I've been here four times and I live locally I've emphasized every time getting your burrito refried beans but they only give me whole beans saying they have refried beans. I think the cooks don't give a shit and just give whatever they want. So they want my business and 13 of my friends are live locally they might want to check themselves because their services is good but the customer service one listen to customers is garbage. If you want to just get whatever they want to serve you enjoy yourself, but they don't , listen to directions asking what you prefer. I'm a big fan. My wife and I shop here frequently when we need to stock up on perishables. Great for those smaller weekly runs for meet, veggies, and eggs. The produce is fresh and the meat is great. They also season up their own carne asada and it's fantastic. Additionally, they make their own salsa (they've got it spicy) and it's totally addicting. If you ask, they may have tamales available too. They DO take credit/debit cards. The folks are SUPER nice. The butcher always has a smile and recommendation and you can tell he loves his work and his customers. Great great Mexican market. read more

Consuelo Market has a large variety of products from Central America and Mexico at really good prices. I really like to shop here because the staff is super friendly and helpful. grabbed an Al Pastor super burrito here on Saturday...super just means they add sour cream btw. al pastor = marinated pork. I asked to hold the rice. hubby and I shared a large horchata...which the guy asked me, do you want ice? I couldn't believe it, I was so excited...normally it's just automatic. so excited and appreciative...just a little please, thanks!! our food came up pretty quick (hubby got a carnitas super burrito), and he enjoyed his. for me, the al pastor wasn't everything I'd hoped for. I definitely liked it, but I have a favorite al pastor super burrito elsewhere that I'll use now as "the bar". They had tons of meat options available so I'm definitely excited to return and try the other many choices! Also on Saturday nights, they have an event of sorts where they fire up the outside patio grills and have some good looking food. OK, I gotta first give the disclaimer that I know the owners. But, they are the best fricken taco's I have ever had! Their Carne Asada tacos are marinated in something heavenly and they are really cheap. I order mine gringo style with "tamate et lachuga" (lettuce and tomatoes instead of the onions and cilantro). the red salsa is just a shy side of thermonuclear. The green sauce on the enchiladas is tangy awesome. couple of tacos, an enchilada, and a coke usually run be 5-6 bucks. They also have a restaurant only on Vasco, next to Starbucks. This review is well overdue. I want to love this store because the cashier is always so nice & they seem to have so much but I am very dissatisfied. I went there Wed, 8/4/21 and their fresh jalapeños were so shriveled, old looking. It's been a few times I go and find old looking meat. I bought queso fresco but seriously, it does not taste fresh at all. December 2020 I walked to their meat dept located in back. I asked for pata de res (beef feet) $26 to make Menudo. I kept getting sour/spoiled odor but I purchased so many groceries that Christmas Eve close to closing time, I was not sure where or why the odor. Got home, putting away groceries. Start getting together everything to start cooking menudo, open the bag w/pata and it was grossly slimy & very spoiled smelling. Store closed & $26 down the drain. There is NO WAY the Butcher missed the bad odor, he had to of known it was spoiled sour but decided to package & sell it that way. That is unacceptable. I assumed next day they closed since it was Christmas Day. Beware when shopping, check everything before leaving and I think I will never go back. I have taken a loss on other items that were not worth my drive back as I live about 45 mins away but $26 loss & this week has sealed it for me. read more

The market itself is just fine, but friends...you must checkout their tacos. First, they are cheap...at a 1.25 per--its still a good deal. Second, OMG yum. Third, Coke in the glass bottle. Great market. Friendly and helpful workers. They have a great selection of Mexican foods. We were visiting California from Canada and wanted to purchase reasonably priced dried Chilies. They had exactly what we were looking for. If we lived closer we would have purchased a lot more because we can't get many mexican cooking supplies in Canada. read more

We walked inside to try out the food because its one of the very few Mexican places we haven't tried in Livermore and the place smelled like a bathroom and the kitchen was FILTHY!! I have never eaten inside so this review is strictly for the taco stand they set up from Thursday - Sunday from 8pm - 12am (sooner if they run out of meat which is rare and later if there's a late crowd) This small taco stand they set up at night on the weekend that includes a grill, a table holding a cash register, a trey of plastic utensils, a bag of napkins, and a stack of to go treys, and a cooler or two on the ground, and the two Mexican guys running it may look like a hole in the wall improperly ran 'restaurant' or 'eatery' but in reality is far from it. This place by far has the best tacos that I have ever had. This place has it all, great tasting food, cheap prices, super friendly workers, and great atmosphere. What it may lack in looks, it makes up for in every other department. At $1.50 a taco, and your choice of pork, steak, and beef tongue, you can really get your fill for a great price. Although I have never had the tongue the beef and pork are excellent and the sweet onions they throw in with them are to die or kill for. You can eat them plain if you want or have your option of 4 different salsas, cilantro, lime, and/or beet root. After you have your tacos in hand, dressed how you want, you can choose to drink anything from a few different flavors of Mexican Jarritos soda in the bottle, the main domestic sodas in the bottle, to the other random flavors of juice and water they may have laying in the cooler. Definitely a casual, inexpensive, and down to earth place to eat on a late weekend night. First come first serve, and first come first seat. Definitely a place to try before you die because no ones life is complete without the satisfaction of eating these tacos. The wonderful care free atmosphere make it nice to take your time eating and even kill some time and just hang out with some locals. I used to come here all the time because in my opinion it's one of the best places in town for Mexican food and its pretty cheap. I actually LOVED this place. But whenever one of the owners/managers works, they are just so rude and try charging me extra for everything! I usually get an esada burrito with cheese and my girlfriend gets the same, the total comes out to $11 Even. we each get two salsas (free) as well. But when the older man or the man with the shiny grill are present its 50 cents extra for cheese (which is understandable) and get ONE salsa opposed to four. They charge me 50 cents extra for each salsa so my new total is $13.50 for stuff I get for free. I know it's only $2.50 more but it's not about the money. They are extremely rude and customer service sucks. For owning and working at your own business they sure do know how to drive loyal customers away. I go here once a week with friends from work for lunch (I work in Livermore on the other side of town). I always get the veggie burrito, it is my favorite. Enough food for 2 days of lunch for $4.50! The owner is really friendly and always looks excited to see us when we come in. I'm always happy there. Just a good cheap meal. read more
