Ho hum experience at best. Greeting was great but then, beer list wasn't updated, my wife orders a garden burger, got meat. We ordered apps, halfway through eating them, all of our other food showed up. Waitress wanted to know if I was done with the apps, had a hard time answering as I was still chewing them... Food was mediocre, go to Bennett's, much better. She asked if I wanted another beer, I said yes....it never came. Finally she came around, we were done, asked if we wanted more drinks and I asked for the check. 15 minutes later, I had to go to the bar to get it. Very disappointed, bad service, bad experience, won't go back. Try somewhere else in town, trust me! read more

This place is a Seattle 1, but an Ocean Shores 4. So I am compromising on three stars. The thing is, Ocean Shores is kind of a restaurant desert (for quality, though certainly not for quantity). How can it be that a town that gets this many visitors has so few decent eateries? Frankly, they whole damn place is a mystery to me--spectacular setting, but every business in town wears the signs of neglect and decline. It's as though there is some sort of municipal code requiring everything to be a little bit crappy and disappointing. Copalis Cove is no different. Decent menu? Sure, but it's super limited and riddled with errors. Nice space? It's obviously been remodeled recently, but in kind of a half-assed way. Service? Warm greeting, but in three visits we had three different servers, none of whom managed to be better than marginal. Family friendly? According to the sign, but they only have one high chair for the whole joint. Food quality? Ok, I guess, but super inconsistent--some bland, some salty, some nuclear hot, some refrigerator cold. Still, out of 8 restaurant meals over an extended Labor Day weekend, this place was probably better than average for Ocean Shores. It's not saying much, but if you are stuck spending your dining dollars in the armpit of Washington coastal resorts, you could do much, much worse. read more

We visited here as part of our vacation. The vibe is great, the beer selection was wide and cold, and the service was prompt. I got the chicken sandwich and my fiancée got the steamers. Perused local establishments and chose this one. We sat right by the service window and watched some solid food go out. Fish and chips, outstanding. Burger was approved by the six-year old. He's a picky one and gave it 5 stars. Caesar salad with salmon addition. Amazing. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I'm serious about my seafood, and these guys did a great job. Chowder is very nice, as was the loaded baker my daughter got. I don't typically eat coleslaw, but theirs is very good! Finding decent food in Ocean Shores doesn't seem to be easy these days. Going forward, this will be my spot when we come to town. Drinks were great too! And no, I am not drunkenly reviewing. 100% recommend! Service was top notch. Today was my second time in this restaurant. They need to make some changes in their cooking. Last week I had a dinner salad and Clam Chowder. Dinner Salad was served in a cereal bowl size, only lettuce and a few sprinkles of cheese. Clam Chowder was not creamy, It looked like it was made with chicken broth. Today, I returned with a friend. She ordered the grilled chicken avocado $17.99 and I the Copalis burger %14.99 with cheese. Neither sandwiches came with any sauce, neither the meats were not seasoned at all. It was crammed in to a small oval silver container. We had to ask for a plate to place our sandwiches on. We both decided we will not be back. Sorry I had no pictures to post. read more

The place has been renovated and is a lot nicer than before. Food is good and told they smoke the prime rib themselves. Depending on who is working, the service can be good. Stephanie is very attentive and will chat you up and takes care of business at the same time. Great menu but some items were pretty pricey for what they were. The calamari is rings and tentacles but the tentacles were overcooked (they can't be deep fried together for the same amount of time; bad move on their part). They only had one server who was busting her behind. Food was taking too long for only having three tables and no one at the bar. The problem was definitely in the kitchen. We ordered apps and entrees and it ALL came out together which was a bummer. I don't see us coming back unless things improve . They're going to have a tough time in the summer if they don't get squared away. I don't know if they're having trouble with staffing shortages - but they can't have just one server covering the bar AND dining room. read more

Sorry to hear that Pirates Cove closed. We always stopped by for lunch and recommended it to all our friends. Still, it's only fair to give the new place a chance. We didn't stay after looking at the menu prices and feeling the vibe, bland and without character or identity. Bathrooms were awful. Toilet paper set ON the dispenser. Stalls don't lock unless you give the wall a good pull. #1- It's now a family friendly place. Sometimes a person would like to just enjoy their meal without children. I could always do that at the Cove. #2- The prices! Holy cow! $18.00 for a burger?! Beer selection is good. Not so much for the Crown Royal. Basic flavor only. #3- the curb appeal is lacking. We couldn't even tell if it was open until we saw a couple at a table. The open sign is not very obvious. In a nutshell, it was a disappointment. Great little spot in Ocean Shores. So happy the chowder was pork free, it was delicious. We had dinner and then went back from breakfast the next day. Gained five pounds on opening day! This place is gorgeously redone, nothing like the dingey old Pirate's Cove bar that used to be there. The food is spectacular. I could not stop eating, everything looked so good! People were offering me samples of what they had, in addition to me ordering too many things off of the gourmet menu, and not one thing I tried was anything less than the best ever. Even the cheese sticks were a revelation! Predicting that this great new restaurant, created by the same folks who own the wonderful Green Lantern Pub up the road, will be the hottest spot in town once people know it's open! The waitress did not tell us her name. I asked her if there were specials she says no. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon had red onions and lettuce. No sauce was extremely dry. I asked for honey mustard she says nope we don't have that. She didn't come back and check on us for awhile. But when a bunch of people came in and sat behind us she introduced herself and asked what they wanted to drink. We eventually found out her name was Brittany. I asked for a plate to cut my sandwich in half. She stomped off and brought me one. I paid in cash she looked at the money then back up at me she assumed I was paying with a card and didn't ask me. The onion rings were very greasy she never brought ketchup that we asked for. Place was clean but the cook and staff are extremely loud singing and laughing. Best customer service I have personally experienced in Shores. Not only was she kind, she was patient and seemed to really enjoy what she was doing. Also- they make their ranch in-house, which is also amazing. Will go again even if it is just for those two things, my drink while waiting for my to-go order was fantastic. Decent stark interior Timid and frightful, but sweet and kind server Over-priced beer and food My husband and I went in after a 3+ mile hike out at Damon Point and were looking forward to a fresh delicious lunch. #1: asking for the bleu cheese to be swapped with cheddar had the server shivering in her timbers. The salads were served on square plates which made tossing them without dumping lettuce onto the table quite tricky. #2: We ordered the cheese sticks but those did not arrive early. They were served with our lunch. Unfortunately the ooey gooey goodness was instead cold and quite un-gooey or melted in the middle. They were sent back. I had asked for my salad without tomatoes. Alas, it still came with a plethora of juicy sliced tomatoes that were mixed nicely into the dressing. Overall we were quite disappointed. There was zero offer of a discount for any of the negative events. We did not want to create a scene or frighten the unnecessarily timid server by asking for any kind of discount given both offenses. 2 salads, 1 beer and 1 iced tea = $50 was excessive considering I had to fish tomato cooties out of my $20 salad. read more
