    Chicken quesadilla
    Caroline W.

Ordered a jr tray and specifically asked for an only cheese quesadilla, opened it up to find chicken. Went back and explained I'm a vegetarian only cheese no chicken. Once again was handed a chicken quesadilla- I simply gave up and lost the money. Bathroom had one stall that was disgusting and the one other stall didn't even lock.

Cookout Burgers in Macon, GA. Food: Stopped bye Cookout and grabbed two double cheeseburgers with lettuce, pickles, cheese, grilled onions, mustard and ketchup. Service: Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance: A little dim regarding the lighting for a burger joint. A huge dining area, bench and table sitting.

The cheese curds with ranch bring me back, but the super thick delicious shakes make me pull into this cookout every time i am in Macon! So good! Drivethru or indoor your choice. Booth good!

I personally do not know what has happened to Cookout. I have been here 3 times in the last week for myself or someone else. The first time the inner lane was moving slowly. The second time the outer lane was super slow and my food was cold after the wait. Today both lanes super slow and after I pay and get my food I have to tell her I need my drink and cheesecake slice. She returns with the items. The cheesecake is in a bag with chili sauce all over it. The girl at the window with the red braids was super sweet but baby stop digging in your head and handling people's food. It is so unsanitary. I received no fork to eat with nor a straw. The sweet tea can go for unsweet. Please do better!!!

    Spicy chicken sandwich

My friend thought the chicken had a piece of tenden!! but she was wrong. If I could give this cookout zero stars, I would. My friend went through the drive-thru and ordered two spicy chicken trays. They informed her that one of the trays would take longer to cook, but she was fine with that. When she got home, her 2-year-old was eating one of the sandwiches. Concerned about the pink coloration on the chicken, my friend decided to check her toddler's sandwich. To her dismay, she discovered that the entire inner portion of the chicken was raw. It's unacceptable and disrespectful that they made her wait extra time for raw chicken. I recommend corporate re-trains their cooks.

We were on our way back from NC and decided to stop off in Macon for lunch. None of us had ever heard of much less visited a Cook Out so we figured we'd give it a try. The building itself was a pretty interesting style. The menu is a little confusing but seems to be a mixture of burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and barbecue. They also appear to be known for their 40 flavors of milkshakes. I chose a cup of chili and a Cajun chicken wrap. One thing I noticed is that this place is extremely inexpensive which is always a plus. My chicken wrap was $1.50! It was about the size of a snack wrap, but perfect for what I wanted. The Cajun sauce was pretty good. The chicken itself was just okay, nothing impressive. The cup of chili had a nice little kick to it and was decent. None of it was outstanding, but for a quick and cheap lunch it gets the job done. A few of us decided we had to try a milkshake since Cook Out seems to be known for them. I chose an Oreo milkshake. It's more the consistency of ice cream so grab a spoon. It was creamy and delicious ice cream so that's definitely something to try if you come across a Cook Out.

Food is what you expect for the cost at a fast food restaurant but the ordering process needs some organization and clarity.

I found myself in Macon and sought this place out (though it was not at this particular location) and the rest as they say, is history. I am also a huge fan of hot dogs and the bright red hot dogs at Nu-Way are always an amazing product. Their burgers are pretty impressive, too, and I usually get at least one of their burgers to go with the multiple hot dogs that I get and an order of french fries. There is absolutely nothing fancy about Nu-Way and there should be nothing fancy about this place. Hot dogs, burgers and fries are meant to be eaten casually, they should be a bit messy and there is a good chance that you will get something on your shirt. No big deal, the food is just marking its territory and labeling you as a devotee to their fantastic hot dogs, burgers and french froes. My recommendation is to grab a hot dog (or three) and a burger. Try both with the chili (you can thank me later). This humble chain centered around the Macon, Georgia area has been around about a hundred years and once you try it, you will understand why they have been in business about a hundred years. For a business to be hitting a century mark, they obviously are doing something right. Give them a shot, you will be a devotee, as well.

When I saw the announcement that they were trading in their classic cups for Kraft paper pouches that consumed less paper, I assumed that there would be a difference between a little, a regular, and a large, given the difference in price. I have previously ordered, when they still used cups, a little and a regular and saw the amount of fries. Two weekends ago, I ordered and was charged for a regular and received the amount of fries I have previously received with a little. I was shocked at first but then logged in online to see this was also the experience of others since the transition to the new container. This isn't such a big deal if these are moderately priced fries but this "regular" portion of fries is $7.59. That is similar to a basket of fries at a restaurant and I expect a similar portion, which is what the portion was under the cup system. Five Guys isn't cheap but it always felt like the quality of the food and the portion justified the price. That just isn't the case anymore. I used to go to Five Guys a couple of times a month and grab dinner for me and my friend but we haven't been back since, and likely won't.
