Stopped here for dinner before a show at The Embassy Saturday night around 5:00. We hadn't made reservations but the attentive wait staff got us a table within a half an hour. The food was wonderful! I got the Baja Fish Tacos (the creamed corn side was delish!) My husband got the Wagu Bacon Cheeseburger...oh my! I also tried the Lavender Haze Cocktail...YUM! This place was great! My buddy and I went here just to give it a try and we were not disappointed! We started with the lump crab hush puppies and they happened to be half price! They were the best part of the meal hands down! We also happened to go on $5 old fashioned night so we both had one of those! They were pretty tasty as well! This is a great restaurant I would go to with friends or coworkers for a casual relaxing place. I felt welcome from the moment I walked in until I left. The host and the server were very friendly! The menu is unique and definitely interesting for Fort Wayne. One thing I have to rave about is the cornbread muffins. It come in either 3 or 5 muffins. 3 is perfect for two people but I wish I would've ordered 5 so I could take some home. Superrr yummy. I had the enchiladas and they were also great. My boyfriend had the wings and I'm a bit confused as to there being no disclaimer on the buffalo sauce. It was VERY spicy. Not like typical buffalo sauce which is something I think should never made known. The wings also had a smoky flavor which to some may be their cup of tea but not mine. The line that killed me from the so-called manager, Mason was, "You shouldn't order the best if you can't afford it." Listen, kid. I've had plenty of pricey liquors and that comment is exactly why you will not make it in hospitality. Here's the quick rundown to spare you the boring, rude details: I didn't order the shot by name. A brand was suggested unintelligibly by another bartender in passing who was not my server, my server agreed, "it's good". and I said we would try it. Fast forward to my bill being $150 for four rocks drinks (gin &tonic/vodka 7) and two shots of tequila. Adding insult, the bartender who suggested the brand said he would pay for it and took my ticket. He lied. I was charged the entire amount according to my bank. What kind of low-class place is this? Nothing on that menu spoke to us so we decided to go with a safe option, the Caesar salad. I have to say it was the worst Caesar salad I've ever had. It was iceberg lettuce with a little dressing mixed in. That's it. Not Romain lettuce, no croutons, no Parmesan. $9 for about 30 cents of blah ingredients. We were seated on the opposite side of the restaurant from the door and the place was empty except for a couple people near the door and bar top. Service wasn't good since we were placed on an island and wouldn't see anyone until they felt like walking all the way across the place. We tried a new place and this is what we got. I ate here with a party of about 12 for a surprise 40th for my sister on Friday, 11/15/17. I tried reaching out to the restaurant via their website on Monday and have gone over 3 business days with no response. The restaurant was nice, we were seated promptly, the drinks were good, and the food was great, especially the crab hush puppies. The problem was with service, and then lack of response and follow-up. We were decorating our table prior to the guests arriving and the first thing our server, either Teri or Teresa, based upon our receipts, said to me was "I'll get you a broom." I had to ask for water carafes for the table, and we had to wait long periods in between drinks. It did not appear to be a busy evening, and I was surprised to see that we didn't have 2 servers. The manager's "table touch" was bringing a beer over, sloshing it as he set it down, and dismissing the gnat that was at our table the entire evening. He blamed the gnat on the boxed-up cake we brought in. Maybe I expect too much, but none of the staff even wished a Happy Birthday or provided any special touches. We were charged an auto gratuity of 20% I understand that can be added for large groups, but it felt more like a spite addition than a policy. It also prevented anyone from tipping higher, as we normally would have. We still gave our server cake and my brother-in-law even helped bus at least half of the table. The busser was, without a doubt, the nicest employee we spoke with. I'm sorry I didn't get his name. He was kind, considerate and didn't rush us. Kudos to him. read more

I tried Connor's Kitchen and Bar tonight because I'm staying at the Courtyard Marriott where it's located and was exhausted from a long day, hoping for a nice meal. Expectations and reality were sadly very far apart. I ordered the Raspberry Bee's Knees. It tasted like cider. I also ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The flavor was very good with a mix of bacon, almonds, and pepper, yet the sprouts were a bit undercooked and hard to chew at times. My main was the grilled filet mignon. I had to send it back twice. While you'll notice it's even noted on my receipt, I ordered the filet medium. The first time it was still moo-ing. That filet was rare. I had trouble getting the manager's attention as he was talking to someone at the bar. My waitress was nowhere around, so I pushed my plate away from me and waited. It took awhile, but the manager finally came over and asked if everything was tasting ok. I told him no, and explained how the filet was supposed to be medium. He apologized, and took it back to the kitchen. Later while I waited for my steak to come back, another waiter came over and asked if everything was tasting ok. I explain to him what happened and he went and told my waitress. I expected that between the three people that now knew about the situation that somehow it would end up better on the second attempt. Boy was I wrong. The filet came back; the same one I had already cut into. It was very well-done at that part, however when I cut into the other end it was as rare as the first time. I was asked if I wanted it re-fired again. Since it seemed highly unlikely that they would get it right the third time, I declined and asked them to take it off my bill, which they did. read more

It's stylish without being pretentious. Slick but comfortable. Our waitress Terry was exceptional. Attentive, naturally friendly and professional. The menu said southern fried chicken. Usually that's BS. It's Indiana and I'm from the south so my expectations were low. I was totally wrong. One of the best fried chickens I've ever had. Sides were solid, others in our party had salad and fish. Both were great but the fried chicken was the star of the show. Cocktails were well done. Overall a bit expensive for chicken ft Wayne but just slightly. It is attached to a hotel and right downtown so the price is less to an you might expect. Love it, highly recommend! read more
