The food was very good our first time in. We live right around the corner and hadn't tried it until a couple of weeks ago. You get what you pay for here more or less, the prices are generally appropriate for what you are served, as far as quality as well as quantity. The fountain drinks seemed a little pricier but to be honest they tasted better than most fast food places, the balance was just right. The building was clean and neat and the service was friendly as well. It was rather noisy in there that it was hard to hear my husband across our two people table, but there was a bar in the back that we were sitting close to, so I understand that. My only real complaint is that the garlic butter noodles I ordered had far too much garlic in them. I couldn't even finish them and had scraped all the excess minced garlic into a garlic puddle. I did let the server know and she acknowledged she had told them that before and apologized. Overall a good atmosphere, good service, very good food, I really like this place and look forward to trying more dishes. Give it a whirl I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

Our first visit to Cook'd was soon after they opened. The food was good, but the service was not. We just figured they were working out those kinks. We went back last night with a group of 7. The restaurant was busy but not slammed. We were seated in the little private room at the entrance. We were all tired of waiting and about to leave when the first meal showed up 40 minutes after ordering. It was another 10 minutes before everyone had their food. The server was nice, and the food is good, but not good enough for that kind of wait. There are too many other places close by with equal quality and much better service. Place is great! Food is amazing and the atmosphere is new and casual. They just opened so give them some time to get things together. Ignore the reviews from people complaining about the service, they just opened up. The moment you walk in, you are greeted with smiles all around from hostess, servers and any employee who walks by at the time you are seated. The environment is clean and the restaurant is unique and offers an experience that is hard to find here in Nevada. There are always places to get great food and service but this restaurant for sure goes the extra mile when it comes to making any guest feel special when they come in. The owners are always there to lend a helping hand to their employees and will even pop in for a hello. My husband and I decided to give this place a try last night. I ordered a cocktail, salad, and ravioli. For dessert, we shared the chocolate lasagna. The cocktail came with a large, round ice ball in the center. It was excellent! The ravioli was hand made and delicious!! The salad was also perfect. Our dessert was superb. We have eaten here 2x, early September and Nov 21, 2020. Both times the staff has been first class about covid mandates etc. All diners are masked until seated and the tables are tastefully distanced. Speaking of seating, it's a nice modern feel in the different dining areas. All good so far right? Oh, and the staff is always super friendly, working hard doing a great job in the dining rooms. So, back in Sept my wife and I ordered Zuppa to start and then a big salad for dinner. She had a salmon filet added to her full House salad and I had the TriTip Salad. Everything was REALLY good. Totally worth every dollar. The soup, (Zuppa) was excellent, and when the salads came the salmon was a nice thick fillet and cooked perfectly. The tri tip looked like it had recently been sliced from the big chunk sitting in the kitchen. Nice tri tip marbled beef, and I could cut each slice into 2 or 3 bites. Like you would expect with slices from a tri tip. So last night we went back, it has gotten cold and we were really looking forward to the Zuppa. When we got there, the restaurant was half full, so got a table as soon as we walked in. Nobody was slammed, and we ordered same same, meaning we ordered bowls of Zuppa to start and the same salads for dinner. When the soup came it looked kinda the same, but it did not taste like it. It was a lot spicier, and not in a good way. For the record we regularly apply HOT sauce in mexican and asian restaurants, so we kinda know hot. And now, with a ton of kale thrown on top and not alot of anything else but some scrappy potato pieces. Not awesome cubes, just weird small bits. Nothing else in the broth was notable. Maybe it was the bottom of the barrel that started Friday or it was just slammed together an hour before we ordered, but it did not taste like it did previously and it was not a $9 bowl of soup. Arguably it had all the ingredients that the menu said it would, and that it did in Sept, but that's where the similarity ended between our first visit and Saturday night. Then came the salads. Same same remember? There was a notably smaller pile of lettuce on the moderate sized plates. And the meats were certainly sub standard. The salmon was a joke, it was half the thickness that my wife had enjoyed in Sept, and it was cooked like it was still 2x as thick. Previously the color was a deep salmon pink but this was a pale washed out shade of pink and very dry and a chore to eat. The tri tip sucked as well. Really, it was over marinated, undersize wrinkly little 'slices', and just a dry half of a handful.. and the quality had dropped to a notable amount of gristle. I am talking hearing it crunch crunch crunch as you chew gristle. Now I don't mind a cheap chunk of gristly steak, as a carnivore I can appreciate different cuts, but I don't want to pay fancy prices for it. Remember what I said about the staff all being super friendly and working hard? It's all true, they are all great people, but the full story is that our wait person did not return to the table after serving the salads and ask 'how are your meals?' Common mistake for sure, and in many eateries not even required, but this ain't the pizza place, there are plenty of those in town. Obviously we will never know what is happening.. a cook take over chef duties? Short sighted management coming down on food prices? I don't know. I hope they get it together, it was great the first time we ate there. read more

Came here for a Sunday lunch with family. We felt welcomed and at home within steps upon entry. The decor and ambiance are exactly what has been missing in the Carson valley area. Great staff, wonderful atmosphere and love the food and drinks available! It gets a little loud at times, but nothing out of the ordinary for a restaurant and bar. Best chicken Alfredo I have ever had!!! I've eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and this place has the best Alfredo sauce I have ever eaten and the pasta was great! However, food for thought, no pun intended... it would be nice to see the female servers/hostess' etc not wear spandex, yoga pants. This is a restaurant atmosphere, not the gym, this type of attire lacks class for even a casual restaurant! Please wear more appropriate clothing! I'm willing to try this place again once they iron out their issues. Having said that, we were disappointed with our first visit. We went there for my birthday and ordered a couple of cocktails, which were delicious. For dinner, I ordered the salmon with white wine and lemon juice and Cook'd rice. My wife ordered the Zughetti Oliva with olive oil, olives and feta cheese. When the salmon arrived, it was served over spaghetti and sun dried tomatoes instead of rice. My wife's dish arrived with meat sauce instead of olive oil and feta. After questioning the waiter, he told my wife, "Oh I'm sorry, I ordered the meat sauce for you". Then he told me, "The chef stopped serving rice with the salmon weeks ago". Why wouldn't he mention that when I ordered it or change the menu?!? I decided to keep my dish and send my wife's dish back. By the time her correct dish came out, I was nearly done with mine. The waiter took my wife's dish off the bill. First time visit....mixed reviews from different folks....decided to try it ourselves. Friendly staff! Server raved about their "Gravy" aka Marinara sauce and Italian dishes. Decided to try the Original Wedge Salad, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parmesan and Chocolate Lasagna. Salad was delicious. Shrimp Scampi wasn't what was expected. Sauce was closer to an Alfredo Sauce and not much flavor. Was expecting a lighter, clearer more garlicky flavor...pasta was al dente! The Chicken Parmesan was hard and over cooked as was the taste of the Marinara sauce. The server came to ask how everything was and I have NEVER, EVER returned food in my life and was honest about the chicken...expecting to just return it and be done.....but when she saw it she graciously returned it for a new dish of the same. The second one wasn't much better but I kept it and took it home. The Chocolate Lasagna was just OK! We felt it was EXTREMELY overpriced for the quality of food. I don't think Italian Cuisine is their Forte....but I've heard raved reviews about the pizza so if we return we will give it a try instead! read more
