This has been my work lunch spot for a while now. It's nothing fancy but it's in my opinion a little gem. It's a small deli which normally serves, breakfast, hot/salad buffets during lunch. But since the covid outbreak they haven't had the buffet open. But don't worry because they have a sandwich menu and in my opinion their specialty is their Korean food. This place is owned by a Korean family, which they sell teriyaki an bibimbap along with a few other Asian dishes. It's great Korean food that's affordable an consistent. Which is why I love coming back here. They also have fantastic roast beef sandwiches which I also order time to time. The atmosphere and staff are super friendly. Stopped by for lunch while in the area. Found the name interesting as cookies are just one of the many things they serve here. Seems to be a quick food option catering to the downtown businesses. You can fill various sized containers for their hot/cold buffet or order something on the menu. Cuisine varies from American, Mexican and various Asian fare. Knowing the salad bar was weight based, 7.95 a pound, I stuck to light items. Was able to compile a nice assortment for under 7 dollars! Food was good but nothing amazing. I also didn't try too many different items; salad w/fixings, yakisoba, and a deviled egg. Would come again and recommend to others when needing a fast bite. read more

This is a great spot for lunch if you work in the area. It's very quick, cheap and healthy! The service is excellent and the buffet is kept very clean. Mostly it's a salad bar, but there are options for Asian food and Mexican food. If you don't want to pay by the pound at the buffet, there are meals to choose off the menu, however I have only eaten at the buffet. Each day of the week they cycle through a specialy dish, i.e on Mondays stirfry, Tuesdays Meatloaf. Overall I would certainly reccomend this place for a nice, healthy and decently priced meal. I used to work across the street from Cookie Cabana (I know the name has changed but I can't remember what it changed to) and this was absolutely my favorite breakfast/lunch spot. Their salad bar is clean, fresh, and has everything you could want to build your own perfect salad or plate. The service is also excellent. I also loved their bibimbap; absolutely delicious. I no longer work in that part of town but I still crave their food even years later and sometimes make special trip over there. read more

Cookie Cabana, oddly named for the focus is not upon cookies or cabanas as far as I can tell, is a salad bar lunch spot with miscellaneous hot food (like mexican, teriyaki chicken, and even polska kielbasa sausages) thrown in for a little variety. Highly popular for us captive office types who need a quick convenient lunch spot downtown and don't want to hoof it up the street to Tom's Bento. Generally a nice salad bar (for the area), and SUPER nice people. I would give 3 stars except for the buggy crackers incident (those aren't wheat crackers..). I can't bring myself to share the details of that particular story, since I like the people who work there too much. read more

Note to self: "Hey moron girl! Don't go to a salad bar/Chinese food restaurant and expect a tasty falafel." How did I end up with a falafel at a Chinese Restaurant you ask? I ended up here due to a short ass lunch break and co-worker recommendations. There was a lack of viable vegetarian options on the menu, despite having a huge salad bar. The salad bar had many options, but it looked questionable (wilty) and expensive.I have it on good authority that a few of the ladies I work with have dropped up to $13 on the pay by the pound salad bar. There was a pay per pound taco bar that was equally questionable (crusty) looking, and paying by the pound for re-fried beans? Hells to the no. I felt bad, and didn't want to to walk out as I was being served to by a very enthusiastic lady, who was also very sweet. I ordered a pity falafel, and made tracks. The falafel was dry and flavored with gluey sadness. Now, I cannot speak for the meaty entrees, and the place was very clean and the server was very very nice. I'm not sure that those elements alone would lure me back in. read more

My coworker introduced me to this spot and it's so perfect for lunch. Hole in the wall delight where you can choose anything you want from the salad and sushi bar for a flat price. The cost is great, and it's never too busy when we've went. Great spot for lunch. read more

Cookie Cabana's salad bar helps me out when I am having a need for a Big Salad. They have a really good selection of veggies to load up on, pasta salads and fruit. My only complaint about the salad bar is it is a little more expensive than I anticipated. They charge by the weight so watch out when you load up! They also have bentos, soups and sandwiches to choose from if salad is not your jam. The breakfast looks good too and they open at 6am for the early risers. It is definitely a place I am going to have to come back to. read more

The pathetic array of choices for lunch for me makes me want to cry everyday. If I'm in the mood for hitting the salad bar - this is my joint. They have a great selection of fresh veggies to choose from. Their hot buffet choices are ok (not much for veggies) and their soups are decent -- change daily. Haven't tried the sandwiches ... but probably don't have a good veggie one. Hmmm ... something to investigate. Not really sure why they're called "Cookie Cabana" ... no correlation that I can see. While there aren't very many cookies here - this is probably the only salad bar that I will ever want to eat at. Good selection of hot and cold foods - as well as always-fresh-looking lettuce. Pay by the pound, so don't be fooled by the large to-go boxes - you can fit a lot inside. They also have sandwiches and soup. The downside - not a lot of vegetarian friendly choices besides salad and there are no signs notifying you of the ingredients of a menu choice. read more

Bridge City Cafe was closed for Columbus Day, and I was in the mood for a cookie. I gave Cookie Cabana a try. I purchased two cookies -- a glazed sugar cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. Pay by weight could make some big eaters go broke at this place. I spent $10 on a salad, and I'm not a heavy eater, but you do have to eat a bit of salad to fill up. They do have a few more options than other places, and decent breakfasts. When I worked across the street, sometimes I'd get one enchilada and it's cheaper, because it's more filling. It's totally not about cookies though. but this salad bar totally reminds me of the ones in New York. with the eccentrically huge selection, hot and cold cases, throw some sushi on there, some pepperoni, taco filling, what have you. First time here and I really appreciate the fact they are open as early as 6:00am and have breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, croissants, quesadillas AND English muffins for a very reasonable price! The name is a misnomer (maybe 3 types of cookies, I didn't look), but oh man, the salad bar. So many options, and very fresh and tasty. I tried the marinated mushrooms, sauteed green beans and asparagus, (and so much more) and everything was really great! I even loved the blue cheese dressing - and I am fairly picky about my blue cheez. There are also hot bars that I didn't try, so no review of that. Just the sweet, sweet salad bar. The place is nothing to look at, but super clean and the salad bar is very navigable (even for those of us with less than long arms). Oh, and it was cheap too. :) I will be back! The food is okay but dodging Regence employees before overpaying for a bunch of noodles is a major reason to miss this lunch time spot.

I love this place! They have a great salad bar and no matter what time I've made it in, it never looks terribly picked over with things missing. They do have cookies but they're kept in the back. You tell the lady ringing you up what kind of cookie you want and she'll bring you one from the back. Their chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal chocolate chip are great! They're also the size of your face so you feel that you got your money worth! I usually go on Wednesdays because I also LOVE their Loaded Baked Potato soup. Amazing! I've never tried their hot food but the bento is great and they put it all together for you. It's a great place and the lady that runs it is so sweet. Try it! read more
