I had the same experience Joe D. expressed in his review dated 2/24/2025. I had a routing service call on 3/10/2025 and was also told the heat exchanger on my heating unit was cracked. The unit was red tagged and shut down. I was quoted $3,600-$4,400 to repair the heat exchanger or they could send someone out to give an estimate on a new unit. I called for a second opinion. This HVAC company found no damage to the heat exchanger and advised my system was operating in good condition. Beware of upselling from this company. I will be giving my future business to the honest company that gave me the second opinion. read more

If you deal with this company, you better hide your wallet. All they try to do is sell you a replacement unit or a high cost repair. During a routine annual service call, I was told the heat exchanger on my heater was cracked. The heater was "RED TAGGED" and shut down. The office folks told me that since the heater was 20 years old, it would be best to install a new system rather than make a repair. Also, a heater exchanger may not be available to fit the current unit. When a tech arrived at the house, he went into the internet and immediately found a heater exchanger to fit my system at the low cost of $3,500.00. I had a second Heat and Air company confirm the damage to the heat exchanger. They found none. It only cost me $150.00 for the second opinion and the truth. read more

And what my relationship with Cool Air Solutions has shown me is that I made the right choice almost six years ago when I chose them. The company, and particularly Jay Pierce, were outstanding throughout the entire process. Since I was so happy with how things went, I continued to keep Cool Air Solutions as my maintenance provider for my Lennox system. Recently, there was a hiccup when it came to the maintenance. The company and I disagreed on how much a particular service should cost and, as I am wont to do in these circumstances, I dug in. What I wanted was for the company to be fair about the situation and, to its credit, it was, and then some. Selina, the Operations Manager, did a wonderful job showing me just what kind of company Cool Air Solutions is, which is one you should contact for work on your HVAC. She was kind, honest, and fair, just what you want in a person who represents your business. In hindsight, I am happy that I am writing this review now and that I didn't write one in 2017. On July 9, 2025, Daniel Field, our service technician, arrived on schedule and conducted an extremely thorough semi-annual service of our air conditioning system. I would like to compliment him for his exceptional courtesy and attention to detail. He answered any question that I had regarding the efficiency of our cooling system, use of the thermostat in zoned areas, effectiveness of our 2 attached air purification systems, and how well our Merv HVAC air filter was working. He also discussed with me implications of dust in the attic and on the duct work. The filter was changed out to ensure effective processing of air flow and cleanliness. Daniel inspected the AC compressor, cleaned out any leaves, and ensured it was operating efficiently. He took time to go over all his inspections which was ensuring that the process was thorough and everything was addressed, and any potential issues corrected if any had been found, which were none. They charged me $2500 to fix a part on a unit they installed 3 years ago that has a 10-year warranty! They blamed it on the manufacturer, but I'm not the one who chose that manufacturer, they did! The technician they sent to do this was surly and told me the warranty only paid if it was a part that needed to be replaced, but not for the labor and when I asked him why the labor cost so much, he said because of the expensive parts equipment he brought that us necessary to do the job and his expertise. He then said he doesn't make the rules, his company does and I told him I still had the right to ask questions. Hey, I get it if you're hot and sweaty and you don't like what you're doing, but being rude to a customer who is just trying to process why a 10-year warranty still costs an extra $2500, is not acceptable. read more

Been a customer for many years, but that ended today. The last time they serviced my HVAC units, they sent 2 service techs. One to service, and one to find issues and try to up sell. I was told there was too much back pressure and I needed more vents. They wanted thousands of dollars to make the repairs. When I said they were the ones to install the units, then he backed down a little. Not a fan of a business who's business plan is to try and up sell their good customers. I'm also not a fan of their service contracts. I'd rather pay as I go, but they charge extra for that. Time to find a new HVAC company. read more

We were having a problem with our AC. Madison came out to evaluate. He discovered a refrigerant leak. He needed to defrost the unit. He came back the next day to try to find it. He explained how difficult they are to find and the possible cost to repair. He brought a manager with him, Darren. They went over the possible problems and respective costs. DO NOT EVER do business with this company. Number one, they have not had a solid technician staff for months and have pushed out all their maintenance contracts appointments that their customers pay hundreds for. Number two, if you are calling for service don't bother unless your system is older than 10 years old because they will push you out for weeks. They only go to older systems so that their shady salesman can urge you to spend 15-40k on a new system. Then once you install that new system, you can look forward to installation errors and countless visits back to your home. Number three, cool air has received numerous complaints about their company using refurbished parts for repairs, causing customers to need bigger repairs in a few years maybe. Technician Eric E. came to my house today to trouble shoot and diagnose an issue with my AC. He was friendly, professional, extremely knowledgeable and made me feel at ease by explaining everything in detail in terms I could understand and follow. I was honestly shocked to see how much work and detail Eric put in for my quote on his tablet and also on paper after he had already spent an hour plus on all items on the 20pt inspection checklist. Kudos to Eric for going above and beyond! It made me feel like he cared and wanted to give me the best service possible. After going over all my options to rectify the issue(s) and pricing, I asked for pricing for a new AC unit and was lucky enough to snag an appt with field manager Darren for the same day who went into more detail with pricing and options. Both are top notch employees, super friendly and easy to talk with. I enjoyed working with them both. I had two AC systems installed by cool air solutions three years ago. The maintenance technician shows up today 1). he did not know that I had two systems. 2) $189 price increase to $309 . I would have bared that cost, only if he had customized his maintenance to what I needed. See I coil clean my ACs on my own monthly in the summertime. I didn't need this maintenance technician to do it I already know is good. So I asked him and his service manager, Antonio, to customize the regular maintenance to what I needed. They refused. *******BEWARE******* I had an issue with my AC making a buzzing noise and the fan would not spin. I called Cool Air, the scheduler was very friendly. They scheduled me for the next afternoon. I received a call a few minutes later for a cancellation, so I was able to be moved up to an AM slot. The technician came out, seemed friendly and professional. Was with the unit for about 30 minutes running the diagnostic. Then I got hit with the scam. Option 1: Of course, the suggestion is a new unit. He wanted to schedule a sales guy to come out. I asked a ballpark of a new unit. He reminded me that he wasn't in sales but it could be anywhere from $8k-$35k. That's just for AC no heating for my single story 1800 soft home. Option 2: Fix the unit with more warranties $1600 Option 3: Fix the unit with less warranties $1054 Of course, he stated there are no guarantees and it will just be a "bandaid." So I'm a little confused by the warranties and the automatic Residential Service Agreement. He also climes that my batteries were the wrong size. Spoke with 2 other professionals, they had no idea what that meant. A few other "claims" he made never made it to the report. I read a review from another person that had a similar experience. They went with Optimal Air. So, I called Optimal Air. WOW! Night and day. They were out within 2 hrs. My unit was up and running within 35 minutes of their arrival. New fan motor and capacitor (including labor) $400!!!!! After I realized that I had been duped for $98, I did call to express my concerns to Cool Air. The manager was unavailable and the girl taking my concerns seemed a little bored. She claimed that she would have someone get back to me. That hasn't happened. I have a service plan with this company as they bought my old HVAC contractor. Last two appointments I had they cancelled just before the tech was supposed to arrive as the tech had an "emergency". Complete nonsense as they called me the day before each time asking if I could move my appointment window and when I advised no they then call the next day stating "tech emergency" Don't waste your time here, they don't value your time and keep appointments. This review is long overdue. Cool Air installed a new samsung mini split system in our house last year. This was a big investment and our house is a challenge to cool because it has alot of windows and high ceilings. so we were cautious, but chose Cool Air because of their guarantees. We did have some issues after installation but I'm giving them 5 stars because they stood behind their guarantees and made everything work as sold and as expected. I don't typically leave reviews and while Cool Air does have mostly 4 or 5 star reviews and may be fine if you purchase a new system, I though I should leave a review of my experience for those like me that just wanted a fair estimate for service and were not interested in a new system at $10,000 plus. My AC was running but not cooling well on hot days. Technician said it was low on Freon and I was given an estimate with options from recharge and leak check all the way to new system which would require a salesman to come out for pricing. The lowest cost was Recharge with leak check at $3,502 . That is a ridiculous price, they claim R22 is $400 a pound when I have verified it can be purchased online for as low as $39 per pound ($399 for 10 lbs) with free shipping to 48 states ( Google It ). I know most HVAC companies are overcharging for R22 as it is being phased out, but it can still be used to repair old systems. They just want you to purchase a new system. The technician also left all the screws out of my air handler cover in the attic. How many people actually go in the attic to check this? Who knows how often he has forgot to replace the screws. My system was recharged with a leak sealant for less than $500 and is working great. I saved over $3000 for the same repair by not using Cool Air Solutions. read more

I wish I could put zero stars! Tony, from Cool Air Solutions, came to my house to look at my air conditioner that was not giving cold air. He gave me several very expensive estimates, including a new air conditioner! My AC is not that old, and I contacted many of my neighbors who have the same AC, and have not had any problems. One neighbor said he had to have a capacitor replaced and it wasn't very expensive, he then gave my a name of a AC person. I called that person and in minutes the AC guy replaced the capacitor and my AC was working!! (And it was not expensive) I would not recommend this company that takes advantage of people. read more

These guys are something special: I got a good Central AC from them. Their price was a bit better than in other places. After installing, I ran into some issues with the new AC. They came over multiple times untill the issue was fixed. Never asked me a panny for it or came up with excused to charge me with extra stull. They proactivelly reached out to me to give me my free one year maintenance. I had forgotten it. I have been having a hard time to get meet them for the maintenance, but they have been very patient. They are super professional and upfront about everything. We had a freon leak issue we couldn't solve. My only thing I could damper on was our tech couldn't seem to find out the solution the first go around and they had to come out a few times to figure it out with freon having to be replaced every couple weeks (yikes a big leak) The owner or manager, Dave was extremely kind and understanding of our situation and even came out to our house himself to check out the leak.
