I have had a fantastic experience with Cook's. They repaired body damage on my vehicle when it was hit, and repaired the car after a thief broke into the vehicle. As another reviewer stated - these folks are honest, prompt, and fair, and they do great work. Perhaps the best part about Cook's is their incredible customer service. When Sandy (the receptionist) called my insurance agent and found out that I didn't have rental coverage and needed a ride home, the mother of one of the service technicians gave me a ride! One of the technicians also assisted me with choosing a new anti-theft device for my car, and offered to help walk me through what I would have to do to install the device myself. Even though this is a body shop in a big city, I really felt at home working with the staff at Cooks. I will use this body shop any time my car needs to be repaired, and I will recommend it highly to all of my friends. read more

trust me, do not go here. we took our first car here, great service, thought it all went well. couple months later, the door they replaced -- foggy window. of course before we realized the poor install job on wife's car - my car was in an accident so I took it in. thought it all went well -- then some electrical problems one week later. instead of fixing it, they told me to have the dealer deal with it. of course, then no one wanted to take care of it and we're screwed. basically, to sum it up - great people at the shop but don't be fooled - they just don't do good work. trust me, look for another shop. read more

Horrible experience...Don't let these guys with the nice mannerism at the beginning fool you. Is a good thing I was smart enough to not let them over charge me by telling you the job is going take 3 hrs longer then they thought, and this is them with out even a look at my car, as a body shop, one would think they know about a simple tail light more then you, when I tell them how it can be done, and watch them remove a part that took no more then 10 mins to remove it, their comment was "I'm only by what the computer show and trying to protect their staff" somehow they don't even seem to feel bad about it. As I'm trying to over look this as I pick up my car. Again, they try to surprise me with additional $ BS time they claim didn't see it coming. By the way, this was one exterior part that just needed to be "bolt on" from outside. Yes, I'm sure it was extremely hard to give a right quote. To top it all off the parts was not even put on right. If you own a nice car, please be prepare that they will jack the price up just when you pick up the car. I felt very ripped off after leaving there. Update: make matter worst, today 12/22/14 I have pay another shop to reinstall what they done, as the part starts to come off. read more

Cooks is awesome!!! Seattle Mini referred me to another auto body shop on Lake City to fix some minor scratches on my hood, and they estimated the damage to be $1700!!! I was blown away by the price so I decided to get a second opinion. I went to Cook's, and they are going to help me cover the scratches for next to nothing. This is a review for the service I received, but to be clear I didn't have any servicing done. I was shopping around to fix a small accident I had on my car. I told Jean I was hoping to keep the price low and didn't need a perfect job, as I thought the damage wasn't worth fixing but I had personal reasons to get it repaired ASAP. He gave me several options and advice, on how I could possibly repair it on my own, where was most convenient to find things I needed, or bring in my own parts to cut down costs. He was very knowledgable and genuinely trying to help. He also quoted one of the lowest costs had I gone through with getting it fixed there (600-800 vs 1300 at other places)., and worked with a strong sense of urgency that made me feel like my time was more valuable than anything he was doing, instead of an attempt to get rid of me. I felt bad that he rushed, but I felt valued as a customer. He was a big help, because had I not gone to him first, who knows who could've duped me. I'd recommend him to anyone, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. read more

I had a bumper car accident to my 12 year old Acura - split the front bumper into and other damage. Took it to Jeff Cook and they had it back together with reconditioned bumper and new headlight in 3 days looking fabulous and also washed inside and outside - fabulous service! This is the third time I've used Cooks Auto Rebuild. Unfortunately that means I've had three car accidents, but they have done a great job each time. This last accident was a real doozy- quite a lot of damage on the front driver's side of my Jetta. The initial estimate was 3500. (which insurance covered, thanks State Farm!) but as they got further into the car, they realized the damage was more extensive. I got phone calls to update me on the status of my car as it was discovered. Though it did take a long time (nearly 4 weeks) I know that Cooks is thorough and detailed to get my car back into like-new status. They even picked me up at my house and brought me back to the shop when my car was finished. Great customer service, good job on my car! Thanks Cooks! read more

I took my car to Cook's when I got T-boned; I was in somewhat of a hurry to get it fixed and they were able to get me in and set up with a rental very quickly. They were also very friendly in person and on the phone. However, the rest of the repair process reallllly slowed down from there. What they originally had estimated to take about 5 business days turned into three weeks. The slowdown was in the delivery of parts to the shop (not Cook's fault); however, they never called me to inform me of the delays. I called after a week to check on its progress (since I had heard nothing) and was told it would be another few business days... after that, I called again, and was told the delays would continue, and that "they'd call me when it was finished" (which I took as their way of saying, stop bugging us!) I found it frustrating and unprofessional that I had to take the initiative to be updated on my car's progress, rather than them being forthcoming with that information. Again, I can't blame them for the parts taking longer to deliver, but I would expect them to take responsibility for keeping the customer informed. Finally, I was not totally pleased with the quality of work performed on my car. The passenger side door was replaced, and I have since noticed that the window occasionally needs to be rolled up a half inch (without me having lowered it at all). Also, there was plastic sheeting/wrap left on part of the door (the type that would cover the part as it was being shipped) which I removed myself after getting the car back from Cook's. Not that it was a big hassle to me, but just a sloppy detail. Again, I do want to compliment their demeanor when interacting with customers in person; however, I was disappointed with their communication at all other times. read more

Can't say enough good about this place. Have used them twice this year (hoping that my need for body work is now over for this year!!!) and they have been so great. I've had my car repaired at Cook's Autobody twice and the first time I was very pleased with their work. The second time, however, I was flabbergasted by the work done. I'm not sure if they have new Tech's there now or maybe they are trying to save money but my car was in no way repaired correctly. After several visits back and many, many conversations I ended up taking the car back to my insurance and let them argue with Cook's. After insurance got re-involved they seemed to change their tune and I hoped for the best but as you can guess it was not to be. I believe the difference between a good mechanic and a bad mechanic is honesty and in that respect Cook's is not a good shop. Beware when taking your car to this shop, make sure your insurance inspects it BEFORE you pick it back up from them and definitely don't expect an expert paint job. read more

This review has been a long time coming. First, I would like to share that I have taken three cars into Cook's over my lifetime. That is not to say that I am a bad driver, it is to say that they have been in business for almost 70 years. My last experience was with my Audi Convertible, my pristine, super fun car that was (almost) totaled by another car hitting the passenger side of my car, yes it was my fault. The impact was quite substantial. At first my insurance carrier stated that it would be a total loss which left me heartbroken. After reconsideration, we all trusted that Cook's could make my car new again. There were a few hiccups with Jeff trying to have to locate hard-to-find partsetc, and they did have my car for longer than what was anticipated, however, this was no fault of their own, it was my insurance carrier which is going to remain nameless... When I picked up my car, Jeff stood by their guarantee that if there was anything that should not be happy with, to please let him know. There were a couple of minor details that I wanted to have readdressed and they were taken care of pronto. I love that Cook's is a family business, I love that I see the same people every time I walk in. They took good care of me, and I recommend them. God willing, I hope I don't have to go back anytime soon! read more
