came here for a cute popup collab with joah brown and it was amazing! they had a special collab drink (cherry cheesecake matcha) and cherry cheesecake! the matcha was surprisingly very good even though I was skeptical at first but I could feel the real pieces of cherry in there which I really enjoyed! the cherry flavor wasnt overwhelming or artificial and it allowed the matcha taste to really come through so I loved that! the joah brown portion was also super cool - they handed out a tote bag w a hat and coupon for their shop and had a rack of clothes samples! loved discovering this shop through this collab everyone working (olive & James staff + joah brown staff) was super kind and although there was a hugeeee line at the beginning, they managed to handle everything smoothly! the drinks came out pretty quickly as well considering how many people were there and I really have no complaints! def coming back to try their reg matcha lattes now!

Olive& James Café offers a beautifully aesthetic location with unique Matcha and coffee beverages to choose from. The handful of times I visited this location. I have tried the following items, tiramisu latte, blue coconut Matcha, matcha latte, lavender latte and the famous cheesecake. Each item was uniquely curated for the drinker as well as very delicious. I particularly really enjoyed the tiramisu latte as I believe that's one of their most popular items. Each time that I was in this location, I was also helped pretty quickly as well as getting an order very fast. I wouldn't let the line turn you down from coming in as it goes pretty quick. I can't wait to head back and enjoy another crafted drink.

Tried this place bc it was close by my destination. Coffee and matcha is usually a hit or miss but this place was sooo good. We got the Tiramisu matcha & coffee latte with regular milk, sweetened with vanilla. My boyfriend and I rated them both at 10/10. Would definitely recommend it and I will be back! (Sorry no photos were taken of the drinks bc I got them to-go!) The place was very cute and aesthetically appealing. Definitely a place for cute photos. The cashier and barista were very nice and polite.

Ordered the Basque Cheesecake and Matcha Latte with Oatmilk! The Basque Cheesecake is so delicious and paired well with the unsweetened Matcha Latte! The Basque Cheesecake was light and creamy, tasted like eating cheesecake clouds. The Matcha Latte was earthy and cut through the sweet Cheesecake.

Some of the best coffee I have had and as someone who doesn't like matcha, some of the best matcha I have tried I got the tiramisu latte which was delicious. I also loved the cute little cups. Service was super quick, and they have a lot of nice indoor seating to sit and hangout

    Tiramisu latte so good

Giving this place 4 stars overall. I stopped by for a quick grab-and-go and ordered the tiramisu latte. Was it good? Yes. Was it the best tiramisu latte I've ever had? No. I probably wouldn't order that specific drink again, but I'd definitely come back to try something else on the menu. They are a little pricey for the amount you get. What really stood out to me was the ambiance and aesthetic of the place. The vibe was really fun, stylish, and well put together. Even though I didn't stay long, I could tell this is the kind of coffee shop people would enjoy hanging out in for a while. The presentation of the coffee and the overall atmosphere were really nice. I also want to give them major credit for their customer service. I accidentally left my Oura ring in the restroom and didn't realize it until much later. I called after hours, and they were incredibly kind and told me they had found it and would hold onto it for me. Having to drive back out wasn't exactly fun, but I really appreciated their honesty and kindness. I went back the next day and they had it at the front for me. Overall, good coffee, great aesthetics, and very kind staff. I'd definitely come back again.

I came to Olivia and James to try their famous coconut matcha, and it was delicious! I only wish the cup were bigger. The service was very attentive and the place has a nice decor. also the shop is spotless and has a calm, peaceful vibe. It gets pretty busy, but the wait is worth it.

definitely if i'm in the area or they have new drink options I'll be back. if anything I just wish their drinks were bigger because we finished ours so fast. I'm not too sure why their two menus have some differing drink options but they have a menu posted on the wall and a slightly different menu on the counter when you order. tiramisu latte (4/5): I'm not usually a big coffee drinker but my mom is and she really liked it. It was strong but not sour and paired well with the cream top. we got the coffee unsweetened and it paired well with the cream top. maple matcha: i think this was one of their specials at the time since they had a separate menu advertising it. the cream top and matcha paired well and wasn't too sweet. parking: parking can be difficult but there is neighborhood street parking available. service: drinks came out pretty quickly. we went on a weekday around noon and it wasn't too busy. there was some people but not super crowded or noisy. they do have a bathroom as well.

strongest matcha drink i've ever had! ordered the triple matcha with oat milk. i would recommend for people who like a stronger taste of matcha rather than a sweet drink. barista said it consists of a matcha latte, matcha cream top, and is topped off with matcha gelato. service was friendly and fast. patio area is cute and plenty of seats to chill with friends.

Olive x James is in an a very artsy stretch of Melrose. Lots of vintage and thrift shops around it. Very artsy grunge vibes. The shop itself is has a very minimalist clean boho esthetic. It's small with limited seating. 2 tables and 1 long bench so I wouldn't recommend to come and hangout or work. The menu has a variety of yummy looking matcha and coffee options. I opted for the tiramisu matcha with oat milk it was recommended in the menu. The drinks are very cute and aesthetically pleasing. For a sweet tooth girly like myself, the drink was not sweet enough. It had very minimal flavor besides the matcha although I had it sweetened with honey. Maybe it is a good option for someone looking for a more matcha flavor. Overall, the place was very clean and workers were nice but it wasn't anything amazing that I would go out of my way to have again.

    Butter croissant, Tiramisu matcha

I came by for a quick breakfast before a workout on a rainy early Sunday morning. More likely due to the rain than the time/day of the week, O&J was empty. I imagine there is usually a large line in the AM, there is limited exclusively indoor seating. Metered parking on Melrose exists but I'd recommend the free side street parking and walking over. There is a free mini photo printer where you can get a print of 4 photobooth style photos of yourself as well! Staff was friendly. Tiramisu Matcha Latte 4/5, ok so I loved this. Now; was it super matcha heavy? No, BUT it was not super tiramisu heavy. This was definitely sweet and I'd compare it to a desert than a typical morning drink. 5/5 for taste but 4/5 for an $8 drink in a tiny cup :( Butter Croissant 4/5, better than an avg butter croissant as it was a little crunchier and I'd recommend this warmed up

    Richie D.

Overpriced okay-tasting drinks. People pay $9 for a tiny cup of matcha?! Please don't and value your money better. This place is ridiculous offering such tiny cups of drinks and charge more than $6 for them. These drinks should be $4-5 based on the quantity you offer. Save and value money people.

The egg is so fluffy, the sausage is thick and tasty, and the spicy ketchup gives it a kick of heat. You can also help yourself to an unlimited amount of aji verde and chiptotle aioli sauce! I really enjoyed both options on the burrito. Their beverages all look delicious. My friend tried the Wake N Date and described it to be a perfect balance of sweetness. It was filling but did not leave her bloated after. The protein also did not have a weird aftertaste like others may have. I had the triple cin latte and I could not get over how delicious and creamy this was. Parking can be tricky because it's West Hollywood (metered parking). They have indoor and outdoor seating - pet friendly. I will be back soon!!
