Glad to have discovered condessa Mexican as a class to home Mexican food option. Writing this after our second visit. The first was take out during covid pandemic. Impressed by well run system and even having the option to drive up and have the food come out! On that occasion we had some really good items and some that were just eh. The Mexican street corn was lacking flavor for one. We tried two burritos. The Baja burrito was amazing!! The veggie burrito was eh. The sauce that comes on top of it was bland and the baja was far more superior. On my second trip I again got the Baja burrito. Sooo good!!!! On our holiday travels we decided we were seafood out and needed some of our typical go to cuisines. Condesa had glowing reviews and both our kiddos love Mexican -this is not your tex-mex style food. Which don't get me wrong is delicious but this is more the style we fell in love with on the west coast. The food is light not heavy, great smoke flavor throughout. We started with a spicy cucumber margarita and the Don margarita both well flavored not Syrupy (is that a word?) juices were fresh! Paired these with Queso and house made guacamole. Followed by Carna asada, Chicken Tacos, kiddos Beef burrito with queso and cheese quesadilla. Holy cow all was amazing.but most importantly the restaurant-we felt so at ease during the pandemic-every person working was masked-all spaces were partitioned. Totally impressed! read more

We've eaten here like 5 times now (after living in the area for only a year) and this place slaps. Like seriously awesome. The food is wicked flavorful and truly authentic. There might be a long wait on a weekend but it's totally worth it. Despite the confusion over whether this restaurant is located in West Warwick or East Greenwich (just remember, "Papa Gino's plaza"), the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our takeout order. Wifey had enchildas tampiquenas; I had the pollo maya. We also tried their highly-praised guacamole. Buried in a large strip mall, Condessa nevertheless makes the most of this location, including an outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant. Due to the layout of the restaurant, I could not see much of the dining area inside, but nevertheless, received positive impressions from what I could observe, starting with an older Mexican woman chopping ingredients for the guacamole at a station right in front of me. Staff was polite, and appeared to be enjoying their jobs. I saw a young waiter or busboy singing along to the Spanish music. Another young male employee was sweeping around an outdoor table after diners left - something I rarely see happen in a restaurant, so that demonstrates they value cleanliness. When it comes to takeout, the food being ready in the time estimated over the phone, scores huge points with me, and they timed it perfectly. Wifey was giddy with anticipation when I arrived home with our Mexican feast. She's a picky eater, and when I hear her emit moans of pleasure with every bite, I know it's definitely good. She's actually a more qualified judge of Mexican food than me, because she lived in Texas during her younger years. She proclaimed that every part of her order - from the rice and beans, to the perfectly-cooked steak - was the best Mexican food she has eaten since living in Texas. Me, I'm a New England boy, so my tastes are quite different. I can tolerate spicy hot only up to certain degree. And, I'm not a big fan of avocado or guacamole. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my food immensely, and could find no fault with it, hence the five-star review. I'm really surprised at the one, two or even three-star reviews. Still, those are in the minority, as Condessa's overall 4-star rating can attest. Both of us agreed the ingredients were very fresh, and nicely presented. As was wifey's steak, my chicken was perfectly cooked, and had plenty of flavor. The vegetables that accompanied the chicken were also outstanding, and the chipotle mashed potatoes were creative and a welcome change from my usual preference, even if they pushed my spice tolerance envelope quite a bit. Prices and portions seemed reasonable, especially for such quality. So forget those chain Mexican places further up Route 2 (Moe's and Chipotle) and just come here if you want good, fresh, authentic Mexican food. I'm not as much into Mexican food as my wife, but even I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu! read more

Wow! The outside patio is very nice you soon forget you're in a strip mall. Beautiful flowering plants hanging and gorgeous tables, very relaxing atmosphere yet classy. As we sat down Dan, our waiter, was there introducing tequilas & making us feel quite welcome. Margaritas with a shot of cointreau, Dan suggested a seasalt, chili & lime rim, on point. He brought out chips & homemade guacamole --fantastic. He was attentive, not intrusive & we didn't feel rushed. Great time! I ordered the maya pollo & stuffed poblano with walnut sauce & pomegranate seeds. The food was authenic & not at all what Americans think Mexican food should taste like. It was such a treat! Which to me lacked flavor, not enough lime juice and salt. Our favorite!! If you love margaritas like me, you have to try "The Don". Best guacamole ever. The manager and almost every server we have had are wonderful. The manager goes out of his way to make you feel welcomed, is thoughtful, and works very hard to provide the best experience possible for every guest. Many of the servers have been there since our first time there, definitely over a year ago. They remember our orders, and are very welcoming and kind. I have a gluten allergy, and they are very accommodating too. If you can, I highly recommend going physically to the restaurant rather than takeout, as it is a great experience. After shopping at Cardi's Furniture down the street, we decided to give Condesa a try for lunch. So happy we stopped in. Excellent margaritas! Wonderful waiter brought us chips and salsa while we decided what to order. Not many Mexican restaurants do that anymore, so we really appreciated that. The flautas and enchiladas were excellent. Perfect proportions for lunch. The chicken in the enchiladas was in a delicious mole sauce and topped with fresh lettuce and some of the best salsa verde I've ever had. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while now. I'm a taco connoisseur, a Mexican food enthusiast and a guacamole devotee. I'm slowing eating my way around every Mexican restaurant in the state. This one is on the good list. We went for lunch in the middle of the week. No wait for a table. The wife and I shared the guacamole (REALLY good guac) and they bring complimentary warm (gotta be warm) tortilla chips, 3 types of salsa and beans. I took advantage of the $10 lunch special steak fajitas and the Mrs had a taco salad with shrimp. Their $10 lunch specials are a great deal. The fajitas were very good, great sides and some of the best tortillas I've ever had, and I've had A LOT! The wife enjoy her shrimp taco salad and I had few bites as well. It was very good. The shrimp were fresh and the dressing was nice. The taco shell bowl was awesome. Like a flaky taco from heaven. I have been to this restaurant many times. We go there because it's a good menu, you don't feel like your meal is mass produced. It being May 5th it was obviously really busy. We waited a good hour and a half for a table which we understood. The menu was limited but I ordered my usual dish, arroz con camarones. We literally got our food 5 minutes later. Everything was prefixed. The Shrimp was so salty it was terrible, the rice was different, etc. For a meal that costs $19 dollars this was awful. The $14 dollar margarita's were mostly ice and the mix. The staff kept walking by and looking if we were done for a quick table turn over. We couldn't even enjoy ourselves without being rushed. It was really sad because this was not enjoyable experience in the least. read more

We made a pit stop on our way to Cape Cod and so glad we did. My son and I ordered the tacos de asada and we loved it. My husband ordered the tequila shrimp tacos and he said they were amazing. We had the street corn and guac for starters and there were no complaints. Also, unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants lately, they gave us free chips and salsa!
