I can't even begin to say how amazing my experience was at Cook and Dagger! This was my second time visiting the restaurant and just like the first time my food, drinks, and service were out of this world!! The atmosphere of this place is relaxed and comfortable. You could absolutely take a date here or meet up with friends or family. From the cocktails to the beer sections, they are all on point (and on Wednesday's they do a wine tasting!!!) I personally love the grapefruit gatsby! As far as the food goes... You'll want to get it all!!! My first time there I sat in the bar area with some friends. I ordered the mussel appetizer and the fish tacos. Both were the best I've ever had! The broth in the mussels is to die for! And the fish tacos were delicious and a great size portion. The second time I sat a table in the dining area, we were greeted right away by our fabulous server Kristin. This time we ordered the charred octopus salad and again the mussels. For dinner, we had the ricotta gnocchi and the chicken and dumpling... Oh. My. Goodness. The gnocchi was out of this world! Definitely my new favorite dish. The chicken and dumplings were absolutely amazing as well. A great comfort food dish. My overall experience was a happy one. What a nice surprise this restaurant was. The food is all fresh and made in house. A true farm to table experience. The menu is small for that reason. But the flavor of the food is nothing but. There was no salt or pepper on the table because the food is seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Brussel Sprouts are amazing. Plus fresh made biscuits and cornbread with maple butter. It's disappointing to go out to eat with family and friends walk in to a restaurant, have a good time, go home and receive an unprofessional message from one of the OWNERS of the restaurant you were just at. We were courteous enough to ask if the establishment would still serve us food. A mistake was made by the server but we're the bad guys for not tipping to an expected standard. We spent close to a hundred dollars and were harassed for more. I really expected more from this establishment and I hope that this isn't how you treat all of your customers! read more

Only been here once, but it was a good experience. Atmosphere is a bit weird; not a warm, dimly lit place (which I like). A bit industrial for my tastes. The server was great; didn't pressure us. Wine list decent. We ordered poutine, something i had never tasted before. Our 1st visit was A Mazing. Took some chances on dishes we'd never heard of. They were outstanding. Crispy Fingerlings were soooo delicious. The food here is delicious. The only thing that is seriously lacking is any sort of decor or theme at all. I'm not usually too concerned about what a restaurant looks like as long as the food is good, but man, it's kind of depressing in there. With that being said... The food is delicious! Like most similar menus, the portions are small, but everything I've eaten there has been fresh, and I've had some really good combinations I have never had before. I'm nervous they won't last in their location, and like I said the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. But once you get a place in front of you, you will not be unhappy. Amazing!! My husband and I went Friday night for the first time. Fun, upbeat atmosphere! Great food and drinks! My husband had delicious fish tacos and I had the the tomato bisque and grilled cheese (YUM)! We also shared the grilled romaine caesar salad, also yum!! One of the owners, Kristen (also our bartender) made me the most delicious drink. It was called tequila mockingbird and had muddled jalapeños! Spicy, but not too spicy!! We ended up having dinner at the bar while chatting with Kristen, who made us feel at home. We will definitely be back! Lots of other things on the menu that I can't wait to try! :) read more

I haven't had a dish I haven't liked from here. The cocktails are so tasty too. They rotate their wings of the day- and they're ridiculously creative with the flavors. Even their garden salad has a flair to it- multicolored carrots, heirloom tomatoes, and mixed greens. Get some shrimp added to it- and they're nice wild jumbo shrimp; not the cheap farmed ones you'll find in a lot of restaurants. Delicious. read more

We finally got to try this place after a friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. Service was great, LOVED Jerry. He was knowledgeable and fun and very engaging. We had the croquets and the calamari which were amazing!! The calamari was unlike anything we'd had before with a pepperdew aioli and chorizo and red onions, crispy and not soggy at all. Amazing!! Drinks were good, I had a gin drink that I would totally get again. Hubby got the steak for his meal while I got the burger with all the toppings (Jerry's choice). We enjoyed our dinners as well however we both thought our sides were on the salty side. My fries were perfectly cooked just over salted in my opinion, still ate them though. Hubby felt his fingerling potatoes and Brussels were on the salty side as well. The dinners were still yummy I'd just ask for less salt next time. As far as people reporting on how busy it was or wasn't we went on a Monday night and it was not busy at all but we loved it! I do agree with others that he chairs are uncomfortable. I dont know if it's the shape or the metal they are made out of but they feel quite hard. Definitely would come back though! read more

This is an absolute hidden gem and my husband and I are kicking ourselves that we didn't try it sooner. As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted by friendly staff and a cool atmosphere with several different spaces. We sat at the bar and had an amazing dinner. Our fabulous bartender dished out tips and info on the menu and restaurant. Turns out they don't even own a freezer...everything is fresh and made from scratch (local if possible) by the chef. Everything...from the cornbread and biscuits with honey butter, which are incredible, that you are served when you sit down to the freshly squeezed juices in the mixed drinks to the entrees and hand-cut French fries and ketchup. The attention to detail and effort pays off. Everything was out-of-this-world delicious. The flavors melded perfectly to be interesting and complementary. The menu was just the right size and also featured specials based on what was in season. Desserts are made in house every evening/morning. We can't wait to go back! read more

I just realized I've never written a review for this place. We go here at least once a week, if not more. The food is to die for!!! Homemade corn bread and biscuits come out first with homemade sweet butter. I've eaten just about everything on the menu and one choice is better than the other, in any order! The fish tacos are huge, fresh and delicious. The hanger steak melts in your mouth. Pork belly quesadillas - OMG. I could say this for almost every thing he makes. Yummy goodness abounds! The owner/chef Chris puts a ton of thought and detail into the tastes of his food, his presentation, and takes critiques and suggestions seriously. He likes to hear what people think of his menu because It is all about the food for him and making sure his customers are happy eating what he presents. The food is a bit eclectic, but not so out there that someone can't find something on the menu while others try the more esoteric stuff. Even his hamburger and pulled pork sandwich are so full of flavor that they seem a lot more special than a burger or pulled pork sandwich. The waitresses are all incredible as well. Michelle remembers you, what you ate the last few times you were in, your kids, basically everything you tell her. She's has excellent taste in music for the place too. Kudos Michelle! My only concern is the location, not enough people realize the place is there, so (a) get there, and (b) share the love so that they stick around for years to come!!!! read more
