Condado is easily one of my favorite taco spots in Charlotte! We stopped by after a Charlotte Hornets win at the Spectrum Center, and the experience was just as good as always. Service was smooth and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. My mom ordered the Korean rice bowl--delicious! My wife got the chicken rice bowl, and I went with tacos. It was Taco Tuesday, so I grabbed a couple $4 tacos and one regular-priced one. Everything we ordered was flavorful and hit the spot. This was actually my first time trying the rice bowls, and they did not disappoint! We skipped drinks this time, but the artwork, atmosphere, and consistent service made it another enjoyable visit. While visiting a client at the Ally Charlotte Center, I stopped into Condado Tacos for a quick lunch. As someone still searching for the perfect taco in Charlotte, this spot was decent but not quite what I'm personally looking for. I tend to love the puffy-style tacos you find in San Antonio, Texas, and this place takes a different approach. The tacos here are more customizable and straightforward, but they do make for a convenient option if you're already Uptown. The restaurant itself is clean, service is fast, and the location is easy to access with multiple entrances from different parts of the building. They also have some outdoor seating, which is nice when the weather cooperates. The salsa bar is a nice touch as well and adds a little extra flavor variety. One thing to keep in mind is parking. If you're not already in the area, parking in the building can get expensive--about $30 for an hour--so it's definitely better if you're walking over from nearby offices. Tried Condado and would recommend going elsewhere. Queso is like the velveeta kind, which maybe some people like. Margaritas were good but very light. The biggest problem is that everything that is fried (the chips, shells, etc) were obviously cooked in rancid oil. It leaves a really bitter aftertaste to everything. The chicken nachos were so strange but it may have been our fault for not reading the description. I've never seen rice piled on nachos and they should reconsider that. Almost no cheese as well. The staff was fine. The price point was fine. Overall underwhelming and we will not return. Bummed. read more

This taco spot in South End offers a great variety of tacos and likes with fair prices for the portions. We entered midday on a Saturday and it wasn't busy whatsoever. The restaurant itself has a nice vibe with a couple of TV screens that were playing some of the preseason football games. Our waitress was very friendly, easy to talk to, and the food came out very quickly. I got the chicken bacon ranch and Cali tacos both of which tasted superb and hit the spot for my taco fix. Great late night spot for tacos! We came with some friends and split a 3-dip combo of street corn, queso blanco and guacamole, all of which were great. I also ordered a korean BBQ taco, a bad habit taco, and a braised and confused taco. There's a ton of different taco options on the menu but the three I had were all good, so I don't think you can go wrong. The patio is nice and even though it faces the street, it's tucked away enough that it didn't feel loud or anything. It was definitely the right call to end our night! read more

But within 30 mins, we were sharing the place with an our 6 other tables. Felt bad for the 1-2 employees running between tables once everyone came in but they did a great job. Speaking for a gluten free customer, our waiter/bartender was well versed in what we could have. Highly recommend the chorizo queso and building your own tacos. AND a margarita flight! Employees were run dry, we felt so bad for them. Serving as host, bartender, and server, just the two of them. Food came out decently fast but service was super slow. Super cute inside! We sat outside on the covered patio, it was a nice day out so that was perfect. Prices of the menu, outstanding 5 stars! Nothing is insanely priced. Even the guac is priced really well! The different types of guac on the menu was super cool to see. We got the street corn guac which was delicious! Chips were hot and freshly made. My friend and I popped in for a drink and both landed on the Dragonberry Habanero Margarita which was DELICIOUS! I would definitely get it again. We weren't going to eat but it was Charlotte Taco Week (this was last month) and decided to grab a few tacos to take advantage of the special. They were basic type tacos (beef, lettuce, tomato, salsa & some sort of sauce/cream) but they tasted amazing! Had the deal been to-go too we probably would've ordered 3-4 for later! The bartender we had who was also our server since we sat at the bar was personable and attentive. It seems like Condado Tacos are popping up everywhere. It's nice to see another chain out of Columbus do well outside of the city. I don't love it as much as Piada (Italian), but it's a good choice for tacos. This was the 3rd or 4th location I've been to. We went for a quick lunch while visiting for work, and were in and out pretty quick. The tacos were pretty good, but the pickled onions really overpowered the Thai Tofu taco. The vegan chorizo was amazing though. They had a good special with two tacos and a dip (you dip, I dip, we dip) too. There was one day where it was a margarita special day, but we were working, so we skipped that (wink wink). read more

Had lunch here Father's Day Sunday and sat on the patio. Hostess was very welcoming. Service was good. We had two servers who both thought we were their table so there was a little confusion but it was quickly settled. The patio is nice. Great for people watching. They were cleaning the table next to us and swept all the crumbs/food leftovers from the table onto the floor. I thought someone would come by and sweep but no one ever did. Dogs passing by kept sticking their noses under the fence to try and get the crumbs. Entertaining to watch but probably not the best cleaning practice. We started with the pineapple guac and then shared an order of chicken nachos. The guac came out super fast. It was good. The chips are pretty decent. The nachos were good. Unfortunately, they were out of several toppings including regular salsa and avocado cream. I asked for both the tomatillo salsa and pineapple on the side and it was served on top. The rice wasn't very good to us. It reminded us of plain steamed sticky white rice. I wish they had more of Mexican rice or cilantro lime rice or something. We didn't try any of the drinks. It was convenient to pay at the table with the credit card machine they bring to you. read more

I'm really disappointed on the service AND food here. The only time I have received somewhat good service was at the bar, BUT the bartender runs themselves ragged because there just isn't enough staff? I've never seen a manager on the floor. Maybe staffing issues? Any other positions such as, host and server seems almost nonexistent. I'm starting to think the staff just doesn't want to be there? I've seen them on their phones sitting down while I'm waiting to order. When I've ordered to go online, the quoted time given to me is never accurate. Is there not a way to update the time quotes on your online system? Last week I waited 45 minutes for tacos. I understand things happen in the kitchen, but 45 minutes for cold tacos and cheese that is literally browning on one end and moldy is unacceptable. Just refund the order or cancel it. I didn't care to return to have them re do the order, because I'm not fond of waiting 45 minutes for tacos or mold. I wish I could say I loved Condado. It's just ok. I did appreciate the service we received and the staff are friendly but the food itself if mostly underwhelming. My friends had to send their food back to be remade because it was cold. I ordered a salad bowl so that couldn't really be messed up. What I *will* rave about is the trio dip option. If you need last minute taco Tuesday plans Condado is my pick. The back of the menu is a build your own section. You can build your own taco, double decker bowls and nachos on there. You pick your meats of course or no meat, your toppings, cheese, and of course you got to top it off with the salsa. Correct me if I'm, but it's probably one of the biggest build your own I've seen in a while. You have Moes and chipotle but they don't have korean barbecue, tequila, lime steak, or slow roasted pulled pork. I can't remember what I got specifically, but I know one was a firecracker and I got a double decker as well. Quick, easy, and fun restaurant to run too if you got some time. read more

Just came here on a whim with some friends before we went out for the evening. We were immediately greeted by a bustling atmosphere and the bright murals that color the walls. The staff was amazing and our server was very attentive! I wanted to try this spot out and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the drinks. The frozen flavored margaritas were good and I would go specifically to get those. The tacos themselves unfortunately weren't all that flavorful to me. I tasted the kewl ranch shell but the brisket I didn't really taste at all. I also tried the bacon refried beans and rice. The refried beans were very spicy (which I like) but still it just tasted like a spicy food without much other flavor to it. I didn't really taste the bacon at all. After sitting and eating for about 40 mins I had a really bad stomachache. I can't say if this was related to the food or not but it was random and it stayed that way for the rest of the night. I won't go into details about that but it definitely caused me to make multiple trips to the rest room.
