Absolutely love this adorable coffee shop! I'm from out of state but every summer we spend weeks here and this is my go to spot! They're fast at making the coffee, it tastes great, and the shop Is super cute and has a great vibe! To start, I came here today during Covid. Things naturally are very different and we are aware of that. However, we've had nearly all positive experiences with take out and dining thus far. I ordered a tea, açaí bowl and smoothie from cool beans today. While I was waiting 20 minutes for these three items, my tea came out first. Roughly 5 minutes later, my açaí bowl came out. Of course, I was hoping my order would come out at once but not until 15 minutes later did my smoothie come out. While trying to put the açaí bowl in the shade, it still continued to melt since its 80 degrees out. Currently refreezing it and hope it was worth the money and time. You'd think common sense would be used to A.) Keep orders together, and B.) understand that people are doing mostly takeout- therefore, don't have frozen items sitting in the sun for 15 minutes and account for drive time for people. Loved their stuff in the past when I'm here but disappointed with carelessness today. Again, I'm aware we need patience with the circumstances but this was uniquely unacceptable. Okay, why isn't there one close to where I live?! One weird observation when I went last Summer: 90% of the patrons look like they are in the movie business. I kid you not. All good looking in the Hollywood sense of the word. For a moment, I thought I was back in Hollywood. Kind of adds to the feel of the spot, albeit unintentional on the part of the owners, I bet. Anyhoo...on to the review. Really digging the interior and ambiance of this spot. Casual, cool, comfy and eclectic furniture that enjoins the patron to sit down and actually take advantage of the free wifi, with music not too loud. The menu features just enough popular variety of coffee and tea for the enthusiast. The breakfast and lunch selections are inviting with plenty of healthy options (egg white frittata!, Acai bowl with fresh fruits, Kale salad, Chickpea quinoa, gluten free products) balanced by scrumptious cookie and dessert options (Ginger molasses! Mississippi Mud Pie!). I hope they will only use cage free eggs, in the tradition of their fair trade, organic coffee preference. Service was fast yet hepful, not rushed. As a regular of a chain coffeeshop brand, I sure would love to hang out at this joint instead if there was one near me. Perhaps the owners will consider putting a spot north of Narraganset...somewhere in Warwick...preferably by the airport... Coffee is excellent, baked goods are homemade and delicious! The acai bowl with peanut butter and granola is ridiculous.... I could eat it every morning! Great staff as well... Very friendly and on the ball. Great local spot you should hit daily if on vaca. Worth the long line if you catch one. read more

I was disappointed when I wanted to cool beans with my soccer team. When I got in there it was extremely slow and disorganized. My friends and order a fruit parfait and it came out all moldy. They immediately made me a new one and that one was moldy as well. They should not be happening for the price that we pay for the products. read more

Stopped in here for a latte and a cookie after it started raining at the beach. Very pleasantly surprised! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is super cute. I love their decor - lots of mismatched vintage looking armchairs, and they have this big antique dresser that they use to hold all the sugars and creamers. Friendly girls behind the counter. I got my food "for here," and got the drink in a nice latte mug and the cookie heated up on a plate, just the way it should be. Didn't get the food, but the sandwiches and gelato looked really good too. I bet this place gets swamped with kids sometimes, but it was almost empty when I was there (random afternoon time, rainy day), and it was a great spot to stop and read. They also seem to have a little lending library which included a well-worn copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which just warms my heart. Have been here twice now, wanted to try a smoothie acai bowl. I arrived at 2pm, their hours both days say they close at 3:30pm. They proceeded to tell me they were closing early at 3pm (Half hour early) which I thought was fine to order still. I can't say a bad word regarding the customer service here as everyone is welcoming and happy to have you there illustrated by their smiles. Yet the prep time does take a while longer, expected when it appears that 70% of orders are açaí bowls. When having it though, be prepared for that frozen mouth feeling. Avocado toast was rich in avocado but lacking in flavor. Also missing was the bacon counterbalance on a cheesy rich egg sandwich. Ordered an espresso and a cappuccino. Espresso was solid. The cappuccino was made more like a latte than a cappuccino (little/no foam, too much milk vs. espresso), but the taste was good. This is a very average place with cool cozy decor inside. The hot coffee tasted average with no special flavors. I'd rank this place slightly better than dunkin coffee. My significant other got a banana smoothie which tasted like Gerber food. It was good for a one time thing only. They use syrup for the flavoring. Cool Beans offers a good selection of drinks, sandwiches, and snacks for the hungry beach goers and active people of 'Gansett. I enjoy their coffee and tea drinks, including their selection of chai. Their spiced version is quite delicious and made even better with a shot of espresso. Their veggie wrap was quite good and freshly made while I waited. The bread was absolutely delicious and believe was almost of a naan or similar variety. They heated it up filled with grilled veggies and hummus. So good and perfect for a hot day. They cut it in two and gave me a bag of chips as well. The whole meal was decently priced and super tasty. The location is convenient to anyone visiting the beach, riding their bike towards the towers, or just needing a quick bight before heading on to nearby areas. The plaza features other restaurants but I find Cool Beans tends to hit the spot for lunch, a snack, or a cafeneited beverage. read more

The coffee is delicious! I consider myself to be a coffee snob, so imagine my delight when i stumbled upon a place that wasn't afraid to make a real cup of coffee. Their menu isn't huge but it has everything you need. Salads, sandwiches, cookies, bagels, muffins, and everything is homemade. Plus you can get beer & wine! Cool beans is great to order a coffee and muffin while working on your laptop. It's conveniently placed with just a short walk down to the beach/sea wall. Exceedingly bad experience at this local cafe. The baked goods were left out too long, stale and the average tasting, ungenerous sized coffee was overpriced comparatively. Prices of food items not posted on door menu. Rude waitstaff insulted then ignored our party. Outdoor tables, dangerously set up in a parking area with cars driving in and out, were dirty from previous customers and were closer together than six feet. Zero sanitation from staff observed during a long stay with much turnover. Some small tables had as many as 5 or 6 people, none wearing masks. Most customers not adhering to social distancing with no direction from management. Long wait in line to order, followed by even longer wait for food and drink to arrive. Close to 30 minutes. Coffee...AMAZING. Iced and hot, I think it's their own blend with New Harvest. Best coffee in town no question. But, for the love of God get some air flow in there! We went twice in one week and both times we had to wash our clothes and had to sit outside it was so stuffy in there.
