Stopped in here last night with my wife to watch the Laker game. We had spent Easter Sunday at her parents house nearby and "The Irish Pub" was her local hangout for years back in the day so we decided to stop in. There was no problem getting seats at the bar. It was around 7:00 on a Sunday. My wife recognized the bartender from ten years prior though he didn't seem to remember her. She said little had changed. All the '90s hip-hop blaring from the jukebox seemed a bit out of place in a suburban Irish-themed bar. But when Journey came on the whole place started to sing (correct pitch optional). That's when my wife said "Yep, nothing's changed." There is a slight sense of cliquishness, nothing bad, not from anything anyone says or does, just a vibe I guess. It's Happy Hour every day from open until 8. Can't beat that. Prices are very reasonable, and the bartender Mike made sure there was no delay between refills. We were able to watch hockey, basketball and baseball simultaneously. All good. Someone else noted the smoke. Funny that I grew up in the days when everyone smoked in a bar but now I can't tolerate it. There is always someone smoking right outside the front door and that will cost them a star. If 3 stars means A-OK then I see nothing wrong with giving them that rating. read more

Gotta hand it to em' - found what they do best (boozin mostly regulars in a very suburban setting) and stuck to it. No food (except popcorn) or pretense. Beers/drinks are cheaper than usual, the vibe is just about right for being located in a strip center in Carmel Mountain, and the folks are super cool. I have some family that lives close to here and it's not uncommon to find us here for hours at a time on Sunday for all the games. Lastly, although they do not serve food they could care two shits less if you head down to subway or Sombrero to get something and bring it in their bar. That's rad. read more

Everytime I go there, it's like a high school reunion! Like everyone points out, this place is indeed filled with drunk locals. Such a small place, and they just pack 'em in. Nothing ever seemed to be too crazy to get you kicked out... I've seen people puking all over the place, fights starting, etc. Wait, it's not as bad as I'm making it sound, those are just the rare occasions. But if you go, be prepared for anything. Nice little local Irish Pub. I'd come here if I wanted to be somewhere small and low key. In the peak hours this place can get packed quick. This place is a bit small in size and dark. This place isn't some run down dirty place. Come on, it's located in the suburbs. It does have that pub feel about this place. You'll definitely be bumping into some people you might know if you grew up in the area. If not, you'll definitely be physically bumping into people due to the sheer size of the place. Keep in mind there's limited seating so during peak time, you just might be standing. Bartenders are cool and the patrons are too. Plenty of TVs to watch your sports. Like any neighborhood pub, you'll get your share of the locals and the regulars. Just don't come in acting like an outsider and you'll be fine. My wife and I live down the street, so this is our bar. It's alittle small and it can be hard to move around on a game night, but it's a great place. The drinks are priced right and strong, the bartenders are awesome and usually know what you want if you're a regular. The crowd is pretty local, considering the bar is relatively hidden. The bartenders are all friendly and the pours are very heavy. Happy hour drinks are $2.75 for well drinks!! Love this place. Now, let's address the few mediocre reviews on Yelp. 1. The Jukebox is pay and play. So...if you "don't like" the music, put in a dollar and play any of the 500,000 songs on it - duh! 2. 95% of the people in this bar are friendly and have a smile and a joke at the ready. The other 5% just keep to themselves. If your complaint is that "people weren't friendly", I suggest that you look in the mirror. read more

"Irish Pub" is a misnomer. There is nothing Irish about this place at all. It's an American sports bar that doesn't serve any food. The last time I went, I asked for a Smithwick's, which is probably the most common Irish beer on tap, and got pointed to the most basic selection of domestic beers you can find. Sorry, I don't drink beer flavored water. On busy nights, expect packs of losers to hang in front of their doorway. I always show up with my girl, and can't help getting the rapey vibe from the muffled cat calls. It sucks, because I live here, and this upscale neighborhood deserves a friendly pub. read more

Great pub to have a couple drinks after work or a Slabratory show. The bartenders like Mikey D and Ashley are on point with pouring and showing common courtesy towards their patrons. The place brings an ambient of relaxation along with being able to mingle with other patrons. Been going here since for almost 20+ years and still going strong. It's about as plain and simple a bar as you can get. Nothing fancy. Relatively small. Just well made drinks served by very friendly barkeeps. Well drinks and beer on tap run $3, which is about as good a deal as you'll get for getting sloshed. They have a well stocked bar with all the top shelf brands most would look for. And if they don't have it, something tells me you could probably ask them to get a bottle. Most of the crowd is made up of local regulars (including me) who are equally friendly.
