The owners, managers and wait staff here are awesome. I held an event and they truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience, good food, and everything we needed. Conor O'Neill's has been the neighborhood gem of downtown Ann Arbor, for as long as I have lived here. Hoppin night life, best bar downtown to watch a sports event, I have been most impressed with the lunch specials at Conor's lately. Best lunch special days (IMO) are Tuesday and Wednesday. I am not one for a roast beef sandwich, however, on advise from the bartender, I was pleasantly surprised. It was fantastic. Cheese, bacon, with a horseradish cream sauce on the side. Soup pairing is chicken tortilla. At $6, it's the best deal in downtown for a good hot lunch. Get a punch card for a slight discount and free lunch special when you fill the card. Solid Irish dive in Ann Arbor. Didn't partake in any food here but had a pint on our bar crawl of the evening. Not a huge selection of beers on tap and mostly just your standard run of the mill beers. I just ended up with a Newcastle. Everything is still fairly averagely priced. I decided to stop here during one of my Ann Arbor bar crawls. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty slow. I sat at the bar and waited for service. A bartender greeted me after a few minutes then came back a few more after that to take my order. They have a decent draft list with plenty of Irish beers to choose from, along with some tasty local craft beer. The atmosphere was alright, but nothing wowed me about the place. Fun place to come with friends to grab a drink. Also have decently good food if you're looking for some bar food or sandwiches. Prices for drinks are a bit on the high side for well cocktails but on average normal prices for beer. There is a great selections of beers and you'll definitely be able to find one that you like. Happy hour is also available if you get there early enough you can score drinks and apps for $5 a piece. Bartenders are nice but the bar area is surprisingly small. Maybe 10 chairs or so in total which is low for an irish tavern. Cocktails came in a small glass but were good pours. Plenty of TVs throughout to watch any sporting events or even after a game would be a great spot as well. Decent amount of outdoor seating right on main street which is a nice bonus for people watching. Parking can be tricky and you'll definitely have to pay to park wherever you find a spot. read more

10/17/20 --- Same great waitress as last time (Riley(sp?)). This time we split the Chicken Tenders appetizer (very good) and then split a burger. The burger was quite tasty, but the onion rings that came with the burger were crispy on the outside, but limp and moist inside (just like the fish in the Fish-n-Chips from our last visit). I think it's time to change the oil in the deep-fat fryer and even perhaps check the temperature on that unit. read more

I simply stumbled in here as every other place had a 30+ minute wait. Was actually on the way to another place and happened to see it in passing. And damn am I glad I did. The host was extremely prompt and gave me the options available before seating. Server was busy but had a great balance of checking in and leaving me be. The busing I noticed was quick and communicative. I ended up going with the simple American Burger and it was AMAZING. I would have scaled it down a bit so you could take proper bites, but otherwise it was absolutely phenomenal. The decor is unique and matches the theme. My only "complaint" is that it was quite loud. However, I'm aware I came in at dinner time on a Saturday night in a college town. So in reality I'm just getting old haha. Prices were a touch high for my liking, but for the area I think they're extremely fair for the portions. Would recommend and hope to visit again. read more

Conor's had basically kept us fed midst pandemic. Once a week, our food would be from them. Always consistent and quality. We always get the Shepherd's Pie and the Guinness& jameson pulled pork. Both yummy in their equal ways. Picking up food was always a breeze. They have also thrown in couple of gift cards from time to time. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Service was amazing and highly attentive, never had to wait around to get refills or anything. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant and area, amazing place to get a burger or sandwich while downtown in Ann Arbor. Great Irish pub! We came here for dinner before the first game of the season. It was busy, but not crowded. The food is quite good. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the spicy Thai wrap. We both really enjoyed our meals. They also have a nice beer selection. There is a full bar, too; if that is your preference. Our server was Aoife. She was so friendly and took great care of us. Just keep in mind that it has a lot of TVs and people come to watch sports and cheer their favorite team. If a big game is on, you're not going to have a quiet dinner. We stopped into Conor O'Neill's for the umpteenth time on Friday, January 6 before our concert at The Ark. We had the dinner & concert ticket, which is a great bargain! We really like the layout of the pub and can honestly say that we've not had bad service any of the numerous times we've dined there. It should be mentioned that our favorite server is Inga. Not that anyone else needs to know that but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. As with any good meal one must begin with a good drink. For me, it's a nice glass of Hoegaarden witbier. For my wife and her friends it's a glass of sangria, and for my friends it usually ends up being a properly pulled pint of Guinness. As far as the food is concerned, us and our friends have tried most everything on the menu and have always been satisfied. My favorites are Kate's Shepherd's Pie and the Homemade Chicken Pot Pie. However, during this visit I tried the Traditional Fish & Chips for the first time. I usually don't eat breaded & deep fried fish because it either is drowning in grease and/or it has too much batter. Nonetheless, I gave it a go. I was pleasantly surprised that the fish wasn't as greasy as I had expected nor was the Bass Ale batter overwhelming. The spicy malt vinegar sauce that was served with the fish had a nice flavor but didn't overpower the fish. We were all feeling really good so we splurged and had dessert. My wife and I shared the bread pudding with whiskey sauce. It was so good that I threatened to pick the plate up and lick it! Overall, it was another fine experience at Conor O'Neill's and we would certainly recommend this pub to anyone that asks. read more

I liked it here and it was a tasty bargain for restaurant week. We started off splitting some calamari which was our default pick. He is not a huge spinach and artichoke guy, mushrooms are out of the question for him and I ate enough potato skin type things in the early eighties to last me a lifetime thanks. Calamari it was and although I was nervous, it actually was not a bad rendition. It was cooked just right and the sauce was fine with it. They gave us a bonus course set of 5 oz beer samplers (3) with a 5 oz cider too. James kept the beers and I took the cider. Happy. It was just right and a great add. For dinner, he went with fish and chips and he was pleased. Nicely flaky fish and the coating was just right. He was not into the sauce but I quite liked it. He usually eats his fish plain at any rate. I had the shepherd's pie and I enjoyed it. The beef and lamb combo works with the bass ale gravy. Not dry at all thank goodness. Perfect for a cold January night. The dessert though was by far the best part of our 2 for 25 deal. The bread pudding is absolutely delicious. Just sweet and rich and totally satisfying. A great share portion for us. I do have to say that they really gave us great value for our money, big portions and nice tastes. I was here with coworkers for lunch and a brief meeting on a weekday, but can imagine a lively place in the evening and on weekends, particularly game day. The food is good and there is a decent selection-the white chicken chili was good with some spice to it, and the fish sandwich was solid-good for lunch. One of my lunch companions had the Donegal Fry, which would be a perfect thing to get for a hangover or before a day of tailgating. Eggs, tomato slices, breakfast potatoes, sausage and Irish bacon. I've been here several times, but most recently I took my parents here for a meal over Thanksgiving holiday. We sat at a table by the fire and each of us ordered something different. I had the fish and chips, with a cup of potato and leak soup - both were exceptional. As a side note, Conor's has the best fish and chips that I know of! The fish are consistently crispy and delicious, and I don't know how they prepare the chips, but they always turn out awesome as well. O'Neill's has a very cozy, authentic feel to it - I think they imported half the staff from Ireland. :-) If you're looking for a great casual luncheon or dining experience, look no further than Conor's. read more

First time visit to Ann Arbor and brought beautiful weather. The Main Street was jumping the night before the game. Wait time was long everywhere so we decided to jump into this place to grab a beer. Luckily, they will serve food to you standing up. No table required! The place is super loud and tons of tvs to watch other sports. Our food was typical bar food except the items with an Irish flare (I.e., Shepherds pie) The burger was perfectly cooked and the bun was the perfect size (as little red riding hood would say...not too big and not too small). Mine came with a HUGE onion ring (Nice touch). For large groups who need a good place to eat and don't mind noise and eat standing up...this is your place. Fast service on drinks and food! I've been here a decent number of times over the years, and it's been a hit-or-miss with the service and food (although the misses with the food aren't actually misses--just not really anything memorable). The bread pudding is really good though, and I get it almost every time I'm here. I recommend splitting it with someone else though, since it has a lot of sugar. And probably butter. These are some of the other menus that I remember trying: Fish & Chips - They are good, and I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say they are the best I've ever tasted. Galway Bay Mussels - Also pretty good but slightly watered down the night I got them. Maybe it was an off night, but I'm afraid of getting these again and being disappointed. Darragh's Turkey Reuben - Also good, but nothing stood out about it because all I can remember is not disliking it. I don't know if my opinion of this place is lower than it otherwise would be because I'm pretty sure my credit card data was stolen after a security breach with their credit card system back in 2011... I find it totally baffling that they ever retained customers' credit card numbers in their computers in the first place, and now I'm paranoid whenever I eat here... hopefully their computers are more secure by now though... read more

I worked here in college and that was a minute ago... This place hasnt changed a bit and thats a good thing. They have plenty of space for groups. Also, plenty of tables for sitting and munching. I like both things. We stopped through here on our mini-reunion during homecoming weekend. The staff were fantastic and patient with our over 30-trying-to-still-be-coolness. That was not a common theme throughout the weekend but Conor O'Neill's has it right. Appreciated being back and our crew enjoyed our time here. Worth a stop in. We stopped in at Conor O'Neill's on Thanksgiving Eve to catch a special comedy show in their small nightclub-style venue in the separate room behind the bar. Every Thanksgiving, Ann Arbor native and now nationally recognized comic Mike Kosta does a show at Conor O'Neill's when he flies in from LA to eat turkey with his family. Many of his old friends turn out to see the comic when in town for this annual rite of Thanksgiving. Before the show started, we grabbed a few appetizers for the table including an order of Mary's Chicken Fingers with their Guinness Honey Mustard Sauce, a plate of Colm's Calamari with their Spicy Cocktail Sauce and an order of Conor's Fries. Washing it all down with a few cold craft brews did a great job of readying us for Kosta's comedy routine. Conor O'Neill's, in the heart of downtown A-Squared, once again came through with their tasty bar food, cold brewskis and a fun atmosphere with friends...can't beat it with a stick. read more

I had Guiness, of course - not just because *yum* but also as Conor's is donating money this spring for every Irish beer sold to some charity or another. I can't seem to find the Burger that I ate on the online menu - I think it was called the Big Blue. I changed out American cheese for Swiss, but otherwise it was perfect.
