They did not install the correct size return vent so our heater kept overheating. It would cycle on and off every few minutes and say it was heating when no air was moving. We literally had them come out 4 times before they found out what the issue one. The first 3 times they gaslit us and said that is was our Nest or a draft in an interior wall... I think they have only one good employee because the 4th guy to show up told us he liked to get paid for his overtime and would stick around until he got to the cause of the problem. Also when they finally "fixed" the return vent to a proper sized, they botched the install and had cracks in the ceiling and random screws sticking out in places. So they had to come back again to fix that mistake.

I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. I held off on giving a review because I wanted to make sure the cooling worked and it does!!!! Jesus came to give me a quote for HVAC replacement. But when he looked at the failed unit, he told me I may fix it for you and he did!. What a surprise, :) he saved me thousands of dollars. He even didn't want to charge me for anything but when I insist, he just charged me for a simple diagnosis service. He could have charged me for a full HVAC replacement! but he fixed it!. :) Their Yelp five star is a real FIVE. These guys are super honest which might be rare in these days!. I had to let tech come earlier but felt slow on task- only found switch not working. Felt it was Appropriate pricing for diagnosing our house fan = $79. I Was told they have to check if the kind of switch we have is available. Then gave me an estimate of $395 to change the "faulty switch" for quietcool. But $79 diagnostic fee go towards the $395. Thankfully, I got a 2nd opinion from a coworker's husband who is an electrician and researched some more online about the estimate. TOO STEEP! The switch is only $35-50 in home depot. I understand we all need to make a living but dayyyyyym.

The work was scheduled to begin the following Monday at 8:00. The three person crew was on site on time and completed the job by 3:00. They were efficient, friendly, kept our house and work area clean and organized. 100% of the old material was hauled away, leaving no sign they were ever there. We could not have been more pleased! We have since made referrals to three of our neighbors and highly recommended Airmech and Alex to anyone considering a system upgrade or replacement. The installed price was very competitive and actually lower than the prices paid by some of our neighbors. All available rebates were applied to help offset the total cost. We paid them almost $8,000 and within the past year we have called them several times because the freezer constantly gets warm and stops working. They always come out, check it, make whatever adjustments and then a month later same issue. Memorial Day weekend my manager calls to have them come out because the freezer is excessively loud and one of the fans stopped working. Arctic HVAC's tech shows up and is there for only 5 minutes and says it's fine now. A few days later the temp climbs to 30 degrees. This time we call them back because we are still in warranty, and this time absolutely NO response. We then called another company who came out in a few hours. Diagnosed the problem as a burnt out fan motor due to ice on the coils. They fixed it and I'm out $1,000 because Arctic HVAC Solutions is incompetent and have wasted our time for the last year. DO NOT HIRE them!! I don't write a lot of reviews and I understand business is hard out there but this experience has been a headache and I will never hire them again.
