I sent the plans as requested and the person to contact me when they had the time. However, they never followed up. I had 3 other companies with various diagnosis of my heat pump. Even so, none would or could help. Paul with Sun was a very responsive and professional technician. I told him what I was told. After evaluation he advised what he thought with almost positive assurance of the problem. Sure enough, he returned with solution that fixed the problem. One company said I needed a part that couldn't be found by anyone which I located but would be about 2k to fix. Another backed out of the same assumed repair wrongly diagnosed. Another also said I need new system. Paul with Sun evaluated, said they were all wrong, reclaimed 4.5 lbs of Freon, and now my overcharged system works fine. Considering... He did a great job replacing an (24 years old) A/C compressor to hopefully extend the A/C system usefulness couple more years (our plan to save some money for a new system). It's been working nicely since. I felt compelled - I usually write reviews for very good service or very bad service, not just OK - to write a review this time because he again did a great job 2 days ago inspecting a noise that happened for about 10 minutes in the attic where the HVAC is. He found the old capacitor for the blower may be inefficient, replaced it. While he was here, he also checked air outlets, compressor fan, etc. and explained few ins and outs to us. All for the price of a service call and cost of a capacitor. I highly recommend him - an honest and good A/C guy is hard to find! read more

Paul is the guy to go to for all HVAC concerns. He's extremely efficient, priced competitively and won't try and up sell unnecessary fixes like other HVAC companies in the area. During the reroofing process, needed to get an HVAC inspection and used another highly reviewed company that pops up early on yelp and google searches. Their prices were well above market for the fixes. After the roofing process was completed, reinspected the units this time uses Paul, he inspected for a better price, but more importantly his same solutions, came out to less than half the cost. I moved to Sacramento 2 years ago in July. 3 weeks later my AC went out. A friend of mine recommended Paul. I contacted him and he came out the same day. I was stressing because I thought I had to replace the whole unit. And I was a little worried that he would try to rip me off because I am a woman and have ZERO knowledge about AC units! I was pleasantly suprised how honest he was. He told me I didn't need a new unit right then but would have to get one in the near future. He serviced it and got it running and it only cost me 40 bucks! Fast forward to 2 years later, my AC was not kicking on everytime I turned the unit on so I wanted to be proactive and have it looked at. I remembered how honest Paul was and called again. I was thinking he would tell me it needs to be replaced because after all, he did say it will need to be replaced at somepoint. Paul looked at it and suggested he put a booster in it which would assist the compressor. He charged $85 which was still really reasonable. Paul guarantee's his work as well. I am a new home owner and the outlets in my kitchen would not work. I was referred to Paul at Sun Air by my home warranty plan. It was Friday at 4pm and thought I was going to be out of luck. Well, I was wrong and he showed up wearing a mask and went over and beyond in customer service skills. He showed me where my breaker was and explained the kitchen was "tripped" and showed me how to fix that as well as what outlets to use in the kitchen for my appliances. Paul was very professional and nice! When he came to our house we thought the problem was the condensate pump not pumping the water out because the closet floor where the A/C coils are housed was wet, but luckily he thought about it over night and called to come back out to check it again and found that the pump was fine, we had a hole in the drain pan under the coil so the water was dripping to the floor and the condensate pump wasn't filling up with water to pump out. Not to mention that he came back out on a Sunday. We were so glad that he was able to correctly diagnose the problem and fix it. Its been about 2 years ago my ac unit went out. I called 3 different repair companies and all of them charged me just to look at it & they also told me it was un repairable and needed to be replaced. They quoted me from $15,000 upwards to $20,000 for a new AC. I knew they were trying to rip me off. Being a woman and not mechanially incline I've experienced many dishonest mechanics.
