Me and my crew from Houston were filming in Atlanta and we happened upon this place looking for lunch. A friendly lady behind the counter helped us pick through the menu. We got the bacon cheeseburgers and they were amazing! Fresh off a charcoal grill. The homemade peach tea was so good I could've drank a gallon of it. Overall extremely impressed and I would highly recommend. Next time I'm in town I'll try their bbq to see how it compares with Texas. Arrived today Monday may 25th 2026 memorial day, around 12.19pm...ordered the shak sampler plate..which consisted of 1 rib portion,pulled pork sample portion..and 2 chicken tenders...my 2 sides were potato salad and coleslaw..1 piece of Texas toast...1 small sweetened ice tea...I also ordered a small peach cobler......1st the restaurant was practically empty on a holiday. ...2nd the restaurant was very clean, the restroom was also clean...3rd..the rib portion i received had no flavor..no seasoning..no dry rub..it was half cooked... no smoke flavor ...the pulled pork was bland with no flavor or seasoning..4th the 2 chicken tenders were hot,but flavorless. ..all meats tasted oven cooked.. 5th..the potato salad was ok...I did not like the coleslaw...6th..all of the 3 bbq sauces I sampled...the original....the sweet and honey..and the spicy were watery and flavorless....6th..the best item was the peach cobbler pie sample, it's was indeed very good. .7th the restaurant atmosphere was indeed peaceful , clean. and safe...8th...I had to move to at least 2 different tables because of a water leak from their roof..it was raining outside...9th...the staff was friendly..however overall the food was not good ...this restaurant is definitely not for me...their food tasted like hospital food. .my overall bill was $31.00 Definitely won't repeat read more

I was craving something yummy but quick, so I swung by Shane's Rib Shack while I was in the area. The staff was friendly and even a little comical. I ordered the Shack Sampler Plate ($18.99), which came with baby back ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, and even a few unexpected chicken tender pieces. The portion size was generous for the price, and I really enjoyed the sauce on the ribs. But overall, the meats were a bit too tough for my taste. First and last time eating here. We ordered 2 full racks of ribs with sides totaling $66. Our ribs were SUPER greasy and undercooked My household was sick most of the night because of this. I called the restaurant the next morning (just to politely give feedback) the manager basically tried to argue with me regarding what I received and stated "we dont even use grease so the ribs couldn't be that greasy". So this place is in the neighborhood not to far away from me. First time visiting this location on 8-29-2025. I previously ate at this restaurant at the airport location. I had the chicken tenders with the fries and I tried the peach cobbler. This time I got the half smoked plate with 2 sides I got the delicious potato salad and Mac and cheese is ok and Texas toast and I got a medium peach cobbler. I ordered wings with two sauces. However, they came with just one sauce. The baked wings were good, but served cold. I added beans, fried okra, and french fries and they were served cold as well. I am not a fan of cold food. The prices are higher than normal. I would try the smoked wings again. The ambiance is run-of-the-mill for this type of restaurant. The service was not very helpful. This review is in reflection on the food and food only. My meal was delivered to me, so no restaurant or service review here. Ok. First of all, the food is too pricey for what it is, which is not real bbq. The food does not appear to have been slow cooked, smoked, or even cooked on a grill or charcoal. The ribs I ordered were very clearly boiled, and trimmed to size prior to freezing and shipping, then heated up in some fashion (probably double broiled in a plastic bag) and then mopped with some mediocre sauce. The smoke flavor is also very clearly a flavoring agent and not from actual smoke. This place is called Shane's Rib Shack, but sell by far the worst ribs I've ever tried to eat. Chopped chicken wasn't much better with what appeared and tasted like a very similarly cooked chicken protein with similar phony barbecue treatment. Both were very watery and honestly just kinda looked like what I imagine bbq day in basic training would be like if there were such a thing. I honestly took a few bites, poked the food with my fork with a frown, then just tossed the whole thing in the trash after asking everyone I was with if they'd like to eat my food. Good food, good service. I ordered 2 kid's meals and the pulled pork sandwich. One kid's meal was a grilled cheese- great taste but the cheese wasn't melted. I also ordered a kid's ribs. The bones were not cut apart so I struggled to do so with plastic utensils. Great flavor but a tad bit small. Good portions of fries but side salad was about 8 total bites. Came here for a quick bite during my lunch time yesterday. Service was superb greeting me at the door upon entry and sending me off with well wishes at exit. This made me felt appreciated for my patronage of their business. I ordered the Big Dad pork sandwich with fries ( the special which was a great value at $5.99) , sweet tea and a peach cobbler. The pork was nicely done with a surprising smoky taste and the peach cobbler was fresh with possibly one of the best crust I have ever tasted. While I did have my meal to go, the restaurant itself was VERY clean and social distancing was more than suggested. 5 Stars and definitely suggested. We happened upon this delightful restaurant and are so glad we did! My husband DEVOURED his food - and that's half a chicken and a half rack of ribs PLUS beans and mac and cheese! Oh, then they gave him a free serving of peach cobbler! The customer service was top notch, the prices were fair, and the juiciness and tenderness of the meat is indescribable. The portions are huge and as out of towners (out of staters) we were welcomed, chatted up, and just welcomed. When we visit, this will be the exact location we go to again. 3.5 out of 5 stars My first time trying Shane's Rib Shack. The menu was easy to read and the atmosphere was similar to your regular fast food place. The staff was friendly and very personable. My mom and I decided the split the Shack Sampler. This comes with 2-3 chicken tenders, the infamous ribs, your choice or pulled pork or chicken, Texas toast and two sides ( your choice). The food was placed neatly in a to go container and I was pleased that it didn't leak in the bag. The sampler came with extra spicy bbq sauce and my choice of ranch. On to the taste of the food. The chicken tenders were a bit dry and the sauce definitely made a difference. I don't think I would have enjoyed them without the sauce. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful. It wasn't the best pulled pork I've had but it was good. The ribs were easy to pull off the bone and seasoned well. There were some tough spots but the sauce on the ribs made up for the dry parts. For sides we got sweet potato fries and onion rings. The onion rings were so good. They had that perfect crunchy texture and that sweet onion taste. The sweet potato fries were a bit soggy for me but they good. The price wasn't horrible for the quantity of food you get plus it being barbecue. For our sampler plus $2 dollars extra for the sides we paid $18 dollars. Would I go out my way to go back? Probably not but if I was in the area then yea. read more

What the fk happened to this place??? The shack samplers "chicken strips" now are literally the size of nuggets. They used to be decent size let alone the flavor is just NOT the same anymore. Early morning on an idle Saturday, a friend texted me an article called "Atlanta is Wing Town, and Lemon Pepper is King" (http://firstwefeast.com/eat/lemon-pepper-wings-atlanta) and from that moment on, I resolved to get some smokey lemon pepper wings somewhere in Atlanta. That somewhere ended up being Shane's Rib Shack, and a cruel exercise about the gap between what you want in life and what you get. To get right to it, the wings were trash. They looked like the grill marks were produced in the makeup department. They tasted like someone dripped liquid smoke onto globs of Play-Doh and melted I Can't Believe Its Not Butter! over them. They suffered from that horrible wing affliction where the flavor is only outside and when you bite into the meat, it's tasteless. Only the quality of the wings looked bogus, so the skin would slough off into the pool of not-butter, taking whatever "flavor" it has with it. These are not crispy, smokey flavorful wings. But slimy, soggy, artificially flavored with smoke-like substance wings that I couldn't even finish and had to follow up with something substantive, just so my stomach wouldn't implode, pulling my entire body in on itself. If you're caught in the final descent of starvation, only minutes away from the sweet embrace of eternal sleep and someone offers you a plate of Shane's Rib Shack smoked lemon pepper wings, it's better to die than to eat them. Yet another Raving Brands chain/concept getting closer and closer to East Atlanta Village. Sometimes it feels like there's a new one every week. Shane's Rib Shack is the conglomerate's first foray into barbecue and "Southern" atmosphere (so it has indoor barbecue shacks and old road sign decor). The barbecue wasn't bad, but it's a chain. No great barbecue came from a test kitchen recipe designed to taste exactly the same every time it's prepped and cooked on a line by thousands of different people. If you try and tell me that a chain can be great barbecue, we're going to rumble Ron Burgundy style. read more

Don't trust the owner/manager at the Edgewood location. She has a temper and a very poor attitude. I ordered one of the superbowl specials yesterday and went to pick it up today. After waiting 20 minutes for my order which was supposed to be ready at 2pm, I decided that I preferred to make some changes to my order once received. Several of the items in the special contain gluten which I am seriously intolerant to. She murmured and hawed about my wanting to make changes telling me she would have to charge me, assuming that would somehow deter me. Perhaps as a black woman she assumed I could not afford what I wanted. At any rate, I told her I was prepared pay for what I want and I told her I trusted her to make both the cash and food adjustments. I paid what she says was the difference then waited another few minutes for the food adjustments. The very nice young lady who works at the counter brought the food out, added it to my existing bags and I left. Now that I'm home, guess what? The owner/manager had sent out another order with toast (gluten) and sauce all over it. Luckily my mom can tolerate gluten so she will eat it, but what that attitudinal owner/manager needs to know is that I will NEVER grace her place again. Her behavior was vindictive and unnecessary as I fully cooperated with her extra price and told her I understood why making the change may have been inconvenient for her. She doesn't realize that in the few 3-4 months that I've patronized her shop, I've probably spent over $600 as I tend to order full racks. Shane's Rib Shack is chain restaurant in GA because remember first experience was in Rome, GA. Not sure if more outside the state of GA. I had found memories of the pulled pork sandwich so had too get it again. They just started new sandwich or without doubt the advertisement for it looked GOOD. So lI went for it! I was called the Shaniac. They should call it the motherload of puller pork sandwiches. It starts with burger, then topped with mound of pulled pork, topped with another mount of cole slaw, and somewhere still found way too add cheese. Literally so much stuff amazed I was even able too get it down. Every bite some goodness came out. I loved the harmony and overall balance of every ingredient. Sure each one could each by itself. Me always sign of kick ass sandwich. The sides had mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was nothing special besides the sandwich so big not even think about eating much anything else. I had some of there house sweet tea. I really enjoyed and with southern food really nothing better wash meal down other then sweet tea. They have assortment of condiments on the table. I added more hot sauce. If could would take bring bottle back with me. I also tried some of the spicy sauce. That had nice kick too it! Either one could have loaded my sandwich with more BBQ goodness. The service was great. I've been to this location probably a dozen times and have never had a bad experience. I usually get the big dad sandwich and you get a lot of pork for the price you pay. I also love their sweet tea. They also have a rewards program where you get a free meal after so many visits. They are also strong supporters of law enforcement which is a big plus for me. Best Shanes I've ever been to! We are welcomed in with open arms, which is hard to come by now a days, and the foods amazing! We came to this location for the first time this past Saturday. (Apparently, KIDS EAT FREE!) The person who helped us was so nice! He was tall, dark and handsome! He even gave our son a cookie when we were leaving. The place is super clean. Peach tea was on tap.
