Went here for dinner and sat at the bar. The service was very good. The food is BEYOND. It's so good. Love the enchiladas. I always get the combo with one of each, and it never disappoints!

When you're really hungry for Mexican food, but don't want to spend a bunch, Conejito's definitely comes to mind. Had not been there in years, not much has changed. We all ordered the 3 Enchiladas, with beans and rice, they brought out some chips and salsa to tide us over while we were waiting for our food, nothing special, but pretty standard for most Mexican restaurants. They still are reasonably priced, and served on paper plates, which is fine, but there is one change they have made ,and not for the good. They now add in an automatic 18% service charge, and let you know that it is not a tip,and encourage you to tip on top of this, seriously? I always tip good for good service (20% plus) ,but to add this in automatically, doesn't sit well with me and is left a bad taste in my mouth!

Went to Conejitos for a late dinner. We were seated at the long table and our drink orders were taken right away. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa and we said yes. Out group of 4 ordered enchiladas with rice and beans. One of our party didn't want the rice and beans but was told it wouldnl be the same price so he got them. Got our food quickly and we enjoyed it. The bilI had an automatic gratuity of 18% added to our bill which also included with the taxes. I understand a large group having an automatic gratuity added but there were just 4 of us. I would pay 20% because that is what I do but I didn't like having an automatic 18% added and tax added to that, not cool! Won't be back because I was not happy about them making that mandatory.

Fast and Cheap! But Good? Been here several times in the past. We came this time out of necessity. It was a monday and our original restaurant was closed (our bad), so with being in rush we knew the Conejitos would be quick. And it was. But as usual, not all that good. On this particular night, they were not taking credit cards. Sign was on the door, but this seems to be a consistent issue. They sat us a small "wobbly" table in the bar area. The music was loud. The room is bit old and tired looking. Server got to us right away. We ordered a couple of regular margaritas. You don't get waters (unless you pay). They were $4 and not bad. We ordered guacamole right away. It was definately not fresh. Looked like and had the texture of baby food, over processed. Ordered a plate of "Chopped Meat" tacos and a Combo Enchilada plate. The food came out in a matter of minutes. It was okay, a step up from Taco Bell (serving alcohol). The beans and rice were good. They automatically add an 18% gratuity to the bill. We were in/out in less than 30 minutes, which was the main point of coming.

So what you need to understand about this place is that it's crappy in the BEST WAYYY! The food is so cheesy and not high quality but it's so insanely delicious and not good for you. It's very tiny and usually not insanely packed. The margaritas are a MUST. It's got a very vintage, dark, welcoming dive bar vibe but also in Mexico if that makes sense? Service is always the best too! They're my favorite thing about this place. I think this place doesn't get good reviews cause people don't understand that this place is nostalgic and perfectly imperfect.

I have been going to Conejitos since I was a small child. Every time I go I hope for better service, but it continues to go downhill. They have closed most of the restaurant squeezing everyone into the original bar area which doesn't provide much room and in winter it is cold with the door constantly opening! The food came very quickly and the server checked on us constantly, but it was to the point of definitely feeling rushed and pushed out the door. The prices are still good with the exception of nearly $5 for the tiny margaritas they hand out. They also do not offer "free" water. If you want water you need to pay for a bottle which I find absolutely ridiculous. As for the food, it is delicious as always. I wish the environment would improve because it was keep me from going back. the beans with cheese are so yummy. My mouth waters just thinking about it! The tacos were good, with moist meat and a healthy amount of toppings. The tostadas are my favorite and I always order them! Do not miss out by passing these up!

Tiny menu (like 5 options) and bland food. I'm beginning to think that Wisconsin has no good Mexican food.

Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.

The guacamole had a strong citrus flavor which I am a fan of and the salsa was complimentary! I would HIGHLY recommend the best burrito ($15) as they did not skimp on any ingredient, especially the flavorful pork pibil. My only qualm was that the rice was undercooked and slightly crunchy, but otherwise an affordable and tasty restaurant for a date night. The staff were friendly, service was fast (less than 10min to receive food after ordering) and the restaurant had bright and colorful furniture and decor which were true to theme.

The menu features small bites, chicken, loaded fries, and they have specials too. I ordered at the counter and got a text once my food my was ready. There's plenty of seating inside the brewery and the interior is unique because it used to be a church. Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure it was at some point. Anyway, I had to try the birria egg rolls because there was a ton of signage. First, they were quite large. The exterior had a great crunch and the interior was stuffed full of delicious birria, mozzarella, and chihuahua cheese. The ancho chipotle aioli was nice and smoky and paired well with the eggrolls. Definitely recommend and I wish I lived in the area because I could make a meal out of just these. I also tried one of the specials, the Chicken Tinga eggrolls. Again, they were bigger than expected, had a delicious, crispy exterior, and was stuffed full of chicken tinga and queso. It was served with a side of crema. Perfect pairing and I might have enjoyed these slightly more than the birria ones. I highly recommend that you check them out. I'm jealous that I don't live closer because we don't have a place like this in KC. They are definitely a unique place with delicious food.

Get here early - parking sucks, and suburbanites will freak out at the hood, but no worries Jesus is right next door at St. Josaphats basilica and will watch over you. And don't forget to take a tour of one of this country's most beautiful cathedrals. Right there by Don Luchos. You can eat here. Lots of long communal tables so don't be shy. Prices aren't cheap but this is quality. I usually get a pound or so of carnitas. They measure it out, it's steaming, and ask if you want it chopped. I say yes. It's wrapped up tightly and it will feed you all weekend. This meat is freaking amazing!!!! I pray they haven't run out of homemade tortillas, but like I said, you gotta come EARLY. Sigh.
