So many tacos, so little time. My wife and I have visited about half a dozen times now, and every experience has been consistently positive. The tacos are fresh, flavorful, often hot (not just warm) and clearly made with intention. What continues to stand out, though, is the level of hospitality. For a quick service restaurant, the staff is remarkably friendly and attentive. If the kiosk line starts to back up, someone will often wave guests over to the register to keep things moving. Staff also make the rounds in the dining room to clear empty trays, which you don't see often. One visit the Diet Coke was out, and after I mentioned it to a staff member, they immediately went to change it. A few minutes later, they actually came over to my table to let me know it was ready. That kind of follow up is rare for quick service. I think the staff feels valued here. As for the food, I still haven't found a bad taco here, and I've made a point to try a variety. The portions are generous for the price, which only adds to the appeal. Pro tip: if you're ordering at the kiosk with a group, pay attention to the guest selector at the top of the screen. After adding the first taco, you can switch to Guest 2 and enter that person's order separately, which makes the process much easier. Otherwise you'll struggle to add additional items. read more

It was fine. I've been to Torchy's before and like it better. $30 for two tacos, chips and salsa, a bowl of street corn and a fountain soda. It felt pricey for what it was. I do like the taco options (like all the Torchy's), but they were just fine. One of the tacos we got had a brown avocado on it. Our corn was over cooked. It was fine, but I expected better quality. While I was in the Indianapolis area for a concert, I was driving around with my sister, who mentioned that some people had raved to her about this place. So of course, I had to give it a chance. My one gripe, if it can be considered that, is that due to their naming of tacos, you really have to dig into the filling list to figure out what is what. And of course, I couldn't remember what they called the tacos I ordered about five minutes later. That being said, the brisket taco and the street corn I had were great. I highly recommend both. However, the chicken taco I ordered was just okay. It was wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. Pretty good option for lunch if you're in the area and want some tacos. read more

This is my favorite taco place. The food is so good. It's a little spicy, but you can avoid that have it taken off. Every month they feature a taco of the month. I try to get at least one every month. The taco for April is Shuggies it's a cheese burger cut in half and all the toppings on top. This taco is not spicy but had very good flavor. I love their chips and queso that is a must for me every time. They have alcohol beverages. You can sit at the bar. The bartender Mark is very friendly but everyone there is friendly. There are like eight barstools and you just walk in sit down and avoid the line and give Mark your order, now you're waiting sitting down ready to eat. This restaurant is on the smaller side, but we have had no problems finding a seat. Also outside seating. read more

Nice to see another Torchy's location in the area. I'm a frequent customer to the Fishers location and occasionally the Jeffersonville location when I am traveling south. The bartender was extremely friendly and welcoming. He advised that the happy hour specials were starting in ten minutes. I ordered the nachos, which are a limited time special. I would have loved to order a margarita but was only on my lunch break and had to return to work. My nachos were very good, and I enjoyed sitting at the bar with a few others while the bartender shared the history of Torchy's with us. When the weather gets a little warmer it will be nice to sit on the patio. Welcome to Zionsville, Torchy's! read more

I was excited to see Torchy's opened a week ago in Zionsville. I went today for lunch. A manager opened the door for me and welcomed me to the restaurant. The place has a colorful and bold vibe inside. The menu is confusing for first timers. The clerk tried to help us decide but in the end, we just decided on The Double Feature which includes two sampler platters of tacos that each came with a side and drink for $20. I liked the drink options. Since I don't drink soda, was happy to see ice tea and an interesting selection of juices and coffees. I had ice tea. It took about 10 minutes for my buzzer to indicate that the food was ready. The dining room was freezing with blast of cold every time someone opened the door. We were uncomfortable. It was cold outside and there are no buffers on the entrances. Loud (obnoxious) music, not on par with the theme of the restaurant, played. The little street tacos were good. We tried the Barbacoa, pork and beef. The meats were tender and moist with a lot of flavor. We asked for extra sauce and the sauces are quite good/different. The portion of refried beans is generous. I was surprised to find a small bar that serves a selection of beer and signature cocktails. They offer a weekday happy hour with half price alcoholic beverages and apps from 2-6 pm. I'll check out the happy hour and report back. Parking is inadequate and tight for the center. We parked down the hill and walked. There were accessible spaces available near the entrance. read more

So happy to have here!! I know this place from phoenix, az. Let me tell you they do great job on affordable eats. I came in to grab some lunch to go and ended up at the bar with Matt. I tried there Sangrita while waiting. It's margarita frozen with a red sangria float yum. I took home something under limited time menu. The fajitas were wonderful. They came packaged very nicely and with all the fixings. These should go on the menu. Flavor was flavoring like usual. Then the Hilbiley Queso dip Happy hour is great and food is just as good! I love Torchy's! I am very happy that Torchy's is expanding out of Texas. This is a fine location. It's brand new with some fun and enthusiastic employees. I really enjoy just about everything on the menu and I do not think you can go wrong with your choices. I'd recommend giving the street corn a try. read more

Tacos are always a good idea, so I came to try some at Torchy's Tacos. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the manager who was helping customers nativgate the self-order kiosk. They have about two of those and also 3 registers with crew members ready to take orders. I came in the evening time, so it was actually busy in this location. I noticed there is limited seating so there was no chance of dining in, and I also noticed they have counter space seating that puts you right in the crew members faces. I ordered to-go order, so I got the double feature meal that is a deal. Basically 20 dollars for six carne asada street Tacos, two sides (I got the street rice and refried beans), and two fountain drinks. The street Tacos were good, and flavorful. The street rice was a little dry and the refried beans were good too. Waiting for the order with a pager was fine, but it was a tight area to stand when it's busy (like it was this day). I waited about 10 minutes to get my order, but luckily the packaging of the food lasted til I got to the house. Food was still warm, but my camera didn't eat before me. We got a surprise entre to the soft opening of this new restaurant at the corner of Michigan Road and 116th Street in Zionsville. It was completely unrelated to this Yelp review, we were just in the right place at the right time. Torchy's is hitting just the right note with this concept- The simplicity of tacos with a wide variety of options. It's a little bit of an upscale fast food vibe, but has an actual bar with a bartender and full liquor license. Five beer options-- none of them my favorites But they had some interesting margarita options. You have to get the queso appetizer; it's a must! I don't know if they will do this all the time, but at this event our buzzer lit up when our appetizer was ready so we were able to enjoy that while we were waiting for our tacos. Nice touch Torchy's! Most of our tacos were on corn tortillas although I believe you have an option to choose. Here are our thoughts on the tacos: Mr Orange (salmon)-the elements were delicious when picked apart, but I did not like the flavors together. The Democrat (beef and avocado) was my favorite. Dinner companion loved the steak fajita- which was on a flour tortilla, and the grilled Baja shrimp (includes pickled onions). All of the tacos or barely warm, we would have liked them to have been hotter when we received them. We debated about whether we wanted more than one taco and frankly, it was a lot of food. We were glad to discover some "to go" containers in the beverage area. There are many restaurants in this retail strip, including Shake Shack, so the parking was tight on a busy Friday night. There is a decent outdoor seating area available for when the weather warms up. For a soft opening, they did a fantastic job. I probably would not choose the corn tortilla again, but overall we really enjoyed our dinner and we will be back. read more

The food at this location was SUB PAR! My taco had hard onion or coleslaw pits, so when I bit down in it, I almost lost a tooth!! I am not finished....Insult to Injury again...There was a guacamole hard pit mixed in the guacamole, and I almost lost another tooth!! Poor quality food! This is a new chain that recently opened. We tried it and were very impressed. You order on a touchscreen which is annoying but doesn't take long to figure out. I had a burrito and we tried some queso and guacamole. My son and wife had tacos and a side of the Mexican corn. Everything was fresh and delicious. The tortillas taste different than any I've had the far east and they are excellent. There are endless ways to customize your food as well. We will be back read more

It has chorizo, which adds a little kick and great flavor. I don't think I've had a taco I don't like. The Republican is one of my favorites. I like all of their sauces as well. Food is so so so good. A little pricey on certain things like the Queso is almost $7 without chips but the tacos and so good and I'll definitely be back to try each one. I did like their street corn but I feel it would have been a little better with a hint of lime and a spice. read more

I walked in, waited my turn & the black cashier was taking an Indian family's order. I probably waited 10mins which she sees me. Turns away though after taking their order. Begins talking to, looks to me like managers, just having a good old time hanging out on the floor not doing a job. She then turns looks at me and just continues talking to them then walks off. Ok, I'll go elsewhere to find an expensive $6 taco. The manager guy says 'can I help you.' I felt like saying 'No I just love standing in line at restaurants that's what we do around these parts.' Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience at Torchy's Tacos. The service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. And the food.. the food!!! Insanely delicious. I had the appetizer trio, with guac, queso, and salsa. It comes with a mountain of chips. Chips are light, flaky, and perfectly salted. For my main, I had two tacos - the Trailer Park and the Smoked Brisket. Both were heaped with filling and tasted so fresh and flavorful. This rivals upscale Mexican, but with a fast food price point. And they had crispy Diet Dr. Pepper on tap on the fountain. I loved my experience here!!! And don't skip the churros for dessert. Heaven! read more

I'll stick to Chipotle from now on. This was the worst experience of eating out in my life. My friend and I ordered at the counter; she waited 45 minutes for a taco bowl, and my two tacos took over an hour. The irony? The bowl and the tacos had the exact same filling, yet mine took 15 minutes longer. We only got the food because we finally went to the counter to ask, and it was just sitting in a bag in the back. Our husbands had gone to another restaurant nearby and got their food quickly, but they waited for us for an hour. By the time we finally got our order, their food was ice cold. We had to take everything home just to reheat it all in the microwave. The "queso" was like a runny soup and the chips were like Tostitos. I paid over $15 for two tiny tacos and a ruined group dinner. Never again. And I think I actually tipped those people! read more

For starters, it is loud and chaotic which makes it hard to enjoy your food. Also, the floor is quite dirty. Although good, the tacos are overpriced for their small size. Not many tables either. Torchy's is our favorite taco place, having visited in Texas as well as Fishers, IN. Tried this location before 6pm on a Saturday night (2/14). PROS: -Love the food. Consistent with our experience at other locations. Decent portion size and excellent flavors. Wife enjoyed her usual Migas (5.25), an egg-based taco, and I tried the monthly special The Independent (6.65), a fried mushroom based taco. -Rewards improve the value. For Valentine's, they offered free churros (5.75), which were better than other non-Torchy's places we've tried. CONS: -This location is part of a series of recently developed strips tucked into the southwest corner of 116th and Michigan/421. Due to that, the parking lot situation is a mess. Whomever the developer was failed to plan the space with convenient access points for vehicles nor an adequate quantity of spaces for the number of businesses present. There were probably a half dozen other dining establishments (although most of them seemed to have sparse business this evening). -The retail space for Torchy's itself is inadequate for the business they can do. The line to order was consistently backed up and wrapped into the dining space. -The dining space is limited capacity-wise as is. Many folks are forced to stand around waiting for their order and then for a table to open up. A lot of awkward congestion. -Because of their limited tables, an employee was telling individuals who sat at a table while someone else ordered for them that they could not save a table from those who already had their food, although it was a picky/choosy scenario as he didn't do so for each table that was doing this same thing. -While it could be due to the place being new, I suspect the kitchen is also not sized properly to handle the business they could do. We typically have received our food within 5 minutes at other locations. This was probably closer to 15 minutes I would guess. -They have entrance/exit doors on the west & south sides of the structure without a buffer to either. It was not uncommon for both doors to be open and send a chilly winter breeze coursing through the space. Bottom line, love the food at Torchy's but this particular location is not designed to handle the business it can do / is doing. Until another location is built in Hamilton County, will continue to take our business to Fishers for a less uncomfortable/frustrating experience. read more

I walked into this location at 7:34 pm. I was able to place my order quickly with the cashier. It was a steak nacho without pico, a chicken fajita big tipsy bowl, and a small drink. My receipt was printed off at 7:35 pm. I went over to the drink station and poured myself a coke zero. Then I waited....and waited....and waited. Around 10 people were waiting for orders at the pickup station. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I was a couple sit down at the bar. They were able to place a drink order, look at the menu, order their food, get their appetizers/drinks, and get their main course before I went to the cash register to get my money back and go to Qdoba. It seems that they heavily prioritize dine-in orders over every other order since their food was the only food leaving the kitchen. It had been 35 minutes since ordering at this point. When I went to the cashier and asked for a refund since I was going to leave, she went to the back to look for a manager. She returned to the front register and told me that the manager could not come to the front to issue the refund. She would have to take down my name and number for the manager to contact me at a later time. There is no way that I was going to leave without food or a refund while only providing my name and phone number for some kind of hope at compensation. Shortly after, my buzzer went off. 40 minutes of standing and waiting for food that could be put together in around 5 minutes at Qdoba. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait. My steak nachos were missing the guacamole. Overall, a terrible experience. read more
