So, I'm a little torn on this place. On the one hand, Condado Tacos is precisely the type of cool, trendy taco eatery that I love. We need a lot more restaurants like this in Carmel, and a lot fewer burger joints. The tacos were pretty decent. However, this restaurant committed the one cardinal sin that simply cannot ever happen: Poor service. I acknowledge and accept that the place was completely and utterly packed with people at 6pm on a Wednesday night. But, that's no excuse for long, 20-minute stretches of time without seeing our server anywhere in the building. I should never, ever have to beg for drink refills. Soft drink and iced tea refills should be coming so fast & furious that I should have to tell the server to back-off, lest I drown. But, instead of that, imagine eating a bunch of spicey food, and having absolutely nothing to drink. If this restaurant had caught on fire at 6:55pm last Wednesday, my glass would have been the first thing to burn up, like a piece of kindling wood. So anyway, I'm sure I'll be back, but I'll bring my own water bottle with me next time, just in case. read more

Talk about delicious from start to finish! We started with the trio of Queso, salsa, and guacamole which were all incredible. I prefer their original Queso to the chorizo because the chorizo gets super greasy. I ordered the nachos as my meal and they were one incredible! Now let's get to the tacos - they are huge. Today is the grand opening of Condado. So not surprisingly they were quite busy. I was able to be seated fairly quickly at a high top table. I went specifically today to get a free taco which they advertised for the grand opening but I didn't read the fine print saying a purchase was necessary to get a free taco. I understood the hostess to say I had to order a Margherita in order to get a free taco. Perhaps I misunderstood her; however I ordered a Margherita to comply. The Margherita was very good. My ground beef soft taco with the toppings I selected was good however I would have preferred some sauce on top. I finished my taco and I was still a bit hungry and had about half my drink left. So I decided to order chips and salsa. I took one star away on my review due to not receiving chips and salsa for free. I like a Mexican/ Southwest restaurant that gives you complementary chips and salsa. I chose the Rojo salsa (red and it was a bit spicy) to have with my half order of chips. I didn't care for the chips both in flavor and texture - they were on the thick side, I prefer a thinner, lighter chip. I was very happy with my server who was friendly and attentive. Delicious! I had the opportunity to try them at their soft opening and I can't wait to come back!! There were so many options on the menu and the size of the tacos and portions of the dips were perfect, I was definitely expecting something smaller for the great price and was not disappointed! I always love coming here I had the smoked cheddar dip. Ali recommended that I try the gran Classico and it was amazing but strong! I'm a little weakling so I asked Ali for more juice and that made the drink superb. Ali was such a great waitress and her service and customer service was top notch. Do not recommend, nor will I come again. If you want food with seasoning beyond Taco Bell taste do not come here. Oh and their agua frescas as explained by our waitress tonight, have always been sparkling water and syrup. I guess she's never worked in an actual Mexican restaurant before. We have driven past and admired Condado for a few months now. It took us needing a break from moving out of the neighborhood to give it a try. On first impression I was surprised by the ample amount of seating. They can fit a lot of people in here. I was also impressed by the speed in which we got our food after ordering. The menu needs a little explaining but we got the hang of it. For starters we had chips with three dips of our choice (the three buds). We had pineapple salsa, queso blanco, and traditional guac. We agreed we will just have the queso blanco if we come again. Guac was not extraordinary.Felt almost pre-made. Pineapple salsa was a nice way to shake things up. We shared three tacos: the featured Korean bbq pork taco, the ooey gooey, and the bad habit (described in pictures) I liked the korean bbq and the ooey gooey. The bad habits tequila-lime steak was honestly too limey for me. You might like it though. Pretty strong flavors here (not complaining about that!). Lots of fun to try different combos. I would prefer not to share tacos next time though as I found it difficult to get a grasp on the whole flavor of the tacos. Some bites were way different than the next on the same taco. When we paid we were met at table with what the Canadiens call "the machine". Wish everywhere had these for paying. So convenient. Might come back just for the convenience of the payment device. A fun place with lots of room and some specials during the week. Was somewhat torn between a three and four star review. But I gave four because I would not be opposed to returning and think you should give it a try too. read more

I have been to both the downtown and the Broad Ripple location many times and have had amazing food, drinks and service. I will say my experience at the Carmel location was very much a let down. It wasn't the quality of the food/drink or even the wait to get those things, it was the service...or lack thereof. Since the restaurant was busy, my friend and I had to sit at the bar and the main bar tender acted as if we were not even present, myself in particular. She even went as far to acknowledge 2-3 other groups of people and take their orders, who arrived to the bar after my friend and I, but would not even look in our direction. It took probably close to 20 minutes or more to get anyone's attention to ask for a drink and to place an order. Also to note this same bar tender almost coerced other customers to not place orders and to leave. It was extremely off putting. I know this location just recently opened, but I don't think that's much of an excuse for a bad attitude which led to poor service. I have worked in the service industry and there's definitely a way to handle when things are busy and that wasn't it. It will take me a while to consider coming back to this location despite working and living close. I'd rather make the 20+ minute trip to BR where there's better service! read more

We decided to hope over and try the new condado location in Carmel and they did not disappoint!I thought going around 730pm on a Sunday, but they were pretty busy. However, we were able to be seated at the bar right away. We started out with the 3 buds (3 dips with chips) as an appetizer we really enjoyed the corn salsa and Korean bbq queso. The pineapple guacamole was okay but the guacamole was really smooth and I prefer chunky. My husband and I got 3 tacos each and after two I was very full. They were all great but my favorite over all was the Korean bbq taco. We will definitely be back! read more

We just had dinner at this new location. They have both indoor and patio seating. They are directly across from Meijer. They do what they call three buds which are 3 different dips and you can get the half or the whole. Since there was only two of us we got the half and it was more than plenty. They were all delicious and I really loved the chips they claim to make in-house. We then each got two tacos. Lucy's fire and blue dream and then I got two build your own tacos one chicken and one steaks the ranch crunchy shells. I loved the taco shells but I'm gonna be honest I didn't taste ranch at all. They don't offer much in the way of sides so I got the bacon refried beans and I was warned it was really spicy so I took one bite and I was done with them. And I love spicy food but this took my breath away. I had the Pineapple Express margarita and liked it and then the other person got a house margarita since they were on special for $5 and it was okay. This place was perfect for us but I could see how some might be put off by this being a taco joint and no other options. So if you go with the understanding that this is a taco place and not a Mexican restaurant you will be fine. Gabrielle was our server and she did a great job. Because of the rain we ate inside which was a little noisy for me. I found the chairs rather uncomfortable and not built for those of us with extra padding. The first table we got was on the direct traffic area and the seats had no backs so it was like sitting on a stool so we asked to be moved to the other side which had chairs with backs but built for small people so not comfortable at all. One final tip here. When you have two Middle Aged adults it's never a good idea to seat them next to a couple with 5 small kids. Here's the thing. Condado is an amazing place to get great tacos or nachos. The reason I can't justify giving 5 stars is because their prices continue to increase year after year. Nachos have doubled in price in the past year. When I started going to Condado they were $5 and have now doubled to $10.50. Don't get me wrong the food is amazing and I love coming here but sad to see the prices go up so quickly and drastically. Same with the Bud Box which used to be $10 now has gone up to $12.50 but we haven't seen much change in what they offer with the recent price increases. Still recommend this place without reservation but curious what the future has in store for this business. read more

We stopped in for the first time on 9/30/23 around 2:00pm. The host did not look at us. He had a nose ring and was about 6'1".
