I was gifted money to subscribe to Cook unity to help make my life easier while I am recuperating from three surgeries. This is the first one I tried, with a plan of trying Factor next. I have been so happy with this company. It was delivered at the time It said it would be. The food is cooked and ready to be eaten. The chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes was a five, absolutely delicious. Barbecue chicken with mac & cheese, barbecue chicken salad. There's so many that we tried and we are so happy with them. UPDATE: They got back to me quickly (within an hour) and refunded me immediately so i'm updating my review to 3 stars. They also said they had double checked to insure my acct was canceled. ---- The food I ordered was good. What wasn't good was the way the company charged me for a delivery when i thought my acct was paused and never sent any heads up it was about to be unpaused, that the delivery cutoff date was approaching and the company had put 8 meals i can't even eat in my cart. Only when it was too late for me to do anything about it did i get an email saying "order received!" From whom? Cook Unity placed the order and cook unity charged the order and then just informed me it had received the order it placed on my behalf. I have new food sensitivities from a recent surgery and i wouldn't be able to eat 6/8 meals chosen for me. Not that it matters: I'm leaving town sunday so I will be able to use 0 of these and they may rot on my doorstep. I cancelled my account based on the above, THIS PART THEY FIXED: These sorts of tech platforms for services are either decent and attempting to deal fairly with customers or they are scammy websites that probably do half of this automatically and are programmed to automatically fill a cart and charge.better to get the customer's money now than wait for them to actually need the service (I'll note i was previously sent many heads ups before the cutoff for that week, but not the second time i paused for a few weeks). I have been a Cook Unity customer in the Phoenix, AZ area for the past couple months. I used to get Sun Fare meal delivery many years ago and loved it, but it was very expensive. Cook Unity is much more reasonable, especially if you only want to do 6 meals a week, which is the plan that I opted for. Cook Unity offers hundreds of choices of fresh cooked meals by a variety of chefs. They offer pescatarian, vegetarian, Mediterranean, and meals for meat- eaters. There's definitely something for everyone! You can even add on yummy treats such as cookies or yogurt parfaits. I like the fact that you can pause your meal delivery on those weeks where you might be traveling or eating out more than normal. You can also freeze meals if you don't eat them by the expiration date. Most of the meals I've gotten have been wonderful. I did have a couple hiccups, however, with a piece of plastic in one of my meals and a hair in another. It wasn't bad enough for me to stop ordering with Cook Unity, however. We have recently switched our meal delivery service to Cook Unity to get better service and better tasting meals at dinner. We only get 4 dinner meals for the week and the rest we cook for ourselves or go out to a restaurant. We try to stick to low carb or keto meals with our meal service to cut down on calories. So far, we love our Cook Unity meals because they are fresh, not processed or frozen. They are restaurant quality and are made by respected chefs around the country. You can really tell the difference! Cook Unity offers flexible plans, allowing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries you. They also offer vegan, keto and low carb meal. There is a variety of countries to chose from: Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, German, French, etc. They are priced a bit higher than other deliveries but they are worth it in taste, freshness, and creativity. I started with the 12 meal plan. My first order was $89.72. For the most part the dishes were good. I had a problem with delivery tracking. On the day my order was supposed to arrive I received an email with a link to track my delivery. I clicked on the link and it said there was one stop before me and my food would arrive by 1pm. Then the hour kept changing but it always said there was one more stop before me. It arrived at about 6pm. This is a problem because I go out and the delivery estimate is very unreliable! I felt as if I was taking a chance that my food would spoil by not waiting at home for the delivery. On my second order for 12 meals I was charged $166+! If I could pay what I paid the first time the service would be worth it for my budget. But at $12+ a meal plus a delivery fee, it's not. The price is prohibitive for me so I will have to cancel. Also, the pricing is not very clear. I keep getting offers for 50% off on my social media but I was not aware of what my cost actually was until I got charged. FOOD DELIVERED AT UNSAFE TEMPERATURES. Meals sometimes delivered a couple hours after the 7pm delivery window so the ice bags were melted and at room temperature. We checked the temperature of every delivery with a ThermoPen and a ThermoGun. We had 4 weeks of meals that were not at food safe temperatures so we finally CANCELLED our subscription. I would not accept the CookUnity credit and had to spend time to get a credit card credit. The meals were tasty but the delivery company was a fail. The insulated bag was thin and the amount of ice was insufficient to keep the food cool. The white ink on the freezer bag would transfer to my skin and cause my skin to blister. IF THEY HAD A LOCAL PICK UP OPTION, I would sign up again if they could keep the food temperature food safe. What about coordinating with 7-Eleven for pick up or sale? read more

The cook Unity hooked me to a trap and played me a scam tactics 4/20/2026 This is what happened, I ordered my food. I gave all my information such as credit card and so on. After a few minutes passed by, I checked my account info in their website I found out that my address in their record was wrong so, I immediately went to their edit section to correct it but unfortunately I failed. I contacted and chatted their computer generated receptionist. He recommended me to speak to one of their representatives. I spoke to shella via chat online on 4/19/2026 from around 9 to 10AM, according to her that there's nothing she could do for me because the food was already charged and processed and it will be delivered to the designated address pertaining to their record on file that was iDavenport, Iowa. But I just ordered it, not very long ago few minutes. I told her about it. And I also added that I live in Los Angeles California. I sent her my address and demanded her to send it there. The last thing I heard from her was - that she's going to see what she can do for me. And then, she instructed me to go to their edit section site to correct it after 12 PM that day. It shows that she didn't even care about me because there's plenty of time to correct the issue if she really wanted to help me, since the food delivery schedule was on Thursday 4/23/2026. It shows that they are not even care about people. A Customer like me where they will get their wages. After a long discussion, he finally admitted their mistake because the client has 48 hours to alter or change his or her order. I contacted and notified Shella about my problem the very same day I ordered the food. So, I requested to cancel my subscription and get a full refund but he said that he put it to a cook unity wallet. I can only retrieve or avail it on my next order. I went on a search through prepared meal services instead of meal kits because the state of my life meant that I had zero energy to cook meals anymore that would fit my dietary restrictions. In the interest of getting to control the amount of carbs or other nutritional aspects of the meal, I chose to try cook unity months ago and I'm a consistent customer now! Are all the meals winners? No. Sometimes something will sound good, you get it, and it's not great. But overall I'd say most of the dishes have been pretty good. Especially for someone who struggled to really bring a meal together in a way that made it tasty with sauces/ingredients/etc. The sizes are portion controlled and I get to pick a menu beforehand, which is helpful for me. Occasionally there will be problems, but if you are the person to freak out and scream and give one stars because of a mistake, I would recommend you don't do anything with a service. On one occasion the third party delivery partner sent my food so late that the food had become spoiled as Los Angeles summers are very hot. There were some times where the meals that were packed were lacking portions of the meal or were spoiled (like salad, dairy items, etc). On each occasion Customer Service was very quick and attentive and refunded the items for me. The app is difficult to use. We ordered 4 dinners for one week and then immediately cancelled the order because we were going to be out of town. This was done 1 day before the cutoff. I was warned that I was about to cancel an order; I proceeded to cancel the order. I got billed for the meals anyway, and asked that the meals be cancelled (5 days before delivery) I was told it was done too late and that there was no confirmation emailed to me that the cancelled the order. They advised me (although I suspect it was a bot) that I could freeze the delivered meals when they arrive - we tried freezing a previous meal we had gotten and it turned out disgusting - just mush (squash lasagna). I was also advised that I don't have to return the delivery bags because at our location they have no way to reuse them and they just through them away.
