H M M M M M ........... I THINK N O T I am here for the second time, it is conveniently only 3 blocks from daughter's house. Unfortunately, this trip was no better than the first. It was just " blah". I think a restaurant with the word LATIN in the name should have some pizazz. Really. Maybe if we would have been able to order in Spanish we could have conveyed our desires to our server much much better. After ordering, we waited and waited and waited for everything. Lucky for us, we were here to see my Niece dance with her Flamenco Dance Group. That kept us occupado. So we were entertained while we waited, thank goodness! We split the beef short ribs appetizer (that came with white rice and runny beans), and the pork tenderloin with a giant dumpling and a little gravy. The ribs were flavorful, and uncommon to find as a menu selection. The pork was similar to how I make it at home, certainly not very Latin - like. I thought the dumpling was good on the outside where it was crispy. The i side how, seemed thick and chewey. Gaggy. I will say, the price was right. Daughter ordered the 2 4 1 mojito, and they came in really tiny lowball glasses. If they had been in 1 taller glass, it would have been a normal mojito. Whaaaaa ? It was. however, quite tasty and minty! Yum. So, the best part of this evening, besides watching my girl dance and kick up her high heels , was using the ladies room. Yes, that is what I said. It had a black ceiling , black tiles on all the walls, black sinks and counters, black doors and dividers AND black commodes. I have never peed in a black pot before. My life is now complete!!! The floor was painted a muted blue, and the contrast was perfect. B E S T L A D I E S R O O M

Went here in a Saturday around 5:15pm. We were promptly seated and someone came over to ask about our drinks. We ordered some water and then our meal. Ordered the chicken with rice, fried yuca and skirt steak with chimichurri. The chicken with rice was the most flavorful dish and the hottest. I liked the yuca but the sizes were all different which meant some pieces were too fried and others not enough. The steak had the potential to be so good! It wasn't hot enough, in terms of temperature. I loved the flavor of the chimichurri and I was sad that it was warmish. Maybe the chicken and rice took longer-I'm not sure and it still tasted good. We had great service with water refills and checking on us. Used a LivingSocial deal and it was easy peasy! Next time I'm coming back for the paella!

    Paella Marinera

We almost didn't go here because of the bad reviews but I'm glad we did. I really wanted to try seafood paella, or Paella Marinera as they call it, which is why we came here. I have had paella once before and also made it once. We were warned that the paella would take about 40 minutes but we were okay with that as we had beer, wine and a huge bowl of black bean soup. The soup was great and kept us going for a while. When the paella showed up it looked really good. It had plenty of rice, fish, crab, lobster, mussels, clams and scallops. It also tasted really good. I only had two issues with it. I have read that authentic paella is supposed to have toasted rice because the rice is cooked over a high heat. This didn't have that and maybe no one makes it like that anymore. Of course I may not even like it if I got to try it. The other thing is I think that the amount of salt could be toned down, but then I'm quite salt sensitive. Overall good though and we had some to take home for lunch the next day. In a lot of the bad reviews they mentioned the bad service but our service was good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She came back multiple times to make sure we were okay.

Food tasted really good, I was surprised . I wish I could take a picture of the pork, cause that surprised me also. A bone shard that was nearly sharp as a razor was sticking out. It cut my lip cause I didn't see it initially and surely didn't expect it and when I told the waitress she gave me an empty expression and just said yes. No are you ok, or sorry. Just an empty expression that said she wasn't interested And/or wasn't her problem. Total turnoff.

This is a place I will not be going to again. The food was just as bad as the service. I do not recommend this restaurant. We were kept waiting. The waitress was rude and as the only three latínas there, the service was horrible. When I asked for sauce for the mofongo the waitress caught an attitude. I've been told the music and dancing is good however doesn't matter I will not be going there ever again not even for a free meal.

We had a groupon for this place that we had to use before it expired. We had a decent experience the first time we dined in here .. the food and the service were both decent, but it was different this time. We were there on Saturday night, and the place was not packed. We were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered pork tacos as our appetizers. They came out pretty quick, and that was good cos we were really hungry. Now here came the first problem. The server didnt get us any silverware and dinner napkins, so I had to use my fingers to get the salsa and sour cream out of the serving cup into the tacos. The tacos actually tasted pretty good, but if I didnt have to dip my fingers in the salsa and sour cream cup without not having any napkins, I would have enjoyed the tacos a whole lot more. We then had to flag down another server to get us the silverware and napkins cos our server sort of disappeared. We order Steak and Onion, and Roast Pork for our main meals. The main dishes also came out pretty quick. They tasted ok. The rice and fried plantains on both dishes were actually the good part of the dish because both rice and plantains tasted better than both our steak and roast pork. The steak was edible but not at all memorable. The part of the roast pork with the glazing sauce tasted quite nice, but the other part that didnt have any sauce over it was dry, chewy and bland. After we were done with the meals, we had to ask the server to PLEASE refill out water glasses. Then after we got the check, we had to again wait for a while for the server to take our check and credit card. We dont want to see if third time is a charm, so we wont be returning.

This place is a solid 3 stars in the best way. My expectations were pretty low for this place, given the previous feedback, but I was plesantly surprised. The decor is a little dated, the place feels old, and the service was impatient, yet attentive, but the food was better than I expected. The bad: water. The water had a very strange and offputting taste. The tostones - very, very dry, flavorless but at least it was crunchy. The house wine. This was the first house wine that I had that made me wonder, what is, exactly house wine? Is it leftover wine from the previous day? If I had to guess, the house wine here was the leftover wine from the previous day, from several bottles, mixed together. BLEH. The good: Arroz con Mariscos/Rice with Seafood (for one) - really quite tasty. It didn't have the crunchy, browned bits that paella would have, but this was much cheaper and faster with a similiar flavor. The Tilapia in Curry and Coconut sauce - the filet wasn't overcooked, which is always a good thing. And the curry was nice too, not really authentic tasting, but plesant. Instead of rice or potatos, we opted for a side of mofongo, which also had a very nice flavor, but was again quite dry. In the middle: Seafood Casserolle - for $22, I would typically expect a little bit more. Some of the seafood, like the crab was definitely overcooked. But overall, the flavors were nice, if a bit overseasoned. And it was a nice portion. Conclusion: I had decided to come here based on a friend's groupon, so it was a very good deal for a decent meal. It's also within walking distance from my home, so that always a plus. A solid 3 stars.

Service: The service is friendly! When you arrive at the doors, there's a sign to knock but the employees are pretty good at spotting people so they will open the door to welcome you in and give you menus. You go to the register to order whenever you're ready. They do have some specials which are written on a chalkboard and the employees are able to tell you about the specials as well. Atmosphere: the restaurant was vibrant with colorful walls, and flowers on the table! It is a sit-down restaurant but fairly casual! It was well lit, and good for gathering with friends and family or coworkers! They also do to-go orders if you're not looking to dine-in! Food/drink: they have plenty of gluten free options and a couple vegetarian options. They are able to modify some of the vegetarian options to be vegan if needed. I ordered the vegetariano saltado, which was well balanced with some salty and tangy notes. It is listed as spicy on the menu but I found it to be quite mild. This was my first time having mote in a dish, which are boiled, peeled, corn kernels. They have a mild nuttiness, and a soft chewable texture which was very nice! Overall I enjoyed this dish and would order it again! The naranjilla juice was also very good! It had a tropical flavor, almost like a pineapple with orange juice flavor. I enjoyed the food overall, and thought the portions were good. Each person in my party of 3 had some leftovers remaining!! I would recommend Chimborazo to anyone interested in trying Ecuadorian food, and I will be back!

As usual, Rincón 38 served up a splendid evening thanks to the delicious food, wonderful service from Fernando, and delightful environment. We got some of our reliable favorites--piquillos, the queso frito, and the coliflor. As usual, the flavors and plating were exquisite. I always appreciate the balance of flavors and textures. Salty, savory, sweet, and piquant meet tender, creamy, and crispy. It is truly always a delight for all the senses. My birthday treat was the créma catalana, the Catalan answer to crème brûlée: sweet custard sits under a crunchy sugar crust and is topped with a lovely cinnamon-flavored apple concoction. We also tried a relatively new addition to the dessert menu--the Spanish coffee flan. With just the right amount of sweetness, this flan was sturdy and melts in your mouth. The coffee balanced the sweetness and creaminess--imagine the best coffee dessert you have had, and you're getting close.

One had asparagus and mushrooms, one was kabobs, one was prawns, and one was fish. The textures and flavors worked excellently for each plate. Four plates for the two of us was a good amount. We especially enjoyed how conversation-friendly it was here. If you're looking to catch up with a friend, this is a great option! As for the menu, you'll find both Mexican and Ecuadorian options. Starting with the beverage offerings, you'll see many flavors of Jarritos, agua frescoes, and some Ecuadorian sodas. I tried the Tropical, which was delicious. Pink and fruity, it was not too sweet and had a little dose of je ne sais quoi. I really liked it! I saw empanadas on the menu, and while I have had them before, never have I ever seen them served with sugar. Of course we ordered them. They were awesome. Exactly the right balance of crisp and tender, the pastry was a delight. (Definitely sprinkle a little sugar on it.) The salty cheese provided a satisfying little cheese pull and went beautifully with the sugar, too. They also go great with the hot sauce, which is a must-have. It's acidic and bright from the vinegar and has a satisfying heat that tickles the tongue and goes great on everything. The plato vegetariano was the epitome of simple and satisfying: potatoes in a delicious and herby sauce; a fresh salad of lettuce, onion, and tomato; a fried slice of plantain; a mound of perfectly-cooked rice; and a cup of beans. It was comforting without being heavy. The dessert menu featured familiar favorites and one that was completely new to me: higos con queso. While I went with the flan, I did get to sneak a bite of this unusual and intriguing dessert: the figs are poached but retain their firmness and are served with a firm and salty cheese. The figs and cheese come with the poaching liquid, which is not sweet but also not quite savory--it's got quite a depth of flavor and makes for a truly unique dish. I recommend it if you prefer to end your meal with something that isn't super sweet. (If, on the other hand, you prefer a more traditional dessert, the flan here is lovely: a bit sturdier than some you may have had, it's got the right blend of sweet and caramelized--it was just right!) Street parking is available nearby, but if you come later in the evening, it will probably park up. This is a great choice for families and friends!

Named for perseverance and determination, Ena is a Latin fusion restaurant harmonizing flavors from Central and South America through a French technical lens, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. Chef-Owner Hector Ruiz's cooking reflects both formal culinary training and a clear respect for heritage, with sustainability woven into the way ingredients are chosen and treated. Seafood plays a leading role on the menu, handled with clear confidence throughout. The result feels thoughtful rather than showy, with hospitality that mirrors that same care. - Ceviche: A confident blend of Mexican and Peruvian influence. Chiles and ají amarillo set the tone, sharpened by pickled onion and lime. Balanced heat, clean acidity, and texture that stays true to form. Everything a ceviche should deliver. - Pasta de Langosta: Pappardelle with shrimp and lobster, well executed. Comforting without feeling heavy, this dish pulls together technique and flavor in a way that feels purposeful rather than indulgent. - Pescado: Blue and yellow corn-crusted red snapper paired with mole poblano and roasted tomatillo-guajillo salsa. The interplay of acidity, warmth, and depth complements the fish without overpowering it. Served over a crisp polenta cake with caramelized mushrooms, it's a smartly layered dish that stays focused. - Spanish Flan: a creamy vanilla custard with glossy caramel, accented by lemon-infused whipped cream and strawberry sauce, closed this meal on a high note. The cocktails strike a solid balance--spirited, and playful. The beverage list spans wine, cocktails, mocktails, beer, and seasonal offerings. A meal that stayed with me and IMO, worth adding to your next dinner rotation.
