This place didn't have the same effect like it did the last time I went. Our server was Sara she was sweet and very attentive. However things still came up short. I loved my blackberry mock-tale. I'm a fan of ginger beer and they knocked it out the park. The jalapeño hush puppies were good but kind of dry. Also I got onion soup that was ok with more cheese than soup. All of our dishes came out warm not hot,which lead us to believe that it wasn't served immediately. Plus the menu items were very different than what I remember. Visited for Sunday brunch. Had the Bubbles and Bruch experience. Which was plenty for the two of us. Everything on the menu sounded so good we had a hard time deciding so we decided to split a few things . We started off with the Lump crab hush puppies. They were delicious. We then ordered both Smoked Brisket Hash the Pecan Praline French Toast to share. The hash had a great BBQ flavor. I don't like fatty meat. So I did have to dig around to find pieces that weren't fatty. But overall excellent flavor and the potatoes were cooked well. The Pecan Praline French toast was perfection. Not overly sweet. Drinks only review: My brother and I stopped in for a quick drink because his name was Conner and it's spelled exactly the same way as the restaurant. I really liked the atmosphere of this place as they have an indoor and outdoor section. The outdoor section faces the street and had a couple of seating areas and the inside was upscale as well offering a rustic industrial like feel. We ordered some drinks which was fine , a little expensive but it's probably because we were downtown I don't remember the service being over the top nice. The bartender came off a little rude but overall my brother and I had a good time. We opted to not stay and head somewhere else for dinner. read more

I had an opportunity to have a working lunch here today. The service was top tier! Troy was manager on duty and his demeanor and kindness was duly noted. Nick was our server, his attention to detail and kindness was unmatched. The atmosphere and scenery are amazing. There's ton of seating and foliage. There are groups of succulents all around and other air quality improvement plants. I had the queso and chips. The dip was good but the chips were just a smidge stale. I always feel like I need to ask for everything. It can get a bit annoying. May I have straw? Could I trouble for napkins? May have a few to-go boxes? Do you have smaller to-go boxes? Could I have a BAG for my to-go boxes? Perhaps I am being a bit nit-picky but at some point it is nice to be served. Have a true dinning out experience. Close to the convention center and very spacious, high ceiling, relaxed vibe. Menu is not too overwhelming and everything looked good. We had the grilled cheese with bacon added; the bread was a perfect sourdough and it hit the spot. The fries were skinny and crispy and perfect saltiness. The PIG Sandwich also very delicious. I'm only giving four stars because of the printed beer menu. Sorry! All it lists is the brewery and the city but doesn't list the beers that are available. Unfortunately, our server was not very knowledgeable about any of it and I ended up getting a beer that I didn't want. And if I'd seen the name of the beer I definitely would not have ordered it. Conner's Kitchen bar is just off the Marriott in between the Westin off Maryland. It's a little unassuming on a mild February day. Wasn't sure what big was hungry for while walking over from the Homewood, but wanted something different. It was a Sunday and I am never sure of what restaurants are open, especially when I stay downtown. Upon entering the first thing I smelled was the sweet smell of maple syrup and cinnamon. I seated myself at the far end of the bar facing the restaurant entrance, easier to people watch that way. The bartender was quick with a menu and some water. He gave me time to read the brunch menu and then provided me with suggestions, which was the Smoked Brisket Hash. He stated it's cooked slowly for 8 hours and is served with potatoes veggies and a fried egg on top. So I went with his recommendation. While I waited for food I noticed even at 1:30 pm the bar area was still packed and people had a lot of food on their tables. The poor guy next to me was finishing and you could tell by his body language he had eaten way too much of his praline-coated French toast that looked more like a big piece of cake. My food came out pretty quickly and was nice and warm. The meat was super tender and the sauce was a bit spicy, which was fine for me but might cause others to shy away. The atmosphere was vibrant and despite how busy it didn't seem that loud. I will be back for their regular menu. read more

Stayed in the hotel for the night and decided I need something quick and easy after working long 6 days straight. I went to the host table and said, "Hi, just one." casually. Host lady Erika replied back "HELLO?!? HELLO?" I was shocked why she's giving me this type of manner as a restaurant worker.. and why. so I said um Hi.. then she continued "there you go HAHAHA"... i said. I said Hi just as I approached ... she continued that I didn't and argued how I didn't respond her. why am I getting this type of service as a customer ?? I am so confused. Definitely wasn't necessary and created a horrible impression for the restaurant itself. I've turned around because I didn't think my own time and money is worth this place. Nobody wanna eat in any restaurant how you treat customer like this. Erika, if you can't let it go any conversation error, and be so quick to judge maybe customer service isn't a place for you. Sure in Europe, hotel restaurants are actually the spendy, high quality eateries, but here in the good ole US they tend to be sub par almost being tourist quality fare. This place is in the Marriott Downtown, so of course I was doubtful. But meetings went late and the people I was with were hungry so we grabbed a table. How glad I am we did. The burger was fantastic! Fresh greens, need patties perfectly cooked medium rare. The cheese was melted just right, and juices were flowing down my chin despite my best attempts at propriety. Although I can't vouch for it myself, the fried chicken looked amazing and my colleague confirmed it. So although there are some great places nearby in downtown Indy, if you're looking for a quality meal without having to leave the lobby, you should grab a table yourself. read more

The ambience and vibe of this restaurant is top-notch. And that's sort of where it ends in terms of being outstanding. My niece and I went to grab something to eat prior to going to a baseball game. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, but then waited for what felt like an unreasonable amount of time for anyone to come and give us water. Welcome us and take our order. The restaurant was not overly busy by any stretch of the imagination and there seem to be several employees walking around so that was a bit offputting. We ordered truffle fries and the lobster crab hush puppies. Hush puppies were very good. Highly recommend those if you do end up eating here. The truffle fries were meh at best... the fries were undercooked and soggy. They were served with just ketchup...seems super weird because I feel like truffle fries at minimum need to come with mayonnaise if not an aïoli. We were rarely checked on throughout the time we were there I would say twice wants to take our order, the food runner dropped our food, and then our check was brought to us. For the price and location, I would think there would be better service, and food. The restaurant did not look overwhelmed, and in fact, the staff was at times just standing around chitchatting with each other. I doubt we will be coming back. read more

My parents nor I wanted to host, cook/clean for Thanksgiving. Conner's was thankfully open and allowed for reservations. They had their lunch menu available during the day and no special menu or extras for Thanksgiving. We started with the BLT deviled eggs with peppered aioli. The app comes with four eggs topped with bacon, tomatoes and lettuce, dont forget to make sure you slide your egg in the aioli on the bottom. Next we ordered the smoked brisket tacos, fish tacos, Notorious PIG and grilled cheese for lunch and French Onion soup. The french onion soup came out first after what seemed like a little long of a wait and then the food came a little longer after. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. My mom and I traded our tacos so we could try one of each the brisket and fish. The brisket was by far my favorite of the two. The tacos were enormous!! So...A few months ago I participated in my first Yelp Mazes through the Marriott event and I was the recipient of a complementary dinner for 4 with a restaurant of my choosing within the Marriott Indy Place restaurant group! I selected Conner's Kitchen + Bar located in downtown Indianapolis inside Marriott Indy place. Last night, our party of 4 joined for a fabulous dinner and double date, starting off with a complimentary bottle of wine. We selected the Chardonnay after the recommendation from the restaurant's AMG. We shared a bottle and our table had two complimentary appetizers including our choice of the Lump Crab Hushpuppies (Fan favorite and most ordered appetizer at this restaurant) and Roasted Brussel Sprouts (the Brussels were a group favorite). Four entrees could be selected so our group chose the Shrimp and Grits, Fish Tacos, Southern Fried Chicken, and Fresh Sirloin plates. The menu is a larger variety of American classic dishes, savory and large portions! Your party can choose from the menu and everyone should be able to leave full and satisfied. (I mostly took reels and videos of the food so not able to add to this review but believe me they looked and tasted as great as my entree!) This was the perfect night to unwind, enjoy indoor seating along with the outdoor breeze and watching the fire pit displays on the patio. We enjoyed a few cocktails ordered individually, and finished off our dinner with complimentary desserts. My friends shared the Butter Cake with vanilla ice cream and I had a Moscato on the house. With outstanding hospitality, and out of sheer gratitude we generously left a tip for our waitress and thanked the entire staff. Garage parking is validated at the end of your reservation (so no worrying about finding street parking in Downtown). I highly recommend checking out Conner's Kitchen + Bar on game days, football season is here! The bar is top notch and there are plenty of tv screens to catch the most watched games. Go Colts! I've been to Conner's a couple times and always enjoy the food ( the salads here never disappoint) and drinks. The service and atmosphere is always great as well. Sometimes it can be a little loud and it is a hotel restaurant so it can get really hectic during events. I stopped in for dinner and cocktails. They have a great menu with many mouthwatering items. So much I decided to come back for breakfast. I love a wedge salad so the BLT salad was calling my name. It was a large salad, very filling and just what I wanted. I also had to try the crab hushpuppies. Also, very yummy. I do wish there was more crab, but still something I would order again. For breakfast the next morning I had to try the lemon pancakes, very very yummy! All in all I had a pleasant experience. When you first walk into Conner's you can't help but take in the ambiance and open lighting of the space. We were very excited for our brunch and quickly sat down. The manager Jeff was very accommodating and even offered us cocktails as we sat down. Overall the service was 5 stars. Though on the other hand I felt the food was sub par because of under seasoned hash browns and egg white omelette. The poached egg on the avocado bruschetta was not poached properly as the egg was slightly too runny. However, the lemon pancakes were to DIE for! Just the right amount of lemon and not too tart. I've been wanting to try Conner's for a while and decided to stop by for dinner with a friend. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we visited and we were seated right away. They have a full bar, with several tv's playing different sporting events. For my meal, I decided to go with the southern fried chicken. I was surprised when the waitress said it comes with four pieces of chicken, so depending on your appetite you can definitely share with someone. It comes with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and hot honey drizzle for the chicken. I substituted the mashed potatoes for fries. Overall, the food was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of crunch. I did want a little more spice than what the hot honey drizzle had to offer so I asked the waitress for hot sauce. She brought out Tabasco sauce and Cholula. I wasn't surprised, but not what I wanted. If you're going to serve "southern" fried chicken, you should have the proper hot sauce to serve with it. That won't deter me from visiting again though! I'll definitely be visiting again when it's warmer to take advantage of the outdoor seating and to try their other menu options. read more

Conner's kitchen reminds me of upscale bar food but in a positive way. I came on Sunday evening with some friends and was surprised to find it pretty empty. We started by ordering some appetizers and starters on the patio. I got the margarita that they were featuring and wow it was delicious. We also got the deviled eggs and my only complaint is that the there wasn't more. It's a little uncomfortable to eat a full meal outside as the tables are pretty low so we went inside and had dinner. I have recently stayed at the Marriott and decided to give Conner's Kitchen a try. I found the crab hush puppies to be very flavorful for an appetizer. Their beer selection is pretty good and the bartender was gracious enough to walk me thru his entire selection that night (Thank you man - the six foot strawberry blonde ale was delicious) For the main course I decided on wagyu steak fritters and the steak came out the right temperature and very flavorful.
