I placed my order 30 mins before opening with the app. The food was not as expected tho the homemade corn beef hash tasted like day old sat in a fridge without being covered. What a great place! I was looking for something other than a diner breakfast and found CIC online. I'm so glad I did. Hubby and I stopped for breakfast after an appointment. The banana bread French toast is delicious!! Hubby had the farmer's omelette and he was very happy! One of my favorite hot dog spots in New York State. The Coney Island Dog is better than what you'll actually get at Coney Island. I live in NYC so haven't been here in year, but if I'm on the highway I'll take to Middletown exit and grab a dog. Dingy divey diner vibes but for the cost and quality it's worth it. And hey, it's next to a bus station which adds to the seedy atmosphere that makes all good diners great. read more

Went here again with the family. Everything we ordered was great. Chili dogs all the way- can't go wrong. The dessert was like a 5 star restaurant but affordable and presented beautifully. Since the owner is a chef, even typical wraps and sandwiches are ahead of the competition. Don't let the bus station fool you, make this place one of your regular stops. read more

It's confusing for a first timer...I wasn't too sure if I should sit or order at the counter. I did both, but it seems if you're here to stay, you'll get table service! I wasn't the only one to make this mistake upon walking in. The hospitality here is excellent. The cozy kitchy feeling reminds me of mom and pop places. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with some changes. I personally was satisfied with just half the wrap, but I'm sure I could have eaten the whole thing on a hungry day! I went here about a year ago in the summertime and I just kept forgetting to write this review, but here it is. I was stranded at the Middletown Coach USA bus stop because the bus broke down and we weren't able to get back on the road for eight (yes, eight) hours and it was scorching hot out. The only food vendor in walking distance was Coney Island Cafe, so I decided to stop in and have a grilled chicken wrap with their potato chips. I give the food two stars because the chips were soggy and the wrap was poorly made. The price was also very expensive from what I could remember for not only the location (pretty much in the middle of nowhere) and for the lack of quality. Since my bus was not for another seven hours or so, I decided to order a drink and just hang out there and read a book to kill some time. I had not been planning to stay there for all eight hours, but I did want to just relax in an air conditioned place after eating my meal. After about a half hour of my meal being completed, one of the counter girls scolded me that I "can't sit there anymore because people are coming in for lunch so you have to leave." I was in utter shock, so I just got up and left and walked back out in the summer heat. Keep in mind, there is NOTHING else around besides the bus station, at least in safe walking distance anyway. The funny part about this was that once lunchtime hit, the table I had been sitting at was still open, along with 10 other tables that I could have sat at. Guess she was overestimating how many patrons would be arriving at lunchtime. Needless to say, I probably won't be in Middletown, NY anytime soon, but for those who are in the area, I certainly do not recommend this place. read more

Just ordered take out from here for three people. The food was so bad none of us could eat it. The French fries were cold and soggy. I typically do not eat beef or pork. However a friend took me here about a year ago. 2 hot dogs with everything. Delicious. Been back about 3x since then. The most recent trip being last weekend, December 21. The following day I became violently sick- vomiting and diarrhea. Spent another 2 days recovering. My friend experienced the same. And then, to find out the 2 friends we had passed as we were leaving and they were going in, also got sick! All 4 of us became sick within 30 minutes of each other! Never. Again. I called and ordered a sausage,egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and a iced coffee. I came to pick it up and I was charged $7. Before 11am they charge $4 for the sandwich and a free hot coffee. So somehow I was charged $3 for ice. Then I get to work and eat my sandwich. I took a bite and it was a little bit crunchy, I thought it was the toasted hard roll. The next bite was EXTREMELY crunchy. I spit out what was in mouth and there was so much egg shell in my mouth. I looked in the sandwich and there was a huge piece of egg shell in the sandwich. The amount that was in my mouth plus what was remaining in the sandwich was equal to half the egg shell. There is no way that the chef could not see the egg shell in the egg on the griddle. Food here is very overpriced for the usually poor quality you recieve. Homemade chips always taste burnt and stale, cupcakes taste more like muffins and have very poor texture, wraps are soggy, and other items are usually very bland. I had bought a cookie from the dish on the counter a few weeks ago and the cookie had obviously been baked a while ago because it was very stale tasting, and also ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and the cream cheese tasted spoiled and like it was left open in the fridge. I wouldnt recommend it and it's usually my last resort when i'm in that area of middletown because their aren't too many options. Something sweet has way better quality food read more

I have gone to get their hotdogs at least once a month or whenever I go to Middletown and bring them home to eat later on. Had my friend go in yesterday for me since I had not felt well and she ordered me two dogs with everything as usual and asked to be wrapped separately in alum foil which was done but boy was shocked when I opened them up later on to find barely any sauce at all on one ( maybe a tablespoon full if that) and the other one was so so but not their usual brimming with onions and sauce and guess they ran out of mustard as if there was any on them it was so little as to not be found. Prices have gone way up and understand that since everything is up but the quality has fallen way down so will try to find another place to grab my to bring home lunch when it town sorry to say. read more

Terrible service. I walked in this past saturday afternoon, confused as to whether to sit down or not. After sitting down a few minutes, a waitress came and took my order-a simple ham and egg breakfast order. After sitting down for over twenty minutes and watching someone come out of the kitchen and lean on the doorway, as if taking a break, I then got up and told the waitress I couldn't wait and asked her to pack up my breakfast for takeout (I HATE takeout breakfast!). After she stuck her head in the kitchen, I told her that I would just pay for the coffee and leave if they hadn't gotten started. Lo and behold, they hadn't EVEN STARTED my breakfast-despite the man relaxing in the kitchen doorway!! She then gave me some lame excuse about how I came in when they had of lot of "tickets" to fill, which was BS since there were only a handful of people in the restaurant and obviously kitchen staff thought it would be OK to take a break. I then paid for the coffee, which a DECENT restaurant would have comped me for my inconvenience. I doubt I will ever go there again. read more

I come here all the time! The staff is friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The menu gives multiple selection for each meal and now offers a "you pick two" option and a healthy choice menu. The you pick two option is an extremely better deal then a place like Panera. You actually get meat in your wraps/sandwich, and it is slightly cheaper and of course delicious. They feature daily specials which are also posted on facebook everyday. Since I have been going there, the menu has continued to change slightly to keep the customer satisfied. Their breakfast menu is one of the best and the hotdog and coney specials that have been added truly have the customer in mind. You know what your ordering and what you can add to a coney dog by the menus (that are both paper and displayed behind the counter for to go). The owner is a culinary graduate and knows what the customers want. A MUST go if in Middletown or if traveling and using the bus station!
