Clockwise: sautéed pea shoots, salted donut, wonton noodle soup, bbq pork

This place is delicious! The noodle and dumpling soup was flavorful and delicious, sautéed pea shoots had a perfectly balanced texture, the sliced pork was moist; the real surprise was the egg and shrimp over noodles. I was a little skeptical when ordering, but was so pleasantly surprised; the flavors are light and clean, you can taste each unique ingredient and the texture of the shrimp was firm with a little snap when bit into and perfectly cooked. Make sure to order Chinese salted donut! The servers were efficient and friendly, and the ambiance is bright and clean. Great for a couple, but if you come with 4 or more, you'll be able to comfortably try more dishes. We're visiting from Los Angeles for a couple of days and we will absolutely be coming back before leaving.

Our long time go to for reliable affordable Chinese food. We are from Hong Kong and in laws are super picky about good quality and price and they are always happy to eat here. Service is warmer than some other Asian places. Definitely recommend.

Every time I come here, it's because I am craving the flavour of home and my childhood. On this particular day, I was working from my friend's house, cat-sitting, and I was craving wonton noodle soup for lunch. Congee Noodle House was pretty busy for lunchtime, with a short lineup for takeout at the counter. The lady behind the counter is extremely efficient and direct, which I find really great to cut through all the noise and chaos of the restaurant. I ordered a wonton noodle soup with beef brisket (this cost extra) for takeout. It came out after about 10 minutes. My photo is after I plated the takeout into a bigger bowl, which just made my eating experience much better lol. The wonton soup was everything I wanted! Big shrimp flavour, clear tasty soup broth, well-cooked noodles and vegetables. The additional beef brisket was good too; I find their beef to be tender and flavourful. I did think that the beef pieces were a little too fatty to my liking, though that's what made it taste so good... The serving was a good size, because I was full! Will definitely be back!

Old school Hk congee, rice noodles & wonton noodles, After a lengthy closure due to collapsed parking lot. Finally re- opening after repairs, inside cleaned and refreshed. Same food as before, Loved my comfort foods, fish congee, scramble egg shrimp rice noodles and wonton noodles. Highly recommended

The OG Congee Noodle House! Decided to visit after reopening and the food is how I remembered it to be. It was fresh, hearty and plenty . The place has gotten some renovations since I've been and looks like they've added a room for private functions. Service was so- so. The try the silver fish and their assortment of congee.

I was so looking forward to my visit Saturday night as this was one of my favorite places. What a disappointment! Silverfish, flavor was good, but the fish itself was like leather, and perhaps sitting in the freezer since they last opened. Was chewy, and tasted freezer burned. Mixed braised pork noodle. Who in Vancouver serves this cold? Tasted like pork jerky. Again chewy was the theme though serving was generous, but way way way too much oil. Garlic snow pea shoots was the best item, fresh and as expected. Mike tea was ok, but too much evaporated milk. Congee was fine though a little runny. Lastly, I still don't get it. Why do Chinese people think they can be rude to their own kind? Will never get it!!!

Congee Noodle House was closed for a long time. They recently reopened and we were so happy to finally be able to dine at this old favourite of ours. Wonton Noodle Soup Sliced Fish Congee Salted Chinese Doughnut Wonton Noodle soup came with 5 pieces of wonton. The wonton dumplings were big, with lots of big chunks of prawn inside. There was more prawn than pork inside these dumplings, which @soldbytimtham loved. Soup broth was quite standard in terms of flavor but still very tasty. Sliced Fish Congee had a nice, smooth texture. As warm, hearty and tasty as we remembered it, and the Chinese Doughnut paired very nicely with it. They've revamped their menu. While it has the old classics on it, it has some fancier new additions to it as well. For example, there's a page in the menu for Peking Duck, and also one page dedicated to Vegetarian items. The one thing I really wish they would add is a Vegetarian Congee. It's great that they have Vegetarian offerings but with a name like Congee Noodle House, I find it surprising that they don't have a Vegetarian option for the main food their restaurant is known for! Service: Good Parking: Limited free parking at the back of the restaurant. Otherwise, it's paid parking on the street. Location: 141 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC

Delicious! I have not been since COVID or the fire. It's just like I remembered. The portions and price is reasonable. Service is nothing to brag about but at least they serve you quickly. The place is clean. Only complaint is obviously parking. Don't bother parking using their lot unless you want dings. Off street parking or bus is the best way to get there

Delicious food. Food service was fast. A bit noisy, but that's typical for Hong Kong style Chinese restaurant that is high-end.

No wait to be seated on a weekday at 11AM. Decently close to the trolley station as well so it's walkable if you're rolling on public transit. Here's the thing, you can have a 3 star or 5 star experience depending on your order. The roast goose was pretty mid, too chewy and a bit gamey. The roast pork skin was so crunchy that it was almost hard to eat and the meat itself was also slightly tough. However, the char siu and soy sauce chicken here are life changingly good. Char siu is so fatty that it pretty much melts in your mouth and the outside is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The soy sauce chicken is just incredible. The scallion oil is the perfect bright complement to the uber tender, almost slippery chicken. Genuinely didn't think soy sauce chicken could be the best item at a Chinese bbq place, but HK BBQ showed me how it's done.

Plus the food is ready to go. Will definitely come back here again. Remember cash only. We only had US dollars and they accommodated us.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

There are fish tanks with live fish and lobsters floating around, and ordering is done the old-school way on a paper slip where you mark the quantity you want. The shui mai, har gow, and char siu bao were all much larger than I expected, so my friends and I played it safe and still ended up with way too much food. Not a bad problem to have, but definitely come hungry. The service was also better than what I've experienced at a lot of dim sum places, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable.
