I used to work at a bank a few blocks from there, so me and my ex "fiancee" would meet up after work and go there. The lasagna and chicken parmesana there is one of the best that I've tried! The price is very reasonable and the portion size is good enough for me (I'm a big fan of huge portions). We would always order the breaded mozzarella as a starter then get the lasagna and chicken parmesana. Overall, It's definitely a great Italian spot and I recommend it. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This review is for a combo of inedible pizza to go and the type of entitled "customer service" you'd expect in Europe where you should be grateful they even served you. I ordered an everything pizza with anchovies, as is offered on the menu, to go. He said be here in half an hour. I arrived 29 minutes later so it's not like the pizza was sitting around for a long time. I brought the pie the quarter mile home and when my son and I bite into it, it was VILE. I don't know if it's hundreds or thousands of pizzas I've consumed in my 40 years. But that was, no hyperbole, the greasiest, soggiest, nastiest pizza I've ever been served. After one bite I called to inform the owner of the situation. Instead of even feigning apology he essentially accused me of fabricating the story by saying don't take another bite, I'll make you another, send it by driver and I need to see this pizza to determine what's wrong with it. I had no interest in taking another bite, but when a customer says your food is inedibly bad the answer should be I'm so sorry what can I do to fix it, not I need proof and you need to wait an hour to eat dinner so I can deliver you another of the most disgusting pizzas ever. If he really didn't know what was wrong even though I told him, why would I expect a better pizza the second time around? So I simply drove it back and got a refund. After examining the pizza, and without apology for it's totally inedible condition or the hassle it caused me, he says the problem is I ordered anchovies on it and that's why it's so incredibly greasy and soggy. So I asked if he knows anchovies make the pizza inedible, why does he offer it and why didn't he warn me? He then said he didn't know that would happen. Well, then how do you know that's what it was? Which one is it? So, not only was the food vile but how he fixed the problem was calling me a liar and telling me he wasn't interested in retaining me as a customer. The food may be fine if you eat there, but do not order a pizza to go and do not expect friendly customer service. read more

This review is not about the food, my food was fine. The horrible way in which I witnessed the owner/manager treat an elderly man because he did not like his Pizza was appalling. The man was clearly unhappy with his soggy droopy pizza. The waitress and the Owner each helped him cut and serve a piece and at that moment should have questioned the quality! When the man questioned the owner/manager as to a change in the cook, he should have at the very least apologized much less be so rude and degrading to a customer that has been loyal for over 10 years! Been coming here for little over one year and this place never disappoints. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious but my favorite is the Lobster Ravioli with pink sauce YUM! The waiter Elbert Is a hard worker and Very good with being on top of the tables, considering he is the only waiter. Parking is limited, about 3 spots out front. If you come after 7pm you could park in the cleaners spots next door. But this place is always Rocking so plan accordingly to park on the side streets for free. Great for first dates. Great Italian catering for a work lunch. The restaurant looks like a quaint little spot for a lunch or maybe a semi-nice date. Chicken parm was great and came with a lot of pasta. I also highly recommend the spinach and cheese raviola with pink sauce - be careful not to spill any in the car though b/c it will leave a "nice" smell. Lol. The pizzas were nice and crisp. Great little Italian joint tucked between a 7-11 and a hair salon, had the ravioli which was great, wife had Cajun Pasta which was not spicy at all. Overall great place and would recommend it to anyone. read more

It was alright. I recently started working within a mile from this place. I thought based on reviews that this was going to be a good, consistent pizza place to revisit on my lunch breaks. Meh. I originally wanted delivery. This was one of the few places that said they offered that. When I called, they said that they don't do lunch delivery. ..."Alright" Got an order for pickup: Large Special Pizza, Zucchini, and large chicken Caesar. I went to pick it up, they rang me up and the chef gave me my food. Chef: "Large vegetarian..." Me: "What?" Chef: "Vegetarian?" Me: "Excuse me.." (to the host and waiter) "what's the special pizza? Is it vegetarian??" Host: "It's pepperoni, sausage..." Me: "Yeah..that's what I ordered" Waiter: "No. You say vegetarian" Me: "No. I didn't. I've never said that word in my life. Whatever. I'll take it" Host: "we can put some pepperoni on there. I'll give you a discount next time..." Yeah...sure. Now I'm pissed. I wanted a combination pizza with pep and sausage on my Friday's lunch break. Now I'm sitting here eating basically a tomato and some olives. Chicken Caesar was good. I live in the Heights which is about a two minute walk away, so I initially tried this place out of pure convenience. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a great place so close to where I live! I have to say I am EXTREMELY impressed with their food. The pizza is pretty good, the salads are amazing, and nothing beats the pasta dishes! The spinach ravioli's and Cajun pasta are to die for! This is old-school Italian. If you're looking for some chi-chi fancy place, this ain't it. If you're looking for a nice plate of pasta with some red sauce and a salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and shaved carrots, you've found it. Nice, family owned business. Everything is good, but I'm not a big fan of the pizza crust, it's pretty bland in my opinion, but everything else is really great! They are always very nice to our kids when we come in, and sometimes give them their own piece of pizza dough to play with. We usually get take out since we live just around the corner. Elber is a great waiter. He knows us and knows our order and asks us if we want the usual. He always is genuinely happy to see us. We come here often when we don't want to bother with fighting West side traffic and big parking lots. My wife and her family have been coming to this casual hole-in-the-wall neighborhood restaurant since the 1960's. It has changed ownership one time. The present owner is in the restaurant most of the time and always asks us how we are doing. Good pizza and pasta at family friendly prices. If you know anything about Italian food do not eat at this place! I'm Italian (born and raised in Italy) and they don't cook Italian food at all. We ordered the lasagna and spaghetti alla bolognese. The lasagna ragú was black and was disgusting. The pasta taste like they use the water from the toilet, it was really awful. I sent back the food after taking 1 bite and they still charged me full price. It was a completely disappointing experience, by far the worst Italian food I've ever had. read more
