The mahi tacos were good, but not incredible. The nachos were covered in a weird red honey sauce that ruined them. The pimento burger was wonderful and waffle fries are great. Went with my partner for a fun evening. The server was so rude! I felt incredibly uncomfortable, being treated as if we didn't belong. Obligatory greeting, waited forever on drinks (it was dead), and never was served again. We paid for our two drinks and left. Will never go again. Seems like the place where only a few are welcome and anyone who doesn't fit in with their esthetic can stay away. I work hard for my money, won't waste it again. read more

The blackened Mullet Creek Mahi tacos were good, but not great. I saw another photo of them on here where they had some kind of mango salsa instead of corn and black beans and I think that would've definitely elevated the tacos. The black bean corn salsa just doesn't add much flavor. My husband had the French Dip and said it was good, but the onions were a little undercooked. The Fried Mac N' Cheese Cake though - now that's where it's at. 10/10 cheese on cheese on cheese. Well worth the $2 upgrade charge for your side. read more

We just moved to Calabash a few months ago and have been looking for that place we just can't live without. We found it with Cooper's. I would tell ANYONE visiting to go here!! We've been twice in one week and had amazing service both times. I'm not sure of her name but she wears her name in high pigtails, and they were purple- she is AMAZING! My water was never half empty before she refilled it, she checked on us just enough, and the environment is great. We like live music, but when it's not so loud you can't talk to your family. They have two sides of the restaurant making it perfect for us. The french dip is AMAZING. And don't even get me started on the fried Mac n cheese! I can't recommend this place enough. Plus there is a wall of dog pictures that makes every bad day good! read more

Today I had lunch with friends here. This is my second time eating at Cooper's Tavern. I've had dinner in the past & enjoyed it. The restaurant was nicely decorated & I was greeted right upfront with a chalkboard of the day's & month's specials. I ordered the Monthly hamburger special... topped with blue cheese! I had the sweet potato fries which were served in the cutest little bucket! The burger was one of the best I've eaten in months! My friends ordered the Blue Plate Special which was meatloaf, mashed potatoes & a vegetable. My husband, a light eater, ordered the peel & eat shrimp. There was so much shrimp that he brought he some home. The service was very good. I'll/ we'll be returning here soon. I definitely recommend this tavern to anyone who enjoys good food ! read more

We're at Sunset Beach, NC for the week. Looked on Yelp for restaurants in Little River. Finally saw one with very good ratings. It was Coopers Tavern. Our grand dog's name is Cooper so it really caught my attention. So we decided to go and of all things the owner is a Tennessee volunteer fan!. Really cool since Michael & I were wearing our UT Vols shirts! Food was great, service was wonderful and we got to watch Ga & Auburn play. Loved the whole thing!!!! I had the fried Mahi bites from the appetizer list and had the fried Mac & cheese. Oh my goodness....both were soooooo yummy!!! Mike had the Gouda burger and the famous waffle fries. He loved the burger and the fries were to die for(I am not a fry person but wanted to at least taste them. WOW!!!! The seasoning was fantastic. I didn't even have to use ketchup (LOL)!
