Honestly, this was the best experience that I've had in a long time. Everything from the vibe of the place and the absolute phenomenal customer experience given by Harry to the absolutely delicious and possibly the best vegan sausage pizza I've had and let's not forget about the garlic knots that they veganized for me. I'm just so thrilled that I found this place and that it's actually minutes from our new place in our new hood. The garlic knots definitely packed a punch as they used real garlic and the marinara sauce that accompanied them was seasoned to perfection. And my vegan sausage pizza was crispy, chock, full of veggies, and I'm not really sure what type of vegan cheese they used, but it was so melty and delicious. And to the guy behind the counter, Harry, thank you for giving us the best experience. My favorite pizza spot in SoCal. No joke. The pizza very nice, a lovely thin crust that is chewy when appropriate and crispy when you need it. Sauce is sweet but not overpowering, and just the right amount of cheese. Every slice has a light feel that doesn't leave you gnawing on a log of bread at the end. The rest of the food is great but if you don't get the pizza your first time you messed up. The service is about the best you can possibly get from a place where you order at the counter. Harry is a genuinely good dude and treats everyone right. I literally just saw him handing out dog treats as I type this. His managing style flows down through the rest of the staff, everyone is chill and friendly. The vibe of the place is the best kind of kitsch thrown back to the 90's. Album covers, skateboards, that kind of thing all plastered around the neon beer signs. Not sure what's going on with the music... might be a playlist or a Spotify station or something but it fits perfectly, working almost like a soundtrack for the decor. I have been wanting to get the white pizza from Taproom for a hot minute and I finally had the opportunity to do so and it was so good! It was really really good. The sauce was delicious. The pizza was cooked perfectly the cashier was helpful and made great suggestions! The wings were a really nice size and seasoned will, so juicy and cooked perfectly! Taproom pizza is a sister restaurant to lobster and beer... Just FYI, for those of you've never been to lobster and beer... take a look at my review just in case you need to learn more about it. It tells you everything you need to know lobster and beer is absolutely delicious. Taproom pizza is the same and they run the businesses the same way that's why they're successful! I love the inside. This spot was nice, I went during a weird time which was at 3pm so not many people inside. Looks like it can get lively during a food rush time. They offer partial service, so order at the register and they'll serve the food to you at your table. Looks like they have good beer options, since I was there for a work break though, I just drank water. The pizza was bomb! Seems like they use good ingredients. They also have sandwiches to choose from. The atmosphere is cool and definitely a bar vibe. They have skateboard decks on the wall and give it that Venice vibe. Unremarkable strip mall with a remarkable spot. This place has everything you want in a great neighborhood pizza joint, but I've always been a big fan of their Cubano sandwich. You can tell the bread is baked fresh. (My kid goes nuts for their meatball sandwich) Now that we've moved away, I miss the food here terribly and that really says something special about this Culver City gem. I am not a customer yet, but on November 18, 2024, around 7 PM, I was at the UPS next door to return a package. When I tried to return to my car, I encountered an aggressive homeless person standing right next to my driver's seat. He was yelling and cursing, which made me feel unsafe. To avoid any risk, I decided to call 911 and waited at a distance to see when he would leave. I felt frightened and unsure of what to do. I was also exhausted from work and just wanted to get home soon. It all became overwhelming, and I couldn't help but cry. After a while, someone from the restaurant--who I believe was either the owner or a worker--approached me. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name, but he showed a lot of care. He invited me to come inside the restaurant and offered to walk with me to my car. Even though he was busy serving other customers, he still took the time to help me. Lots of character I went with some regulars to the Taproom for dinner and left very satisfied. My first impression when I walked in was the place had character, pictures covering just about everything, a surfboard here and there. It isn't a very big place, but they do have seating both inside and outside where they took over a few parking spaces. We sat outside on a comfortable evening. Ordering at the counter we got some wings, meatballs, and pizzas. I was able to try everything, and I liked everything, including more than my share of their delicious thin crust pizzas. I liked the guy who took care of us, and he did great dealing with our group. The food was ready and brought to our table in good time. We been coming here for the past almost 5 years and it has always been amazing atmosphere and customer service with Maddy and when Ben transitioned to his position and it was a blast. Now we have a young cheerful young lady but the problem is that she wants to kick everyone out at 9 on the dot when you came in at 8:30pm and your pizza is served 15 min or so later, I did ask if we come in at 8:30 or so what does she recommend? do we take it to go or do we eat it here and her reply was if you do come in at 8:30 PM you might consider taking it to go unless you can eat and drink fast. Today I had a business meeting with an attorney friend of mine & we choose to have pizza at Taproom Pizza. Upon arrival it was just me & I walked in. There was the Manager (White male) and I asked him "do we have to come up to order or do you bring us menus?" Twice I repeated myself & the third time he finally responded. You have to go up to order. My Co-Worker Attorney Bob arrived and we choose to sit down for a second to speak. While in the middle of our conversation the Manager brings us water. Truly grateful! We continued on with our conversation. Once we were through we went up to the register to order. I asked the Manager if they had cauliflower pizza and he told me yes. I was excited due to me being on a diet. Bob ordered a meat pizza (sausage , pepperoni, & ham I believe). The manager and Bob spoke for a cool minute getting to know each other & where they were both from. They both had some what the same background and could relate. We paid & went back to the table. Once the pizza was done the manager brought pizzas to the table. He offered us chillie flakes & Parmesan cheese. We have tried and tried to give this place regular business. But every time we order it I consistently come away with the same conclusions: 1) They rely too heavily on garlic - especially in their pizza crust and sauce. 2) the food is fairly expensive for the amount 3) Things are inconsistently and unevenly cooked. My husbands go to is the NYC which is just a cheese pizza. When this place first opened up, the pizza was amazing. It quickly became overly garlicky and very inconsistent with how much it was cooked, sometimes our pizza was literally charred on the bottom, other times it was soggy. The Grandmas meatballs are delicious! Good flavors and usually smothered in yummy sauce. If I don't get The Montreal pizza, I typically get something with meatballs and a salad. Last night I had the Moms spaghetti and meatballs which was a small portion of pasta, generous amount of meatballs (4), but the sauce was underwhelming without much flavor. For $16 I'd expect a bit more noodles and some flavorful sauce, considering I can make a pound of spaghetti and canned sauce for a couple of bucks at home. The pasta came with a garlic roll that was quite literally burned to a crisp on the bottom, yet the inside of the roll wasn't even warm enough to melt the garlic butter when I picked it up. Didn't even try it. Looked very unappetizing. Lastly the salad- over the years I have also seen a change in the quality of the Basil Caesar. For $10 I'd expect a bit more than shredded romaine and some (not nearly enough) Parmesan cheese with tiny square plain croutons. The basil dressing is where most of the flavor is but this salad is far from impressive or even filling. We live close by and the place is always packed, great location, parking and ambiance but the overpriced yet under flavored food make it a 3 star experience from me. If you absolutely love garlic maybe this place is for you, at a higher price point at that. I wish theyd bring the recipes and quality back to when it first opened! read more

I ordered one small pie with pepperoni, Grandma's Meatballs, and Garlic Knots with extra garlic. Let's start with the small pepperoni pie, SAUCELESS, CHEESE LESS, and FLAVORLESS (don't do it)! Garlic Knots, way too dense and doughy (pass on this). Grandma's meatballs (mediocre at best, if you buy, you decide). The service was great, which made me think I was going to get some really good food (bamboozled). The atmosphere is great for watching the game, not sure if they would let you bring in food from somewhere else to make watching the game enjoyable. Firenza is close to work, Rosario's is about a 45 minute drive, but worth it. One more thing, I believe the website mentioned an affiliation with Lobster and Beer on Motor Avenue in Palms, haven't been to this location, but I have the Santa Monica location in rotation.
