Getting your car diagnosed and fixed is like seeing a doctor. Different opinions and different prices. Originally I wanted to go the cheapest route when helping a single mom friend out since we were footing the bill. My husband wanted to go with someone he already trusted: Coppell Tire & Auto... and I'm so glad we did! They gave her car a complete exam. The cheap fix would have been wasted money. First timer: I give this place 2 stars: 1-for an employee who apologized for the delay in my vehicle not being completed in a timely manner and 2-they got the job done, 6.5 hours later that is, (but who's counting). They lose 3 stars for the the worst customer service in the most inconvenient way possible. #1) They offer pick up and drop off's which I came to find out after they'd drop me off and I later called to inquire if they'd be able to pick me up, well---a douchebag, maybe Shannon? answered the phone after inquiring him of pickup assistance he clearly states,"If you need to be picked up in an hour, you need to call back in an hour when you're ready---I won't remember that. We are not a cab service." ("Huwhaathef*!?!" is right!) #2) You do not get a courtesy call when your vehicle is ready, so just show up. I did and the first time, it was ready. Second time, well, they had other priorities, because, again lack of courtesy; they fail to notify if your vehicle is completed or not. And "busy" should never be an excuse for your lack of courtesy. Anyone can take bullshit. It's understandable and more acceptable than failure to be courteous to those who pay you to have a job. #3) They offered a pick up alright, which my location was 4min away...I waited----45min to an hour later, resulted in me calling for an Uber ride to the shop...even my Uber driver had thought this place would be solid, I told him me too. read more

Just a few days ago my driver side window fell down and wouldn't roll back up. After calling a few places, Coppell Tire & Auto was the only place that seemed genuinely interested in helping in a quick timeframe. It was around 3 in the afternoon, so I knew getting someone to fix it that day was going to be hard. After arriving and letting them know I will be waiting on the car, they made sure to work on it quickly so I could have the car back the same day. I felt like I paid a fair price (as I had called other places) and was treated well. I waiting just a little over an hour and then was on my way. I do need to have more work done on my car and I will not hesitate to bring it back here. They are honest about what the problem is and I'm happy to find a reliable mechanic! Fantastic service! Sadly I had taken my care to a different shop for a front brake job and they wanted over $500 plus wanted me to replace a strut for total cost of over $1,200! The folks at Coppell Tire & Auto took a look I only needed a standard brake job for $250. Additionally, they did a great job of removing a hitch from the car. I had an issue with my 11-yr old truck--it was heaving/surging when turned on or switching gears, so I reviewed all the Yelps for mechanics in the area. Settled on Coppell Tire & Auto to have them evaluate my truck and do some long-needed maintenance. When we called in for Saturday service, they were more than welcome to take us in on short notice. We dropped off my truck, ran some errands, and got the call some time about mid-afternoon regarding what was needed. Yep, I've been neglecting ALL of the normal mileage tuneups with 110k on my dash; but the mechanics at Coppell Tire & Auto knew that and gave me a laundry list of things "that had to be done". The labor and parts came out to what I expected and we gave them the okay to do the work, i.e. replacing coil pack, ignition pack, spark plugs (yep that was the source of my power issues), air filter, and induction service. DESPITE THAT THEY WOULD BE CLOSING IN A FEW HOURS, they said that they'd have it ready after EOB and we could pick it up. So very grateful they let us come back at 7p to fetch my truck. They even gave us a quote on what they suspected was a failing camshaft synchronizer (I had also complained about an intermittent squeak coming from under the hood) and said that it wasn't urgent to replace, but it needed to get done sooner rather than later. They also encouraged us to shop around for a better price on parts and service for this issue--wow! What started out as a 4-star visit turned into a 5-star experience after the great attention and service they gave me. My truck is running smoothly again. I'm hoping with these guys' help, I will make it to 150k miles. Thanks! read more

I went in to Coppell Tire & Auto on a colleague's recommendation, and am glad I did. I initially took my vehicle to National Tire and Battery (NTB) and they told me I needed to replace a belt and fluids that would amount to more than $250, which would fix a squeal that my car was making. Coppell Tire and Auto checked into it, and not only didn't charge me a penny, but fixed it by simply lubricating the belt.The service was exceptional and Brad was very helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns. I had my car battery died on me twice and came here after some researches done on Yelp. I called before I came here and they do walkins on a weekday after office hours 4-5pm! Which is pretty awesome since I don't have to wait. The whole process is very fast, it didn't take me more than 30 min to get it replaced! I took my son's 1996 Nissan Maxima here after we notices a leak under the engine. Their first diagnosis was it was a leaking power streering line which cost me ~$180. However, the next day the car was still leaking in the same spot. Took the car back and the refixed the leak they claimed to have fixed the first time. After the second repair the car continued to leak from the orignial location. Returned the car a thrid time and was told it was the radiator that was leaking and it would be another $380 dollars. When asked why they didn't find the leak after two tries they said this was a new leak. So, I decided to get a second opinion from Christian Brothers in Valley Ranch. They properly check the entire car over and used dye to determine where the leak was actually coming from and found the radiator leak and another leak in the crank shaft that could have left my son stranded if the leaky seal had gotten much worse. I had used Coppell Auto in the past, but after this fiasco and poor customer service I would not recommend then to anyone. read more

I'm sorry, but those other reviews must be from the mechanics. Do NOT take your car here, they are a complete ripoff! My husband took his car here because his ac was working sometimes but not others. They said it was going to be $741 to fix the blower motor, resistor, and wiring harness (I wrote all of this down, that's the only reason I know these words). Anyway, he said no thanks. When I came it to pick the car up I asked them since the ac worked sometimes if it could just be the resistor or wires and not the blower motor, and he said no, it's all of them. I just drove the car home (ac working at that time). I called my old mechanic who is too far away to go to and asked him about it, and he said it would be really unusual for all of those to go out at the same time, especially if the ac still blew on and off. My husband who doesn't know anything about cars decided to take a look and found a wire thing connected to the resistor and part of it was burnt out. That part cost $100 new at Kia (we went and got one for $5 at a junkyard!) and he put it on in TEN MINUTES!!! And yes, it's working just fine! Those guys are just thieves in uniforms!!! I'm just upset that we spent $50 on a diagnostic fee when they were just trying to scam us! I'd rather drive an hour to my old mechanic than take my chances with them! read more
