Rheem covered the tank under warranty, but MillTown charged $5,800 for the replacement which was essentially a retrofit with minimal changes. After reviewing the work, it was clear the job should have been closer to $3,000 based on industry standards and actual scope. Unfortunately, the workmanship was disappointing. The system was left in a condition that doesn't reflect professional standards -- including a drain valve positioned against another pipe, making it impossible to drain the system properly. I provided photos and a detailed email to Milltown expressing these concerns. Their response was that there "wasn't much to do," and they offered only a $500 credit toward a future service. Given the excessive pricing and the quality of work, a credit for a future service wasn't a reasonable solution, and I declined it. Another concern: their website offers no way to contact the owner or any managers directly. For a company that presents itself as family‑run, that lack of transparency says a lot. Overall, the experience was frustrating from the high cost to the poor workmanship to the dismissive response. Based on this, I cannot recommend MillTown for plumbing or HVAC services.

The lead tech tried to sell us a maintenance plan to get any kind of reasonable discount. Overall, I found their prices way to high. No thanks!! Milltown...people still work for a living. The very next day the second heating system I had in an addition failed. I was distraught!! Net Zero gave me a great quote..several thousands less than other HVAC. What they did not tell me that they were only electric heating contractors. So after paying $12,000.00 for installation I now pay an electric bill of $1000.00 a month in the winter. They walked by a brand new gas system in my home..disengaged a second gas heating 50 feet away and installed a unit that is costing me a thousand dollars a month. Not one of the employees ...installers. or project estimators...addressed what a poor and unkind decision this was. Now I have to redo my heating system...sell my house...unable to retire . Would they do the same to their mothers..grandmothers? This is a sad and sorry company. Yes I know I'm a stupid elderly woman with no recourse from people like this. I just hope this warns others to avoid this snake company.

The motor replacement had been done on their recommendation, as my 14-year-old heat pump was beginning to get loud. I was told that after the repairs I could then get many more years of service out of the heat pump, and paid $1840 for the work. They sent out a service technician to check why it wasn't heating. He determined the freon had leaked out and I'd have to schedule any additional repairs with the office. He also said that he would never have repaired a 14-year-old heat pump and would just have recommended replacing it. There was an $220 service charge for his work. When I called the office they said it could take an additional $1000 to track down the source of the leak, (I had never had a leak previous to their work on the heat pump) and provide new freon. I asked to speak to the manager to see if there was a better solution than paying another $1000, when I had already paid them over $2000 for a repair I had gotten very little value for. The manager called when I was out, but said he would call again in the next two days. I called back at his number and got an answering service where I left a message. I never received another call back from him. Apparently RH Young's customer service ends when the customer's check clears. I went ahead and installed a new heat pump, but not through RH Young.

Context ******** Paul had helped fix our furnace in the past, this year, it was cold and I gave them a call. Call went to voicemail, tldr, a lady called back and was just rude, saying Paul couldn't understand what I was talking about in my voicenote. This is when I should have realized it was going to be a disaster, she asked for my information and said they couldn't find my account. Cut to the point, she tried booking an appointment but didn't have any immediate available times, and said they charge $159 just to diagnose and book the appointment, I tried being reasonable/negotiable and said the price was a little too steep for me (esp seeing how they didn't have any available times immediately and that I had to wait for 2 days). The minute I said "steep", the lady got mad and hung up the call, here's the kicker - she accidentally didn't drop the call fully and I overheard her saying I'm so annoying and complaining about steep fees and I should go somewhere else, and the most shocking part was when she said "they" are now becoming the minority (talking to someone in the background). Wow just wow. I'll let you make out your interpretation of that. I'm trying to make light of the situation - While she basked in her rudeness, I kept the line open and got to hear some terrible humming to Michael Jackson - The way you make me feel. Ultimately, I never expected that statement from you guys. I can confirm you've lost my business, thanks for not having availability because if I knew that's the kind of people you are, I wouldn't want you in my house anyway. Great job!!

They sold their business and I am in the unfortunate position of finding a new plumber, so I called Foster Plumbing and Heating Inc. If you want to be scammed, call Eric Foster Plumbing and Heating. When I called them to make an appointment for routine maintenance of my year-and-a-half old AC, I was quoted a price of $225. Nothing was said about this being an hourly charge or about other charges. I have been having furnace and AC maintenance done for about 60 years and the charge for this work has been a flat fee. The work generally takes an hour or less. The only additional charge I have ever had o pay has been $10 for a filter if I did not supply my own. When I got a bill for $432, I was sure it was an error, so I called them to request a corrected bill. It was then that I was told that the $225 was an hourly fee. Since the technicians had not been at my home for more than an hour, the charge was still more than I had been quoted. I was then told that they had been working at my home for an hour and 15 minutes, so I was charged for an extra 15 minutes. However, Foster has a strange kind of math as they charged for a half hour for those 15 minutes. That would be $112.50 for that "extra" 15 minutes. Add to that the $94.50 which I was told covered the cost of the liquid used to clean the coils. Pretty expensive liquid, something I have never been charged for in the past!! I was also not told that there would be an additional charge when I made the appointment. I supplied my own filter. As an added "bonus", when I turned my shower on the next morning I was bombarded with ice cold water. Fortunately, I determined that the water heater temperature had been turned off by the technician and carelessly not turned back on. If it had been necessary to call Foster to solve this problem, I would have been billed another $225 or more. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and I live alone. It is necessary for me to be able to hire reliable and honest workmen. Foster Plumbing and Heating certainly will not go on my list of honest and reliable workmen.
