If I could give zero stars I would. Grab a cup of tea because this review will be long. This review is specifically for ALI and I'm making sure you all know it. I see some people have had better experiences with him, good for them, but personally I was so unsatisfied with the customer service he provided. Let me start off by saying that I don't write reviews very often but if an experience stays with me, good or bad, I'll be vocal about it. Unfortunately this was a bad one. We had purchased a Honda civic here before in 2012 and had a wonderful experience so we thought it would be a good idea to come back. (The salesperson was different in 2012 so that's probably why the experience was better in 2012.) I emailed Ali about a new Honda civic sport hatchback. He called and emailed me back and I told him that I would come in. I come in with my family on Friday, see the car, and we're ready to make an offer. He comes back with a decent offer. We wait and are ready to go sign the necessary documents. He comes back, tells us which financial establishments will help us finance the car; chase at 3.69% and Honda at 3.9%. We go with Chase because it's a little lower, obviously. We sign the documents with the finance advisor (don't really care for her name to be honest. Also, she was a little too pushy about buying the extra warranty, but I digress.) Tell me why we sign the paperwork only to find out that all the papers we signed were for financing with Honda when we specifically said Chase?? Lack of communication there, strike ONE. Didn't have time to stick around to sign the new documents to sign with Chase so we had to hurry and submit the down payment instead. On top of that Manny(?) (some other employee who I guess was the finance advisors boss) was trying to rush us and get us to sign the paperwork right then and there. We were going to be late for work so we said no and gave the down payment to secure the car instead. We get the receipt and leave. I get a call from Ali Saturday stating that he cannot hold the car if we don't come in to sign the rest of the paperwork for the car. Keep in mind we submitted a down payment already. Excuse me? Is this how you get customers to buy your vehicles? To use scare tactics? I said we're not able to come in that day or Sunday because we're busy. In my mind, I'm thinking sell the car then if you want to be like that. It's not a problem. At this point, I'm very irritated. But we decide to go through with the purchase and come in Monday morning. This is where it gets downright disrespectful. We wait, come in to sign the paperwork. We're told Honda matched the 3.69% Chase would have financed us. We are confused because we explicitly stated that Chase is who we want financing us. We get told that Chase declined us to be financed. What? Ali had told us that Chase was able to finance us. Finance advisor says, "oh no after you left Chase declined you." Question marks all the way around because what type of business is this? We're beyond irritated at this point and get very upset. We're wondering why Ali would say Chase is able to finance us when he wasn't really sure that they would? Manny comes in at this time and says,"He was trying to give you hope about financing"??? What in the world are you talking about?? This is not a Lifetime movie we don't need hope about anything. We need HONESTY and we obviously were not getting it from this dealership. I personally got very disrespectful to both the financial advisor and Manny (it was apparently Ali's day off). I apologize for that but this is not how business should have been conducted. It was downright messed up how we were told lie after lie, it just became a headache. We decide that this dealership is not where we want our hard earned money to go. Here's the funniest thing, as we were waiting to do paperwork to get our down payment back, we are told that Chase approved us for the 3.69% financing rate. Really? You should have just been honest and worked with us from the beginning of the transaction. We got our money back and went elsewhere to purchase the car. Even though we should have ended up being repeat customers at Honda Concord, we were treated like trash. Please don't waste your time here if you value people who respect you, your time and your business because you're not going to find it here. I had one of the worst experiences with Honda of Berkeley and Honda of Concord here's my story I contacted Berkeley Honda regarding the 3rd Spark Plug Fouling out in my 2010 Honda Accord the service advisor by the name of Rory told me that the engine code the I gave him was invalid and then he started to tell me about what happens at the 90,000 mile service which I was only at 70,000 and this had nothing to do with why I was calling when I told him this he got upset and hung up in my face. I called back and spoke to the service Manager (Corey) he apologized for Rory's bad behavior and told me that he would investigate the engine code and call me back with the info. He called me back and told me that there was a service bulletin out on my make and model for the exact engine code that I originally gave Rory who stated that the code was invalid. He went on to say that this issue was covered by an extended warranty through Honda; now just think if I would have listened to Rory I would have paid for a repair that was covered under warranty. I then took my car to Concord Honda since that's the city where the car broke down. They had my car for 3 days, when I was contacted to pick my car up there was no mention of anything being wrong with my car, however as the service advisor drove my car up it sounded like a ticking time bomb when I asked why was it sounding that way the service advisor and the tech who worked on my car told me that when they do these type if repairs they sometimes get the timing belt wet and it causes it to make that sound so the service advisor sprayed WD40 on the belt and then told me to drive it for a while and if it doesn't go away call them and I can pay for the belt and they would take care of the labor mind you there was nothing wrong with my belt prior to the repair the noise went away long enough for me to pull off . I brought my car back on Monday and spoke with the Service Director (Chris) I told him that his tech admitted that the repair caused damage to my time belt and that I would like them to change it for free. He actually told me that he had to contact Honda to see if they would cover the belt keep in mind I'm at Honda of Concord and he's saying he has to contact Honda to see if they will cover a 60.00 belt. He then begins to tell me that the belt is just old and needed to be changed, when I asked him how often should these belts be changed he told me every 7 years now keep in mind I have a 2010 Honda Accord so if the belt should be changed every 7 years then my belt is not old and shouldn't need to be changed (they were full of it) anyway they finally changed the belt and guess who approved the time belt cost???? Chris the same guy that said he had to contact Honda for the approval. A week later the oil pressure sensor went out this time the car broke down in Oakland which leads to the better part of this story. I had the best experience at Oakland Honda they really know what customer service means. I mean he really took a bad experience and turned it around they have a new Manager his name is Johnny and he is the Bom.com he really fought for me with my warranty company which happens to be really shady. He really makes me wish I would have bought my car from Oakland Honda instead of Berkeley Honda. He really made me forget about my prev. bad experiences with Honda and to me that is what good customer service is all about. And to think he had only been there about a week as the Manager of Oakland Honda prior to my car being towed there. I couldn't have had better timing, I mean he had his team wash my car for me and told me about any other things I needed he really made me leave with a smile on my face I will be taking my car to Honda of Oakland from now on. I worked for Concord Honda for 17+ years and loved most all of the people I had the great opportunity to work with and the thousands of customers I had the opportunity to assist. Concord Honda had recently hired Sergio Rivas, the new parts manager due to the sudden death of our immediate boss, Charles. Me and the fellow workers decided to vote to become Union in the parts department due to sudden drastic changes in our pathetic pay plan, $1500.00 less than what we were making. Sergio was slowly changing the parts department to his liking, you know, like that one boss no one likes... Changing things that had made us money over the years such as not making car keys for all Honda cars 1980-2002. Cut backs because the lease cost too much for the key Machine. Those keys brought in cars that potentially had other possible up-sales but wasn't worth it to Sergio. A total loss of business forcing those Honda owners to go elsewhere to get keys and losing possible sales. Taking discounts away from customers that had been coming to Concord Honda for some time. Stating they don't need a discount. Remember, this is your paycheck, you don't want a smaller paycheck do you, addressing us. Sergio also stated in front t of me and another employee, he hoped he wasn't sounding prejudice or anything but he didn't want to hire any "Older" guys because he didn't want any older guy having a problem with him while asking them to go sweep floors or clean up a certain area. I personally took that as being prejudice and discriminatory towards any older person trying to find a job to live on. Also, me and the other employees notice that out of all the persons coming in for interviews, all were Hispanic. No whites, Indians, orientals, blacks, etc. Just Hispanics!!! I'm a Caucasian male and I strongly believe I was targeted by Sergio Rivas for developing a union in the parts department as well as not letting him bully me like he did others and possibly for being an "older" person and last but not least, for being a non Hispanic person. Sergio repeatedly lied about me "Yelling and screaming" at him to not only the general manager Jack Zang but to Scott Hiriyama the service manager. I was previously written up for missing too many days although I had written doctors excuses taking me off work. I had plenty of vacation days to cover my lost days but Sergio didn't care. After a few heated low tone conversations with Sergio, he decided to have another manager do the write-up for missed days. I knew where this harassment was leading and said to him, go ahead and fire me you know you want to. No comment of course. Nonetheless, after careful consideration I decided not to go to work for Fear of further harassment from Sergio Rivas, the liar! During my second day away I emailed Jeff Dyke, Vice president of operations, as he stated before, call upon me if there's ever an issue, and tried to explain the situation of harassment and asked for assistance, but never heard one word back from anyone. I finally called on the fourth day and asked what's my work status and Sergio stated they had decided to fire me for job abandonment. The easy way out for them. I don't recommend anyone ever working for any Sonic Automotive dealership as they do not give a ratts a$$ about you nor your family needs. Although if you ever need a Honda, go see Ali Maloki, he's the best sales person and friend in sales department hands down. P.s. Keep up the great work Gabriel, John, Dan, Lloyd and Roy. On June 6, our wonderful 17-year-old son, who needs a reliable vehicle to get to work and school, contacted Concord Honda regarding a 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport. The salesperson, Zaira, sent him the CarFax report and answered a few initial questions. The following day, June 7, my wife and I made the three-hour drive each way to see the vehicle and potentially purchase it. Our son is the heart of our family--an exceptional young man who works hard, excels academically, and deserves our support--so the trip was well worth it if it meant finding him a good car. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we learned that the Accord our son had inquired about had already been sold. Rather than notifying us before our six-hour round trip, we were directed toward a different Accord that was approximately $2,000 more expensive. While discussing the vehicle, Zaira repeatedly referred to the price as "$26,000" despite the listed price being $26,999. The replacement vehicle was also a higher trim level that had been involved in an accident, had open recalls, and was covered in dog hair. As we began the test drive, I turned on the air conditioning and was greeted by a strong, unpleasant odor. The test drive itself was remarkably short--shorter than some DMV driving tests--and provided little opportunity to properly evaluate the vehicle. During the drive, Zaira was unable to clearly explain several vehicle features, appeared uncertain about warranty details, and often defended or deflected concerns regarding the dealership's preparation and inspection of the vehicle prior to resale. Things became even more frustrating when we sat down to discuss pricing. The vehicle suddenly went from the verbally quoted "$26,000" to $26,999, followed by additional fees on top of that. When we raised the issue of the missing $999, which we had reasonably interpreted as part of the negotiation or a concession, the concern was essentially dismissed, as though $26,000 and $26,999 were interchangeable figures. We pointed out the vehicle's condition issues, accident history, recalls, unpleasant odor, and the confusing communication surrounding the pricing. We then presented our final and best offer. Concord Honda would not move on the price at all. As we got up to leave, Zaira made a passive-aggressive comment that "the car will sell." Perhaps it will. But that misses the point. The real issue is that we drove six hours round trip to view a vehicle that had already been sold, were redirected to a more expensive and less desirable alternative, experienced confusing and inconsistent pricing discussions, and encountered a vehicle that appeared inadequately prepared for sale. Buying a car should be built on transparency, professionalism, and respect for a customer's time. Unfortunately, our experience at Concord Honda fell well short of those expectations. One star. I cannot recommend Concord Honda based on our experience. read more

This is the worst dealership I have ever been to in my entire lifetime. I purchased a 2007 Honda Civic Si from this establishment and paid a ridiculous $3,000 dealer mark up (on top of the 23k MSRP). I knew about the mark up but I was young and dumb and wanted the car so badly, I overpaid for it. In 2007 my spouse and I came in to get the oil changed for our 2004 Civic EX. Concord Honda told us that the oil plug was way too tight and could not drain the oil. They quoted us $500 for the oil pan to be changed. We were irate and took the car to a local oil change place and they changed the oil for $21 WITHOUT changing the oil pan. At that point, we agreed that we would not go to Concord Honda anymore. So, yesterday (2/16/2012) we visited Concord Honda AGAIN for an oil change. WHY? Well, we received a coupon in the mail for an oil change that only costs $20.12. We pulled into the service department and waited for a long time before anyone greeted us. Finally, a Service Department representative came out and apologized for our wait. He was in the back watching the news about the "speed freak killers." Yes, this is a very sad story, but why was he in the back watching Television while customers are waiting on their much needed day off? I digress. So, he immediately tells us that we cannot use our coupon because my Civic Si requires synthetic oil. This is a total lie, and the owners manual will verify for anyone out there that wonders otherwise. I have driven my Civic Si with conventional oil in the worst of the worst stop and go traffic in Washington DC, NYC, LA, and yes the SF Bay area. It runs awesome. In fact, it runs just as great as it did the day I bought it. He made it a point to call me out numerous times, and even asked multiple service representatives for their opinion. Nobody knew the answer, but he made it a POINT to let me know that I was doing something bad to my car. It was a total lie and I'm frankly not surprised. Concord Honda SUCKS. Please people, take your business elsewhere. Go check out Walnut Creek Honda. P.S. This individual also popped the hood and gazed at the car just looking for any problem that he could possibly find. It's almost as if Concord Honda wants to break down the very car they sold me for $26,000 just so that they can find something wrong with it and sell you another vehicle. We went back to Concord Honda for the third time because we want to be helped by Mr. Bogut who helped us before with our two children's car purchase but he's the manager now so we were greeted by a nice young man at the parking lot and my wife send him away. After a while, we decided to get the car. We sought Howard Cao, the young man who greeted us at the parking lot earlier. All my three dealings with Concord Honda have been good, positive and we were treated nicely. My two children and I bought a car from Honda Concord and on all three occasions, we have a good experience and I even recommend this place to the people that I deal with. The sales representatives were not pushy; they are nice and very easy to deal with. Howard Cao, the sales representative who helped me last 8/16/2015 with my car purchase was young, humble and very pleasant. Asking for a reasonable discount made everything so simple and quick just like when we purchased my children's cars. For Howard Cao, good salesperson, he is not a pushy sales rep. Mark, the finance officer very detailed with paperwork just like Mr. Bogut who helped us before. Very thorough and pleasant to deal with. We also sold to Concord Honda our 17-year-old Odyssey Honda and we dealt with Ms. Raquel Sherna, Very pleasant and sweet lady. Very nice to deal with. Great customer service. We had the LoJack, Alarm and Perma Print installation and Ms. Kelly Follust helped my wife. My wife said that once she pulled over to the service location, not even 5 minutes, Ms. Kelly was helping her. She also took care of the free car rental for that day while my car is being serviced. When picking up my car and we were running late. My wife called and spoke with Ms. Kelly. She was told that Ms. Kelly will wait for us and she did. Great customer service and I commend her for that. In all these experiences with all the people that I deal with at Concord Honda, we have a very positive, pleasant experience. Altogether good customer service and we are very happy with the price. CONCORD HONDA - their car price is lower than the other dealers that we visited HONDA IS A DURABLE and RELIABLE CAR - my four boys and I have HONDA cars Will I come back again and recommend CONCORD HONDA to other people? So I havnt written a review in a long time BUT I Had too. I was absolutely impressed by the few people who helped me get outta my baby into my new baby. The staff was amazing I live in Tracy and ended up in Concord because the Honda dealership here people were so rude. I happened to get a hold of someone her name was Jessica and wow efficient is the least i could say she was knowledgeable and direct. I felt like she cared about what I was looking for and my concerns and most importantly was ok if it wasn't what I was looking for. I never felt pushed or pressured which is SHOCKING BUYING A CAR I KNOW..... When I came in It was SIMPLE because Jessica asked me all the questions before hand got an approval and a ideal appraisal on my current baby that when I came in she said all you have to do is choose your color and I was like really wow ok... Now then her Boss Ali cause apparently she just assisted him and did all the "FUN' foot work he did all the "FUN" crunching of numbers and together got me my pretty NEW 2017 accord sport. Ali was just as amazing he was calm sweet and was direct with me as well. He answered all my questions and comforted me on ALL my concerns haha they make a GREAT team. When I FINALLY picked my color which let me tell you its a hard decision to make i went into the paper work the Signing the ohh lord close my eyes hearing GAP protection here warranty there and initials initials initials oh sign here cause u missed a spot... let me tell you that its not my first car but this was my FAVORITE Experience... Tony they Finance Manager was so NICE and funny. Those three together are the greatest and hard workers to say the least. they all seemed to just know what they were doing and made the LONG sometimes not so fun FUN experience so easy to handle. I really enjoyed my experience I wasn't even ready to leave but i am so happy i got to deal with them I was defiantly impressed and was so content with them. So happy shopping... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I bought a used 2011 Honda Pilot last mid year. I am an IT guy and do not know much about cars. The car started wobbling a lot at highway speeds and even at 40 mph. I took it to a dealership and they did a balancing following which the wobbling got reduced. I complained about me getting very bad gas mileage (11-13 mph compared to 18-20 mph). Concord Honda said they needed me to do a empty tank gas check and see how much mileage i get. I got about 12.5-13 mph. It was then that a technician noticed that I have the wrong size tires on the car - Concord Honda sold me a car with completely wrong and different tires - BF Goodrich LT245-75-17 whereas they are supposed to be Michelin P245-65-17!! The technician told me that these are actually truck tires and it will hugely impact my gas mileage, increase the risk of damaging the transmission and increase the center of gravity since its a SUV and I should get them replaced ASAP. I am shocked that Concord Honda never told me that these are not the right size tires! My wife drives the car with my 2 kids and I am very concerned about their safety as the increased center of gravity puts increases the chances of vehicle toppling and skidding. I spoke to the sales manager 'Ray' at the dealership and asked for right size tires (Michelin P245-65-17) and he was very rude about it and hung up on me. I feel cheated. Current: With me pressing for legal action, the dealership finally agreed to change tires BUT they gave me the cheapest tires ever (Fuzion SUV, who the f*&k uses these??) AND charged me $158 for mounting. I complained to Sonic dealership customer relations and they said - "we cant do anything abt it. The GM says these tires are good"!!!!! UNFAIR and DISHONEST dealership. NEVER GOING BACK. Ever. Update: BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating of "F" !!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that tells a story. Why is this place still in business?? And BTW, Concord Honda, please don't try to get back to me via Yelp and try to tell other Yelpers that you guys care! because fact is YOU DON'T CARE. read more

Consumer Fraud- On 10/17/2019 I had identified a used vehicle I wish to purchase. Cristina Sanchez was my sales person and I shared the vehicle I wished to purchase. Cristina ran my credit twice with the used vehicle I selected as the financed vehicle, one as co-signer for my company and the second as a direct buyer. A $4,000 down payment was committed. On 10/18/2019 at approximately 7 pm Cristina informed me that I had been approved to purchase the vehicle. Since it was a 1.5 hour drive to the dealership we agreed to execute all sales documents on 10/19 Saturday morning. (By this time I was fully aware that I had two hard inquiries into my credit therefore reducing my credit score.) On the following morning, I called the dealership and spoke with Cristina informing her I was driving to execute all sales agreement. Cristina informed me that the vehicle was "sold last night". She proceeded to conveniently inform me to take a look at their website for another vehicle. At this point, I as a consumer am left with no vehicle and a lower credit score affecting my ability to be approved at another dealership. I am not sure how a vehicle can be sold to another party if I had already reserved the vehicle by having their bank approve me for the purchase. This is clearly a new version of bait and switch scam. Here again, we have a case where large corporations corner consumers by reducing their credit score and forcing them to purchase another vehicle in order to avoid future hard inquiries into our credit score. To our Government agencies regulating car dealerships- We consumers care about our credit score and such practices as described above have lead dealership to manipulate their ability to sale vehicles. The worst buying experience I have encountered in 23 years of buying cars. With that said, My salesperson was truly kind and great but everything/one beyond him was a disaster. I bought a used vehicle and drove home. The very next day the transmission went out, (2012 Hyundai Genesis). I took the car to a local Hyundai dealership and paid $175 to inspect the transmission and they said the transmission is completely gone and the car should never been for sale on their lot as inventory, (as the transmission fluid was completely burnt and noticeable if checked...apparently, Concord Honda claims to check the transmition fluid of used vehicles as part of their sales process). Concord Honda finally took the car back as long as I would buy another car from their lot. I did; however, for the next 3 months, my cell phone rang every am and pm from the original finance company looking for their payoff. Literally 3 months later, the dealership finally sent them their funds. During the exhausting 3 months, they continued to say everything, "has been taken care of / we're working on it", each week as I called and visited them. Durung this time, I was harassed daily, my credit score was hindered and after numerous calls, emails, and personal visits to the sales manager and finance manager of Concord Honda, all they said was, "sorry about that". I am blown away with their extreme lack of customer service. I literally make my living in sales and know that my customer service and follow through is my success and my reputation and my future business... I planned on buying a new Honda CRV next year but it will certainly NOT be at Concord Honda. read more

I unfortunately have to visit this mega dealership smoke and mirrors. Business model, same as usual. Crap, overcharge, ridiculous internal policies on how cars are diagnosed ( one serivce rep charged me 2 seperate diagnostic fees, 1 for the TPMS and one to check out the Low pressure indicator light. REALLY?) Just bunch of sillness. Its not my style to completly slam any business, but SONIC is notorious for stinky doo doo practices. If there was another honda dealership (there is one in walnut creek, but its a matter of conveinence. I just tell myself im giving the money to HONDA which I love, not to Concord Honda and their greedy management. they dont fool me with there ridiculous CARMAX like lot and modernized facility with more lifts than i can count. i could see right through that at their sister company down the street, but thats a whole nother monster, i actually enjoy the toyota dealership (also part of SONIC group), but ill review that seperately. Love the brand, and parts staff. Ive never interacted with sales staff, but then i would never buy a honda from them anyway. Service, ehhh it is what it is. They are the "pushers" of a new practice: UPSELL. to say you charge 2 seperate fees to hook up the same diagnostic tool to the same OBD2 port and on the same scan you get both problems/faults. That just was an insult to my intelligence, or anyones for that matter. Have you ever gotten paid double for doing the half the work? Exactly! Prudencio was absolutely amazing! My soon-to-be wife and I came in after our previous car sadly couldn't be saved, so we were already dealing with a very stressful situation. From the moment we walked in, Prudencio was incredibly patient, understanding, and genuinely cared about helping us find the right vehicle. He took the time to listen to what we needed, found a car that was a great fit for both me and my fiancée, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire process. He even encouraged us to take the night to sleep on it and make sure we felt confident that it was the right decision for us. That really stood out to me because I work in sales myself, and I truly appreciate someone who puts the customer's needs and peace of mind ahead of simply making a sale. Prudencio made what could have been a very stressful experience feel easy and comfortable. His manager, Colt, was also extremely kind, helpful, and professional throughout the visit. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10/10 service, 10/10 experience, and 10/10 people. I will absolutely be coming back and will only work with Prudencio in the future. I recently took my Honda Pilot in for service. When the service advisor was writing up my serivce tag, I advised him that I had a 10% coupon but I had left it at home. He said not to worry about it and that he would honor that coupon eventhough it wasn't present. He was really nice about it. When it was time to go pick up my vehicle, I went to the cashier and paid for my service. The cashier girl, Brittney was such a B%$&H. She does not have any customer service experience. It's as though you are not even in front of her. She doesn't greet you, doesn't look you in the eye, and just tells you "sign here and here" and expects you to just do as she says. LOL. When I went outside to wait for my vehicle, I noticed that the 10% discount was not applied. I went to the service advisor and told him about it. He said "oh, it seems as though they didn't apply that to your final bill." DUH!!! He sent me to the cashier and Brittney had to take care of it. She needs to pay more attention to what she's doing. I don't know why she's even working there. It pisses me off when people don't like their job. You can tell she hates what she does. She needs to be more polite to customers. read more
