This is my late night place to eat. You have until 4am or 5am at some locations. Although chick fila has the double lines down, Cookout has mastered this concept as well. The line moves fast even if wrapped around the building. Im not from Atlanta but i make sure i eat here at least 2x's per visit. I have to agree they have the best shakes. The combinations are endless. I like that its inexpensive food. Like you grabbed a bbq/cookout plate from a family members home. You get a lot of food with the create your own combo! I've been eating Cookout for 10+ years since college in NC and this one is definitely dangerously close to where I live. The line is always around the building, sometimes into the street. You have to get the TRAY to get the best value! And milk shake is a must! Cheeseburgers are good...and very greesy. My favorite item is actually the grilled chicken sandwich, cheddar style! I loved Cook out when they first started but now I WILL NEVER SUPPORT ANOTHER COOK OUT. Their food quality has went down, TERRIBLY. When you use to order food on the at the time was $5 menu now $5.99 and get your money worth. Now the large drinks are medium drinks, shakes only come in one size and they use to come in the larger size. Double fries are regular size fries from other places. Had to stop here since we had no idea where we were and if there would be any restaurants soon. This is a typical fast food joint. Order up front and have a seat until your number is called. Upon arriving we went to the bathroom and it was surprisingly clean so that was a good start. We went to the front area but didn't stand in line so we could figure out what we wanted. As we took our time, the order taker kept saying are we ready yet over and over again. Really dude? What do you think. Let's see... We are more than 10 feet away from the register, looking up at the menu with what should I choose faces, and completely off to the side... hmmm.... How annoying this guy was. Double stack burger, although smaller than anticipated, was tasty. Portion of chili was also very small. However, they are very cheap, so there's really nothing to complain about in here. ESTABLISHMENT: Place was clean. People in the front weren't too friendly when we came. But oh well - our food came fast enough. If you like to drink unsweet tea, they put it on a pitcher behind the two drink dispenser - prepare to reach in behind. The unsweet tea during our visit tasted old as well. Now, if you like sweet tea, holy diabeetus, this is your jam! I will continue to visit this establishment, and I recommend for you to give it a try. This was the cutest place and I was really impressed with the customer service and the set up. I wish they would come further up north to Baltimore. Awful service from the MANAGER - Michelle Love. I walked back to my table to drop my food off and went back up to the front to ask for my cookout sauce. I have never paid for a cookout sauce before in my life. I went up and before I even said anything, she said "28 cents." I was confused and asked her "why? I haven't gotten my cookout sauce yet" and she was just insistent on her assumption that I was going to give the sauce to my friends... she kept giving me an attitude and kept talking back to me. I simply wanted a singular cookout sauce for myself, but she kept saying "it'll be for your friend, 28 cents." It's here! It's here! It's finally here! One of the chains newest locations is located next door to the Krystal on Northside Drive by Georgia Tech's campus. The have two drive through lines and either 5 or 6 order stations. Their parking lot is large and flows counterclockwise. The interior is larger than the Moreland Ave location and is decorated with Georgia Tech paraphernalia as well as their traditional decor that gives it a log cabin feel. The food is what you would expect at another Cook-out. The burgers have that char-grilled taste, the onion rings are sweet, the milkshakes are thick and actually have bits of premium toppings in them, the chicken tenders are hot, and the wraps could be a little more tightly wrapped. Overall, another solid addition to the fast food market around Georgia Tech's campus. read more

I got the second (regular) size like before and it was big enough but overcooked a little more than last time (we all know FF burgers are not cooked to order so will be on the done side in general). I learned that the main difference btw sizes is the thickness of the patties not the size so decide accordingly. They do have lots of topping options and my friend enjoyed the bbq/sauteed onion. I am confused but curious about the $4.99 deal - your pick of two sides includes everything from fries (very good, btw and a large is a shareable way to control your indulgence) to a quesadilla - ?! That's just...odd. Go early if you want to dine in during "lunch time" - we went at 1115 and walked right up to the counter. Me and the nephew arrived on a Sunday afternoon to a full parking lot and two full drive through lanes. We decided to head inside to dine once we creeped on someone for their parking spot after a few minutes. A small place that is not really made for the long lines that it boasts, but the lines kept moving from the inside to the out. They were efficient, fast, friendly and organized to be sooooooo busy. We both ended up with the Cook-Out Tray and what a deal this thing is! $4.99 for a sandwich, two sides and a drink. Yeah, I am for real and no you didn't just step into 1955 where this price seems normal. Overall, we ended up with two of these meals and an amazing Peanut Butter Fudge shake and only spent $14.96. And to go along with the price, the food was good. I mean, it is still a fast food place, but the food was cooked to order, hot and expedited. You weren't waiting long once you ordered. This was my first time to a Cook Out restaurant restaurant. The people were very friendly in there. I told the guy at the counter it was my first time, and he told me to take my time and explained it all to me, as well as saying it was one of the best deals in Atlanta and it really was. I got a double cheese burger with fries and onion rings to try both, and substituted a chocolate malt for the drink for $1 more. With tax it was around $7 which was cheap for so much food. It arrived very quickly, and the chocolate malt was perfect. I'm very picky on them, and this didn't taste like it was full of chemicals like some places (Krystals...). The burger was not bad, when I asked for onions they put quite a bit on, as well as pickles and plenty of cajun powder on my burger which was really good. You get about 5 small onion rings and a decent serving of fries. Both were not really crispy, but were good especially after adding a little salt and pepper. I would definitely eat here again, for the price, the great milkshakes and the friendly staff. I also can't believe some of the things considered sides on this menu. It is always busy and the drive-thru is never without a car whenever I pass. Upon entering, we were jovially greeted by the front cashiers. With this being a new location, everything looks nice and pristine. We ordered the Cheddar Style burger, Onion Rings, Hushpuppies, Cheese and Chili Fries and milkshakes. They have a very cheap menu and now I understood the reason for so many college students being there. The food was nothing spectacular but it fulfilled its purpose. I prefer Dairy Queen Milkshakes. That means I'm willing to over look a lot but when the lady at the register (4:06 Jun 14th in case they need to see who worked the shift) told me to fuck off I was like fine. But my whole order was wrong I guess no ketchup means I want all the ketchup, one patty missing from my double, fries and onion rings instead of the sides I ordered. I get that it's cheap and you get what you pay for but this was seriously inexcusable. Hopefully management sees this and not only fires her but goes further to train the staff they have. I see why the Techies like this place. It's cheap but it's also not great quality. It's just like food you can cook yourself. The seasoning isn't great but edible. The quantity is right for the price. I have only tried their burgers and dogs. I'm curious to see what their BBQ tastes like. I don't think it'll win awards but will be edible. The interior is decently maintained. It's spacious enough for about 30ish people. The staff needs better managing though. It's not that they're rude.
