I WILL NOT recommend Cool Fish to my friends in Antiquity or anyplace else. Instead I'll gladly share with them the the experience that left a foul taste in my mouth and tell them to think twice before going to Cool Fish in Cornelius, NC I decided to try my neighborhood Sushi spot, I called and spoke to Rachel. I told her I've seen ads for a"free sushi roll"and I asked what do I need to do to receive the free roll. I asked about coupons and she told me to check Facebook Messenger, because that's where they advertise, to see if I found anything.. I found a message and called Rachel back and told her I saw a message about claiming a reward but I didn't see anything about free sushi, and wasn't sure how to proceed. She said just bring your phone in and we'll figure it out. She went ahead and put my your order in. There was a miscommunication about the free roll.. Rachel saw the message on FB from Cool Fish but couldn't find anything about a free roll. She said I would have to pay for the roll.. I asked for a manager and she came out to speak with me. She said "sorry there's nothing we can do about that if you don't have the coupon, you have to pay for your roll". That's why I called first to see what I needed to bring since it was my 1st time visiting Cool Fish. I paid for the roll and let the manager know I was not satisfied with how they handled the situation. At this point my opinion and rating of Cool Fish and their customer service, or lack thereof, went down to a "ZERO". There is ALWAYS "something you can do about it". I understand there was a miscommunication on both parties. I don't need to hussle Cool Fish for a free roll. You never let a patron leave disappointed. read more

I ordered tonight because I had been eyeballing this place for a week online. I was interested in the tacos. I also ordered a sushi roll and their spring rolls. The tacos were good. The spring rolls were definitely the frozen kind and u get 2 small ones for $4 bucks. I ordered the specialty roll and was soooo disappointed. I understand it being a few hrs before closing but at least make it look like a specialty roll. It was thrown in the container, The rolls were very small and it was drowned in some watery sauce. The rice was not sushi rice and when I picked up a piece of it, the roll fell apart. $14 down the drain. Also when checking out I noticed that my order was way more than what I calculated so I asked if My order could be repeated. Once she said the price of the food I noticed that the waiter had selected 20% gratuity, as I was standing there and pointed to it afterwards. I politely declined and added what I needed. Who does that for a take out order? I will not be coming back here. read more

Last couple of times...seemed like I was bothering the staff being there ..not a pleasant experience at all ..couldn't wait to leave.

The food is good. However, I went today and ordered takeout. I picked up the food, paid at the bar and walked out. The front door boy chased me into the parking lot and yelled at me across the parking lot, "Uh, hey you need to pay for that." It was super embarrassing. The sushi was delicious. Unfortunately the music was too loud, the waitress could not hear our order and we could not hear each other. In addition, the large glass garage doors were open, allowing some annoying flies on the bar. Also the air conditioner was not compensating for the doors being open and there seemed to be no fans either. Takeout beware! I ordered take out and I took more than an hour to get my order. There were only 3 tables filled in the restaurant when I ordered, however they continued to seat more tables and they received their food first. After about 30 minutes a waitress said it would be about 5-10 minutes. 20 more minutes later I had to ask again. It took another 10 minutes after that. No apology from a waitress or manager or even an explanation of what happened. Terrible customer service. Disappointing for sure, they definitely need a better system in place for takeout. read more

My girlfriend loved her sushi but the chicken waffle sliders were sub par, stick to the sushi if you're going here.

We have done COOL FISH twice in two weeks and been very pleased both times. Accessing the unique menu and ordering online was very easy. Pick-up was ready as promised, between 20-30 minutes. We especially love the fish tacos! Tasty fish with fresh mango, and reasonably priced. We look forward to dining in once the quarantine opens up. read more

I LOVED the atmosphere!! Cool vibe! Great outdoor seating. Food was just ok. Spicy edamame didn't have any taste other than spicy oil...was hot & bland. The lettuce cups were a thick lettuce cup with some tuna chunks on top. Again, no flavor. We did get a roll that was tasty but WAY too much sauce on top. Please note that this is out of character for me to complain about service. But it's getting ridiculous anymore and this was the breaking point for me. #1: When you call for carry out you shouldn't sound like you're bothering a person. #2 they should probably give you some more info like how much it cost and how long it will take before hanging up the phone on you. #3. When you call back and ask to speak to a manager, I do not expect to hear a different girl answer the phone slightly brighter and inform the other one on speakerphone that I wanted to speak to a manager and they audibly go 'whaaa' AND Hang up the phone. Three strikes and you're out... That is only to top it with the fact the manager whose name was Bree, Took the phone almost sounded like she was laughing she was trying overly hard to be chipper maybe, and says after I tell her the Sario asked me again what would be the most important points to discuss with the girls. I explain them to her. Questioning my decision to pick up the order... Absolutely no offer of reparation other then she would talk to them and they'll probably be happier when I come to pick up? WTH?!?!? One star for good food~But Otherwise if this is at all indicative of how the restaurant is Ron, God help you if you decide to dine in. read more

First time at cool fish after hearing good things. The sushi was presented well and tasted on par with other sushi places. My biggest complaint was after having very attentive service, the bill was dropped and I immediately reached for it to pay. 20 minutes passed before I had to stand up and hand my bill/card to our server. Bill was printed at 9:02, and credit card statement at 9:22. Again, food was okay, great presentation, but we were done and was held hostage for 20 minutes before we could leave. read more

We moved here last year from San Diego and I am very picky when it comes to places that serve sushi. So am really excited to finally have a good sushi place close by that is fresh, creative and fun. My only complaint is when we went during their soft opening they had a DJ and the music was way too loud. I felt like I was in a Las Vegas Night Club. I enjoy good music but it was annoying that I couldn't hear my husband who was sitting right next to me or the waiter. If a live DJ is going to be a regular thing I really hope they can turn it down. Other than that our server was really nice and the food was good. We will be back. read more

If you have a young child, don't go here, they're not interested in your business. They don't have any high chairs and the hostess wouldn't even let us sit at a table with a bench where our daughter could be next to us because it was "reserved for parties of four or more." Went a couple days ago and found the sushi to be pretty good. I asked about basic kind of rolls and they will make regular rolls like spicy salmon for $5.95, a much better price then most sushi items in the menu. They said the regular menu is not ready yet and not sure when the full menu will be released. They did charge for eel sauce ($.50) which I thought was kinda ridiculous, like really, that cheap about it? Also for the poke bowls they will not let you do salmon which was a bummer because I do not like tuna that much so I couldn't get a poke bowl like I wanted. I didn't want a fancy roll because from the pictures posted here they seem kind of small for the price. Another thing to note is the seating is pretty uncomfortable, chairs are not comfy to sit on, it's a piece of hard metal. The service was very good only a few tables occupied at the time. The owner just watching tv at the bar, didn't help the bar tender at all who was also serving the tables. Overall the sushi seemed fresh and was made well so I will most likely come back. This is the second time ordering from this restaurant thru Door Dash since I travel to this area often. My first experience was fine even though I felt like the sushi could've been a little better for the cost. My second experience was absolutely awful! I ordered 2 sushi items, again thru Door Dash. I received my order and upon opening the well stapled and sealed bag, I find NO soy sauce! Who eats sushi without soy sauce? I called the restaurant and after going thru 2 people and having to call back before speaking to a manager to be told they prepare every bag and soy sauce is always in the bag and it must have been lost in transit. I might not be the brightest tool in the shed, but for someone to get the soy sauce out of the bag or for it to fall out, you would have to tear the bag and for it fall out if that was even an option, the sushi would've been tumbled all in the tray. I mean, there is no way to get into this bag without tearing it and they're wasn't a tear anywhere. All I kept getting from the manager was finger pointing at Door Dash. To finally be told that I would have to come get the soy sauce! Very, very poor customer service! I tried to eat the sushi without it, but ended up throwing half of it away as it wasn't very good. I won't be going back and where I formerly recommended them to my friends that live in the area, I won't anymore and have told them to find another place. And for Door Dash, they did give me a small credit for my inconvenience. It certainly wasn't their fault. read more
