them directly brought my order to my table instead of calling out my order, which was a nice touch. :) Had no problems with parking on a weekday morning.

I am such a fan of this new coffee shop that opened up in Elk Grove ! We are regulars at the coffee spot right around the corner, but they don't offer matcha . Here , at common coffee you get a bit of everything and the vibes are immaculate . I visited this place out for the first time to meet up with my cousin and we both enjoyed the ambiance and our drinks! The customer service was also great ! Nice and cozy inside but they offer outdoor seating which is was enjoyable . I highly recommend common coffee for their good drinks and cozy vibes !

I've been here twice since they opened and have had great experiences both times! They do have plenty of parking behind the building, so just make sure you turn in from the main road (one driveway is an entrance and the other one closer to EG Blvd is an exit). There are doors to the coffee shop from the front or the back of the building. At the front side, there is plenty of seating, and the back side at the parking lot has a playground and some more tables out there! We will definitely be frequenting this coffee shop often, thanks to the playground. The menu is pretty simple but they have several specialty options which is great! I have enjoyed the Olive Grove the most - it's on the sweeter side if you like sweeter coffee drinks. If you like more bitter then the Tahini Einspanner is a good choice. If you're a cinnamon fan, try the Canela Latte (make sure to mix well). If you still want caffeine but not coffee, try the Green Emerald which is their version of a Thai green tea. Service has been great both times. They are very friendly, and each time they walk the drinks out to you rather than making you pick up at the counter. There are still more drinks I want to try so we will definitely be returning!!

Newer coffee spot! I was so excited to come and try. Parking was a bit confusing, I didn't know it was connected to a church. Two entrances to the coffee shop. I love how cute and cozy this place is, beautifully decorated. Their outdoor patio has benches with umbrellas and Christmas lights. Inside is super quaint, very limited seating, and only three desk/tables. There were also kids running around, enjoying drinks, and screaming. So definitely more of a cafe for sipping and chatting rather than a sit and study cafe. But they do have free WiFi available. The baristas are soft spoken, polite, and attentive. I love that they personally bring out drinks to customers wherever they are seated with a coaster. But it is a bit of a wait about 15-20 minutes for 3 drinks even though we were the only ones there. Upon ordering drinks, the barista told me I couldn't make any modifications to their signature drinks. So I tried the Canela Latte as is. I heard a lot of great things about it but I felt disappointed. It had clumps of cinnamon floating around and kept getting stuck in my straw which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, TOO MUCH cinnamon in the drink, when it settled I could see 1/2 inch of the bottom of the cup filled with it. The matcha latte was even worse. SO bland, so light, I couldn't taste the matcha flavor at all. It just tasted like milk, I ended up tossing it. Also neither drinks were filled to the top and the cup was mostly filled with ice. I don't think I will be returning.

I saw this coffee shop all over my tiktok during grand opening week and had to check it out for myself. It's located right next to a church and they share the same parking lot. I just parked right next door at SEA Hut and walked right over. I ended up going with the Matcha Einspänner ($7.50 before tax + tip) and a friend of mine got the Tahini Einspänner ($7 before tax + tip). Unfortunately, I was disappointed in both of these drinks. The matcha honestly had to no flavoring it to. It tasted straight up like milk. Overtime, as the drink started to mix in, you can tell that there was just too much milk and cream. I also wasn't a fan of the date syrup they add to this. I ended up tossing the drink :( My friend said her tahini einspänner was also a miss, and ended up tossing hers as well. Too milky, with aftertastes of espresso, and no flavoring. On the bright side-- they had a beautiful pumpkin patch and picnic tables and benches right outside. I thought this was a great place to work, study, or read. The inside of the cafe is clean, open, and airy, also a great place to hangout or study. Additionally, the girl working up front was very sweet and friendly.

Coffee - 3.1 Service - 2.5 On a whim, my daughter wanted coffee after her eye appointment. So down the street we go to try Common Coffee. As you pull into their parking there's a cute little park for the kiddos, but when you get inside the building the coffee place felt stripped down = no frill no thrills just a counter / coffee station with a small menu on the wall with some seating. And the service gave off the same vibe: order, pay, pick up drinks and leave. Now because I'm with my daughter I go out of my comfort zone and order a Canela Latte (& not just a drip coffee) and my daughter orders the Olive Grove. Drink taste on the Canale Latte was surprisingly good, not overly sweet, but just a bit too much cinnamon to my liking. My daughter drink was = mid to meh which doesn't surprise me since her palette is much more refined than mine these days. We may give this establishment another try

I'm only taking a half star off because I was confused about the parking situation to get in... park around back and there is an entry point from the front street side or the back. It IS inside the church. But not IN the church. If you go you'll understand. Nice seating area (inside and outside) and the barista brought our drinks out to us. So nice! Lofi cafe music vibes. Cozy. Ordered the doppio (double shot espresso) and the snooze off (decaf latte) - good flavor but half star off because they weren't that hot. Still good.

Tahini Latte and Canela latte?

Food: they serve focaccia bread but did not get it Drinks: I ordered the Tahini Einspänner and at first, I thought it was ok but after 10 mins or so, it was perfection. The tahini whipped cream was so creamy, would definitely recommend it. Another drink we got was Canela Latte, I really like it too! Service: Great, was quick and helpful in decide which drink to get! Just fyi: this is inside a church but don't let that hold you back. It's a fab place! Ambiance: chill and inviting place!

A new coffee shop opened in town and I'm here for it! They are open 6 am to 6 pm, Monday - Saturday. They're closed Sundays. That means you have 6 chances to visit Common Coffee or more if you live around the area. It appears to be shared space with the church but the church is open on Sundays for their service which makes sense why the cafe is open everyday except Sunday. They moved from their previous location and I've been waiting for them to open up in Elk Grove as soon as I saw signs. I was greeted immediately upon entering and there were a few people already in the cafe. The space they have is open & spacious. There are a few chairs and smaller tables to sit & do work. They also have an outside patio. There's a pumpkin patch in the front for the littles too! The cafe has something for everyone be it tea or coffee. I chose coffee but couldn't decide, I like my coffee balanced a mixture of great espresso and a bit of sweetness. I wanted the thyme latte but they were sold out and the cashier taking my order recommended the Olive Grove, Spanish Latte (has condensed milk) and the Canela Latte. I went with the Canela Latte which is cinnamon, brown sugar, and almond milk. It reminds me of a horchata! It was very sweet for me. If I were to order this again, I'd request for half sweet. Often times I forget that sweet means really sweet if I'm not making my own coffee. Service was really good and everyone was so sweet and welcoming! I'm excited to come back to try their other offerings.

This place is basically the human embodiment of a Sunday morning playlist (except they open Monday - Saturday only). Minimal decor, soft lo-fi beats, and sunshine pouring in like it's auditioning for a vitamin D commercial. The single origin Ethiopian espresso was lovely: fruity, bright, and blessedly not sour. It's the kind of coffee that makes you say "notes of berry" even if you don't know what that means. The Common Ground Latte tasted like a warm hug with just the right sweetness, but the espresso flavor was on vacation. Still, it tasted like a cozy apology for all your bad Mondays. Friendly baristas who actually make eye contact and give real recommendations instead of just saying "everything's good." Great spot for reading, journaling, or pretending you're working remotely.

What a cute coffee shop. I love that they are basically connected to a church, they have a very close playground, and the coffee is really good quality. I was a little scared to try the Olive Grove because I've never had something like that, but it was surprisingly good. The staff are really kind and helpful. They have seats inside and outside, but I do wish they had more inside, but that's alright. I'm excited to come back and try more items.

I believe this is a new coffee shop in elk Grove that just opened up. When I walked in, it wasn't too busy, but the vibe of the coffee shop was very chill and welcoming. The cashier was very kind and when we received our drinks, they brought them to us on a tray. I was overall impressed by this place the coffee was amazing and I recommend that you come try.

Dog friendly patio (front & back!)

my family and I love common coffee. every single staff member is amazing, and go above and beyond in just a small short interaction. They ask how you are, welcome you in, smile, make eye contact, and are knowledgeable on the menu. They seem to actually enjoy working at this establishment! The drinks are always sooo good, as a coffee lover who has been to many shops, I really enjoy this place. They have decaf options too, teas, and other things besides coffee. The pastries are yummy. A huge plus for parents, the church which this shop is at, allows kids & parents to hangout and play at the playground! It's also dog friendly, which I love& my dog loves too. The interior has great lighting, and design. the front & back patio have seating!

Canela latte (I ordered it less sweet) is off the charts, and my kids loved the comfortable couch and outdoor playground.

I never go to Starbucks on my own, but I'm always in when a friend wants to go. We had just left…read morethe Elk Grove Regional Park and after a cold stay there for a fun festival my husband was looking for something hot to drink. We looked in the shopping center to the right, but no cafes popped out for us. It's always a good idea to shop local, but when you're in need of a hot drink you'll go where you have to and today it's Starbucks. My husband is a loyal customer to Starbucks and goes at least twice a month to pick up breakfast for his mom when he visits her. It's quick and convenient and she loves their oatmeal. And you can't say no to Mom when she loves something so healthy for her. Today's trip to Starbucks was tough as there was a lot of traffic. You aren't crossing at a protected area, you're risking your life crossing two lanes of busy traffic. Starbucks is located to the North of the On and off ramps for highway 99 right off of Elk Grove Blvd. In the cove is located a quick quack car wash and a Burger King, I think it's a Burger King, but don't quote me, there is also a large gas station there. Getting out of the parking lot is just as tough. There is a lot of traffic coming out of the Quick Quack car wash, but people were nice and they let us exit which was a blessing. Good thing we were making a right hand turn on to the 99 North so we didn't have to cut across any traffic. Starbucks has a good size parking lot. You have to cut through the gas station to get there so it's a little tricky. They also have 2 drive through lanes, but one lane was blocked today. Inside it's really pleasant. So much more quite then the experience arriving there. It's so calm and realizing inside and they have plenty of seating available. Near the wall there is a padded bench the length of the Starbucks and there are tables and chairs for your guests. They also have additional stand alone tables. They have 2 unisex bathrooms and a had washing station that has the soap, water, drier all connected. Kind of cool and new wave. We had a real pleasant time. My husband ordered an Earl Grey Tea and a new blonde brownie with raspberry swirl on it. I think the blonde had butterscotch chips in it, but they couldn't verify when I asked. I doubt it was nuts. I really enjoyed the Blonde, it wasn't overly sweet and the raspberry was a nice sweet touch. The Earl Grey Tea came out really hot and strong. They use 2 tea bags and it came in a double cup. He likes the double cut as he can pour some to drink in one while keeping the other half with the lid on to keep it hot. I'm glad we made the stop and he was able to warm up, but due to the traffic I'd pick a different Starbucks to go to the in the future. We did make it in and out ok, but it was a bit nerve wracking.

I also really appreciate that you can customize your drink, especially since I can't have dairy. There are so many great nondairy options, and my drinks always come out perfect. When my son is good, I'll treat him to a cake pop, and now every time I pick him up from school he asks, "Can we go to Starbucks?" Sir... you're in kinder let's not make this a habit already! Starbucks is definitely addicting because it's just that good. This location is right off 99 near E. Stockton, and it can be a little tricky to get to because of the traffic, but it's never too crowded when I go and the service is always smooth. Great spot for a quick treat for yourself (and your kid too).
