However, the 3 stars has to do with the quality of their food vs the price. I would say it's overpriced and the steak sandwich I ate had very very chewy meat that I couldn't swallow, the cheese was in the sandwich wasn't melted, and just my type of place to eat.

Absolute s***show here today. Every weekend in Duluth is nuts, every season is tourist driven. So…read morewhy do places always act like deer in the headlights? We came here later in the afternoon around 1:30 to grab some lunch. Passing the mall that was jammed packed with shoppers, we set our expectations for a long wait. Well, that is what we got and then some. We put our order in and waited, and waited, and waited. Hey, it's the holidays and the weekend, we will wait. More than an hour into waiting, our food finally comes out. As our waitress is bringing out the food, she tells us that only one out of the two of the wild rice burgers we ordered was available and we would need to make a substitute of some kind in place of the KITCHEN'S error. AS SHE IS BRINGING OUT OUR ORDER THAT WE HAVE WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR. WTF? So are we supposed to order something else and wait an additional hour for it? So that means one person at our table has no food and we are starving because it is getting close to 3 p.m. So we order an order of onion rings and start splitting up our meals to make enough food go around the table to feed everyone. A good waitress would press for our onion ring order to be at least prioritized but that never materializes. After waiting 20 minutes for the rings, we tell our waitress to cancel the order. It would be dinner time by the time we got them. Seriously, no apologies, no what can we do to make this better, nothing - just would you like to add more to your bill? Overpriced burgers and sandwiches (one burger, one kid's meal, and one beer ran was $35!, that was just one bill out of three). On top of that, they nickel and dime you with so many different charges (5% automatic charge to pay for their awful cooks, retail tax (?), multiple lines to tip your staff, etc.) followed by absolutely clueless and uncaring staff. I'm only 33 years old but this will be the last time me or my immediate family ever set foot into any Grandma's establishment ever again. Avoid this place and support a business that actually works to be deserving of your business and time.

The menu has a lot of variety with many items to choose from. The server was just top notch like took time to get order right, answer questions, come back and check on us and smile and super professional the whole time. My beverage was amazing and food was great, one of the people in our group said the homemade vegetable soup was the best soup they've ever had. To be honest the food was really good but the staff was just amazing. The hostess, server, even person who walking by answered a question and wasn't our server were all just beyond top notch. Like the service you'd get at a upper end steak house (but even better than that). I think the food is great, the servers are TOP NOTCH and for sure recommend. I'd give six stars if I could.

They also have a window into the kitchen, so you can see the chefs cooking! Our server was very sweet and attentive! It was their first day too!! Woohoo! I got the Rise of the Phoenix mocktail, which was so yummy! Perfect for a hot day! Had a good amount of vegetarian options, which is always lovely to see! I ended up getting the Wild Rice Hot Dish because it felt so quintessentially Minnesotan. I didn't end up loving it. I thought it needed more flavoring and spicing it up, but I know that that is NOT quintessentially Minnesotan. But my whole group thought it could have used a little something-something. BUT we also got the Mac and Kim-cheese and that was so good and flavorful! Such a fun combo! Would definitely get that dish again!

CJ was warm, welcoming, and so hardworking. We had great service from him! I ordered a Dark and Stormy cocktail. It was good, just stronger than I expected. My husband and I both had their greens salad with different dressings. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. My husband also had their huli huli chicken sandwich which he said was amongst his top favorite chicken sandwiches he's ever eaten. Portions were generous here too. We had a great server but every staff person we interacted with was also wonderful. It's a great place with an awesome vibe, and I would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone, especially lovers of the arts.

I started with the Tempura Fried Cauliflower appetizer, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night! You can choose between sambal aioli or crabapple BBQ sauce -- I had the aioli drizzled on top and the crabapple sauce on the side, and it was amazing. I'm not usually into autumn spice flavors, but the crabapple sauce was subtle, slightly smoky, and paired beautifully with the crispy cauliflower. For my entrée, I had the Coconut Curry Bowl. It was flavorful and hearty, though a bit strong and salty for my personal taste. They also offer a kids' menu with generous portions (I've included a photo for reference -- grilled chicken, fries, and veggies). Overall, great vibes, friendly service, and a wonderful cause. We loved supporting a non-profit restaurant dedicated to the arts and community development!

We went to the Lake Ave. location in Canal Park since it was walking distance. Walking into the establishment you are greeted with the aromas breakfasts being made and a hostess who was friendly. We opted to eat outside under the covered patio to enjoy the day. The menu has plenty of options to suit one's fancy - pancakes, waffles, pecan/cinnamon rolls for those with a sweet-tooth, and of course any number of savory plates for the rest of us. Making an eating decision can prove difficult. the Huevos Rancheros looked appealing as did the breakfast sandwich, and the brisket eggs Benedict. I opted for what was behind door number four and picked the country fried steak and eggs. Much to my delight, instead of the usually Sysco food distributor breaded chopped steak topped with a gravy from an institutional food can - They actually used a rib-eye for the steak, and homemade gravy. I also had the option of toast or a pancake. I always love me some decent rye toast, but today was a day to mix it up, and the pancake was nice, and not too big. I also liked that there was an option for blueberry syrup, or Maple syrup. The other item ordered was the Greek Omelet, my wife truly enjoyed it, and they also cooked her hash-browns to order which she appreciated (she likes them really, really crispy). I this will definitely be a must have place to eat every time we are in Duluth. I highly recommend this place.

I think the boozy brunch crowd comes in late morning. We were seated quickly and ordered breakfast. We got the usual pancakes, French toast, etc. Everything was good. Best ever? No, but pretty solid and the portions were generous. The kids ate it, which is most important. The service was good, too. It was a bit hectic for the staff because they sat like 8 parties of 4 all at once - all with kids, so it was a lot for them to manage, but they pulled through and we were well taken care of. I heard it gets packed by mid-late morning, so if you can, get there early!
