Caveat emptor. They are an approved vendor of "free" nest thermostats. They came in with a "list of inspect". Intentionally or not, they unwired and crossed the wires of our compressor while "inspecting", fried the unit. Voila and now we have a $5,000 nest thermostat. Hmm. I called Cool Air Pros for the LA AC optimization program. Scheduled about 10 days later. The crew of 3 men showed up at the designated time. They tested the vents for temp and went up to the unit and explained they would wash the condensers. They said my 16 yo unit needed no repairs or freon. I asked them for a quote for a new unit. A couple of weeks later someone calls to follow up to make sure I got what i needed. They did not change my filter. So they scheduled to have someone come out to bring me one. They handed to me at the door. When I tried to put it in, it was the wrong size. I called Cool air pros to bring me the right size. They said I told them the wrong size. Well, your pros should have placed the filter themselves. They also didnt ask about my nest system. It has some malfunctions and switches to heating from cooling on its own. They just said I had a Nest so I didnt need another one. They still have not come back with the right filter size nor have they sent me an estimate for a new unit. I question their judgment about my system and actually want to file a complaint with LADWP. Please avoid this company . read more

We got countless bids to replace our broken rooftop package unit, but Julio and the team at Cool Air Pros gave us a great quote and excellent service. We did hit a bit of a snag getting the unit we had initially wanted (thanks to COVID supply chain issues and a mixup at their supplier), but they were able to find a suitable replacement so that we could get back up and running. The installation went great, and even though the unit is up on the roof and out of sight, they did a really beautiful and professional job setting it up. This is an unsolicited post for Cool Air Pros. I just had them out to troubleshoot my Hvac system as it wouldn't start. Theree was no heat, only cold air blowing. It was also leaking water onto the ceiling. The unit is suspended in the attic. Julio was the tech who responded, and he zeroed in on the problem. He got our system up and running in a mode that will keep us warm until necessary parts come in. There is much more I can say, but I will update this post after the job is completed. However, from everything I've experienced so far, I would say that this company sets the bar for customer service and responsiveness and is thorough in explaining what was done and what the next steps are. This is honestly one of the most difficult reviews I have ever had to leave because all the people I dealt with at Cool Air Pros were so nice. I scheduled an appointment with Cool Air Pros to do the LADWP optimization inspection and maintenance, but I told them I also wanted a quote to replace a very old unit. Julio came out and did a great job with that and then inspected everything he had to write the estimate I wanted. I was really impressed with how he didn't just take a bunch of measurements and then throw together a number. He explained everything to me and showed me how things were calculated, and I felt comfortable I was in the right hands. That's where everything good ends. Julio was to provide the estimates and says I should get them in two to three days. Nothing ever arrived. I call a week later to check and am told that the estimates were sent to the wrong email address (thanks for sharing my address with some complete stranger). I finally get the estimates and there are three options, none of which are the system I asked for so I figure this may just be a case of the customer is always right vs the experts know better. I reply by email with the system I was interested in and ask for that estimate. I'm told to call the office. I call the office and speak with Britney. She tells me the revised estimate will get to me in about an hour. Nothing. The next day Britney leaves a voicemail apologizing for the delay but assures me that the estimates department has the request and will get me something today and she will follow up. Nothing. Britney does email me to apologize again and let me know she is still on it. Finally get the estimate and it is really strange compared to the other estimates I for systems I didn't want. So I call to ask about it. Someone answers and says he's only been there two weeks and can't answer any questions but Julio will call within 90 minutes to explain. Nothing. But Britney did send a nice email asking me if I wanted to schedule the work. Schedule a date to install what? One of systems I didn't want or the system I asked about but couldn't get an estimate that made sense? Like I said, Julio seemed very knowledgeable and I was impressed with his explanation and he was super polite. Britney was fantastic and followed up like she said she would and was also extremely nice. Even the guy that had only been there two weeks seemed like he was trying to be helpful and was very polite. That said, if you're having this much trouble getting a simple estimate into the hands of a potential customer, what can I expect if I sign a contract with you? I'll give them this much ... they don't smoothly get you to commit and give them the money then mess you around. They mess you around right up front before you're out your money. I was so hopeful. Wished it had worked out. Update: Was contacted again to schedule installation but they had not ordered equipment or pulled permits or anything else and now are trying to raise the price $2,000! read more

This company was referred to me to do my AC repairs. I was sent an estimate to replace my system and was ready to proceed. They then while on the phone said that they mis-estimated and wanted double what was on the estimate that specifically says it was accurate and included installation. The manager, Luis DeLuna, in particular was unhelpful and unwilling to honor the word of their company and their technician who sent the quote. I am horribly disappointed and would not recommend this company to anyone who wants trustworthy quotes that they can believe in. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Erik and SAM came out today under the LADWP A/C Optimization program. They checked everything out and installed a Nest thermostat ( which is paid for by LADWP ) The guys were great! Very polite, explained everything and did a wonderful job. Another thing I liked is that they didn't recommend a new a/c five minutes in like most do. They also gave me the real status of my a/c which differed drastically with the last guy. The last guy told me it was going to fail any day! They call it a free tune up program, but they will find a way to charge you for non-sense. They had previously installed a nest thermostat for me, but the next time around when they came out for a tune up (2 hours late), they said the common wire is not hooked up. They charged me 50 bucks to strip a wire and install it "properly" the way they should have the first time around. Their excuse was that it's tough to find good help... How is that my problem!? This is the type of thing that makes you wonder if you can trust their work... read more

I called them and explained my particular issues and they said they'd call back with confirmation that they could handle it - first sign was that they didn't call back , I had to . He said no problem doing my service and we scheduled it . They have a nice looking email confirmation that goes out and tells me what I need to do to get ready for the appt. well , surprise no one shows up ( I planned my day around this appt) and when I called to inquire what time they will be here , he told me no one was assigned my job! Huh? You sent me confirmation and your co. Is so flakey you never assigned a person TO A JOB YOU HAVE ON YOUR SCHEDULE? He should have immediately said, I'll make it right and find someone to come out now while you've been waiting! I'm editing my review because: 1. The owner immediately left a message apologizing and saying he's making sure this type of thing doesn't happen again . He didn't try to make excuses so there's that. He said he still couldn't come out for another week and I wouldn't use them again but it sounds like he does care. 2. Wow!! I can't say enough great things about this company. I found them on the list of approved contractors for the LADWP AC tune-up program. Typically these programs are hit or miss depending on the contractor you end up with. I did some research on the contractors on the approved list, and Cool Air Pros was by far the highest rated one, so I decided to give them a try. I sent them a text and asked them to call me back to book an appointment. Enrique called me almost instantly and he was so friendly, professional and helpful. He explained the whole program to me and quickly booked an appointment for me for the following weekend (only a few days away!). This morning they sent a technician named Erik and he was fabulous. He changed all my air filters and then installed the nest thermostat. He asked me whether I wanted him to help me with connecting the nest to my iphone as well. I felt bad asking him to do that so I said he doesn't have to stay for that if he has other appointments. But he insisted on staying and helping me complete the phone set up (which I was really happy about because it ended up being a little tricky). These guys are super good. 11 months ago they installed 2 Nest Thermostats for me under an LA DWP program. This past weekend I couldn't shut one of my compressors. I called Cool Air Pros on Monday and they came out on Tuesday morning and spent 3 hours troubleshooting the problem and determined that they needed to send a senior technician, Julio. Julio solved the problem, a short in a wire and came up with a no additional cost to me solution. Total cost was $169.00. Very reasonable. He was right on time (actually a little bit early), Very friendly and knowledgeable and extremely polite. The best thing about him was that he was honest. This company is terrific. First I'll say that I contacted several companies when my AC started leaking during a recent heat up here. Of those that I contacted some just refused to take the job because they were too busy, others were a month out. Enrique reached out to me immediately after I sent a request. He had Sam out the next business day. Sam examined the system and found that the refrigerate was low. He explained the cost and performed the work. Everything was going great. A month of no problems, and sadly the leak returned. I left a message with the company and Enrique returned my call immediately and had Sam return the next day (Saturday!) to check things out.
