We had an album release party for Ellie Fern this past weekend. Our first contact Ryan helped us secure the location and all the details about the event. Ryan made this process very easy and handled any questions that I had like a pro. The night of the event Justin and Sonia were are event managers and they did everything in their power to make this a great event. They made sure that the host as well as the guests will comfortable and that all our needs were met. The servers were on the ball and we're engaging and courteous with all our guest. Dannon our sound guy did a great job making all the talent feel comfortable as well as sounding great. The facility itself was perfect. Probably shouldn't say this, but you can't beat $23 per person ($32 after tax/fees) for two hours of comedy. We saw Jay Pharoah and AJ Foster opened for him. Both were great but I didn't stop laughing with AJ. Wish his time was a little longer. The venue is the perfect size and opens into the adjacent bar afterward. Wait staff was attentive, (though there were a lot of beers on draft our server couldn't name without a menu.) Will definitely be back to see others. read more

Went here for live comedy. The theater space with tiered seating areas at small or large, table and booth group seating had good sound and visibility. The best set up of three comedy venues we've been to. Arrived about 20 minutes before a 9:30 showtime and had good seating choices for 2 or 4 and time to order from the FnB menu. Good service, unobtrusive during the show but very available. Copper Blues is located at the west end of The District on the south side. Went to a KNIX charity concert to benefit Phoenix Fire Association at CBLive Desert Ridge. The venue was quaint, the acoustics are perfect for a small venue and ever seat in the house was great. Walk over to the restaurant for some great food and to escape the crowd you won't be disappointed!! I like that you're able to go back and forth with ease. I really wanted to be able to give this place a better review, but after several visits, it's just ok. Music is definitely hit or miss depending on your taste. The first night we came here, we saw Retro Active and DJ V-Easy, amazing, we will be back every weekend. The next time we came we sat on the patio, thank goodness, but the music was still loud and the artist was like nails on a chalkboard!! Hit or miss, but you have to expect that with different types of music. The constant miss is the food! We have tried a bit of everything, but everything seems to be heavily seasoned, with one very strong taste generally! The fries have very heavy Copper (Cumin) seasoning! The Margarita pizza, very heavy on rosemary! Haven't been to a live event yet, but they do seem to have good talent. It's close and does have good entertainment, so we'll just eat first! read more

Love Copper Blues downtown and we were so excited to try Cb live but we were so disappointed. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks and by that time happy hour was over. Food was ok. Food was constantly coming to wrong tables in our section. Food runners were confused and frustrated. We hardly saw our waitress. By the time we got our food (90 minutes after we arrived) it was cold and soggy. Gave two stars bc the ambiance and live music was nice. read more

Accidentally found this going to Whining Pig and what a great find. They have AmAZing craft cocktails and about 30 beers on tap. The barkeep Rachel is great! Didn't try any food but the Whiskey Smash and Mule is amazing its on tap and they make ALL there own mixers homemade. Will definitely be back!! read more

Came here for a comedy show and it starts as a rap show. Not what I paid for at all! More annoying then comedic! You want to see a two show them come, if you want to see comedy gone late. We come here quite often but it's apparently changed. Definitely needs to find a new starter. read more

Went to Yappy Hour event in desert ridge with our dog and afterwards went to Cooper blues for a bite. Waited a while for the hostess to show up and meanwhile several servers passed by without even trying to see if we've been helped. If it were a full night I could understand being busy but it was half way full. Once the hostess showed up she sit us in a bar/high chair area opposite of the tables. We didn't mind but had we known what would happen we would have tried to get different seats. 20 plus minutes passed and no server ever came too take an order! We saw 2 different servers come and go in the patio but they only served the tables by the fence. Again when they passed us they looked like they were trying to not even look in our direction. Mid way we asked the hostess if we could get a server and she politely let's us know she'd find them. A few minutes later I over heard her talk to one of the patio servers if they could serve us but they said our area wasn't their tables. More time passed by and during the wait 4 other couples seating in the same bar area ended up coming and going for the same reason. At the end our patience was done also and we went to eat elsewhere. You'd think the goal of doing events is to try and get as much customers to come eat/drink but apparently that's not the case with CB. The hostess was nice but the issue was all the servers around that didn't seem to care. Only reason why I gave 2 stars and not 1 is for the CB live comedy club but even then don't think will go back anytime soon. read more

The manager called me and stated he would ensure our party would be comfortable. When our guests arrived they were greeted and escorted to our VIP section. I love this bar. I went to celebrate my birthday which is between Christmas and New Year. The attendant Violet was super attentive and asked me how many people I was waiting for. That's when the very attentive manager Anthony also offered me the reserved area. The rock band of the day was excellent. The food was great. The celebration was excellent and everything was perfect. I only have praise for all the staff who are very attentive and always smiling. read more

I live by Desert Ridge and had noticed that any time we were around to visit another restaurant or store on the weekend, this place was suspiciously empty. Now I know why. We went there for their "Superbowl party" today. The KUPD people who were "sponsoring" the game carried in their stuff through the line of waiting people about 10 minutes before opening. One of them, bearded guy in black t shirt, was so incredibly rude to the nice elderly lady who moved his sign from behind the door to where people could see it, that she was almost in tears and it took all I had to stay quit and not rip him a new one. He barked at her "that sign goes where I PUT IT, that's why I put it there in the first place" Uhm okay dude, you leave your sign where it's blocked by a row of people and yell at an old lady. Class act. Doors opened at 3PM. The place was not even half full after the waiting line was seated, should have been our first clue. Other than turning the sound up, there was no "hosted party". If that was the only problem, I would chalk it up to just one-day. But the food was awful. Like, "cardboard tastes better" awful. And at exorbitant prices. The service was even worse. It took 40 minutes to get a drink, longer to get food delivered in random bursts of 1-2 plates at a time for a party of 9. We dropped $400 for awful food and were so disappointed that we wanted to leave at halftime. One of our friends asked to see the manager to tell him the service had been non-existent. He didn't even offer an apology. I chimed in and told him to make this right, we had already paid the bill and weren't looking for a refund but the least he could do was offer desert or something to the kids in our party. He got very defensive and asked "well, I didn't cook the food, what do you expect me to do?" I don't know dude, you work in this industry, you tell me what you should be doing. He went to the kids to offer them desert after I insisted and they actually, politely, turned him down. The food had been so awful that our teenagers didn't even want to try desert there. He then dropped off a "souvenir" for us in the form of 3 plastic drink cups. Wonderful prize for spending 4 hundos. I will not return here. My prediction is that unless they straighten out their food, prices and service, this place will not last more than 2 years. read more

After months of anticipation I was so excited to see that CBlive had finally opened and that Whitney Cummings was going to be there! We had such a great time and had a great table next to the stage! I am so excited that there is now somewhere to see comedy shows that is not either in Tempe or downtown. The drinks were great and the food was great. Friendly atmosphere and a very cool venue. So disappointed in tonight's experience. I received an email 3 days ago about an event starting at 6:00 pm. The email stated "first come first served". No mention of tickets or reservations required. When we arrived at 4:30 pm, there were about 20 or more empty tables with "reserved" signs. We were told it would be a 2 to 3 hour wait to be seated. In addition, when we asked why the hostess just shrugged and offered no apology or reason. We made a special effort to see this performer but ended up going to another restaurant for dinner and drinks. This was poorly orchestrated and CB , one of my favorites places, now has little appeal for a return visit. read more

First time here... love this place. Luckily we got here early enough to get the last seats at the bar because no one has left in the 2 hours we've been here. The band North is playing and they're great. The bartenders, Rachel and Meredith are fast and super friendly. I only drink beer but Susie likes cocktails and loved the "Basket Case." Haven't even order yet but the food would have have to be awful for me not to make this one of my favorite places. Will definitely be back... and often. read more

We had a 6:15 reservation, had to wait a bit but no big deal. Our table was so wobbly we had to be careful all night or drinks would spill. I tried to fix it and mentioned it to no avail. We ordered food and my wife's burger came out inn 30 minutes, and my pizza 30 minutes after that. The food was hot and good though. They have a great beer selection, but they were out of most of them and the bartenders and waitress didn't know what they had until you ordered. It took ordering 4-5 beers over the course of 30 minutes to finally find one that they did have. Both of the bands we heard were amazing. People were having a great time. Our bill was a mess and there were things on there we didn't order and beer prices were $8-$11 for beers we didn't get and that they were probably out of anyways. However, our Uber arrived and I didn't have time to attempt a resolution. So, the food was good, but really slow. Great beer selection, but they're out of everything. Bar was really slow but waitress tried and kept apologizing. The bill was a mess and I was overcharged. That being said, the music was really good and we had a good time, but that was due to the band, not the venue. read more

I've been here a few times now. Both for comedy shows as well as to come hang out at the bar. Wednesday Karaoke nights are super fun also! The food has always been delicious and the drinks are great too. We came lastnight to see Pablo Fransisco. The venue was packed, which for them is a good thing. For patrons, it was kind of annoying and a bummer. The tables are small and they squish 4 seats around a tiny round table made for 2. Then all the tables are so close together, you're basically sitting in the laps of one another. It was so crowded the servers couldn't even fit through, so everytime someone at the table in front of us needed/wanted something, we would all have to shuffle our chairs around or get up so the servers could get by. It was fine the first two times but by the 5th, 6th, 7th, time of having to move and shuffle I was getting pretty annoyed and irritated. Another reference of just how small the tables are, when I ordered my drink it was one of the specials. It was advertised as being served in a CB Live glass to keep and take home, it also came with 2 free tickets to a future show! It was $18. When the server came back with our drinks, they were served in a regular, small cocktail glass. She said we will get our souvenir glasses at the end of the show due to the high possibility that the glasses will fall of the table and break. I thought that was weird but soon realized as people around us started breaking glasses (from being knocked off the tiny tables) it made sense! If this is a known problem, why wouldn't you remedy the issue? Get bigger tables or let less people in! It's also got to be a safety issue cramming that many people into that small space. Especially since they close the front entrance and make everyone exit out the back to the bar. Yikes!! Hate to see what happens in a true emergency. I will be back for future shows, but I will definitely request to not be sat at one of the tiny tables. read more

Went here the other night for trivia, themed about the TV show "Friends". It was a nice venue, with a very large amount of seating. Parking was a bit tough, but that's because it was an event night. The food was really good- I had a chicken cesar salad, and a desert "pizookie". No complaints about either. Decent beer selection as well. My one complaint was that the service was very slow. I understand it was a busy night, but given an event was going on, they could've planned better and had more people working. read more

This is the best hang out spot in downtown if you are looking for an awesome Happy Hour or live music. My friends and I enjoy drinks Fridays after work or when we want to go out on a Saturday but don't want to deal with a crowd in Old Town. The food is always good and the music is great! read more

I keep trying to give this place another chance and they blow it every single time. They lured me in with great comedians and live bands, but the food and the service here is just horrible. First it was packing the place so full, the waiter couldn't physically get to our table. We were unable to buy drinks at that comedy show that night. Another night, with a great live band, and again, such horrible floor organization that nobody could dance so they just left to find somewhere they could. Another night, one waitress struggled to keep up with the drink orders at our table, there just wasn't enough staff to help, that I finally had to leave without paying cause I couldn't find her to close out. Don't worry my friends later paid it and I got them back. This final time, I've had it. The comedy club fell short of filling up so in exchange the bartender tried to make extra by shorting everyone's drinks, filling them like shots (we are talking 2oz glasses of wine here folks) and when asked to rectify it, told to order more if they wanted more. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! Our receipt says our server was Violet. For it being our very first time here, it was very upsetting for multiple reasons. The vibes and music were amazing but the service on the other hand was not. We had made a reservation and were seated, the waitress took almost twenty minutes to approach us. She then took 20 minutes for drinks which she in fact got one wrong. Then every encounter with her after that we ourselves had to waive her down for ANY service! Once our appetizers where delivered we then didn't see her for another 30 minutes. Waiving her down again, As she was taking our food order she missed two people, she walked away in the middle of four of us ordering. As we asked for a new server, no one ever came to our table. Then we had to ask every server and the hostess for our check then having to be reverted back to our original server and her giving us back talk as she said "well you asked for another server"and laughing and walking away! What was very disappointing was another couple behind us was dis-satisfied with our server as well, happened to get the manager, which we first noticed he was drinking a beer, which as a manager you should not even be thinking about consuming alcohol on the clock especially when you run a bar like this. With that he was also taking the servers side and blaming us for the way she was acting, even though in the restaurant industry the customer is always right as we are guests and giving them feedback on how our service was he told us we were in the wrong even after multiple tables were very upset. I am beyond very disappointed as we had very high standards for this place and it turned out to be a nightmare. Never again. read more

I am so excited this place opened up in Desert Ridge! This new restaurant and bar is a hybrid of Copper Blues and Stand Up Live from downtown Phoenix. I've always loved going down there for the live music, awesome atmosphere, and going to their comedy shows, but now having the best of both worlds right across the street from me is even better. The layout and atmosphere is fantastic. There is a dividing wall between the comedy club portion and the bar/restaurant portion of the building. The artwork is awesome and the place is huge. They have so many big name comedians and cool shows already on their calendar this year. Once the shows let out, the dividing wall will open up to the rest of the bar and across from the comedy club stage, there's a big stage for their live bands that always play great music. Whether it's oldies or more current songs, I always enjoy them. My boyfriend and I have been to CB Live 3 weeks in a row already. Drink pricing is reasonable especially for the location we're in. Food is good, it is a different menu than the downtown location with a lot of variety. Desert Ridge definitely needed a new trendy hangout spot as there aren't many places to go around there other than some sports bars. It's a unique and new concept and definitely a great addition to this area! read more

After several months of this being built, my wife and I finally noticed it opened this past Wednesday. We dropped in for dinner at 545pm and found about 1/3 of the tables occupied. We had to wait at the hostess station for about 5 minutes before someone finally walked up to seat us. That was strike number one. Once seated, we had a waitress, who looked to be training someone, come to the table about 2-3 minutes later. We had our 5-year-old with us so we order an appetizer and put in an order to Mac N Cheese for him. We held off on our drink order until she came back as we looked over the beer menu. The general menu was surprisingly small and not very diverse. I'm fine with that if they do the couple of things well, but as you will read, we never got that far. Once we had our food and drinks decided on, we looked around for our waitress. And we looked. And we looked. We finally noticed ALL of the wait staff standing around the POS machine just to the right of the bar. They seemed to be doing something work related. It did not look like they were standing around socializing. Then we waited. And we waited. And we waited. For 15 minutes not one of the four wait staff members moved from the register or went to one table. I finally walked over and asked if they could help us. They said they would be right over. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. 35 minutes since we walked in the door, outside of the original order for my son's food, nobody had come to our table even after my request. No drink order. No food order. And my son's order still had not arrived 35 minutes later. I just advised my wife that we should leave and go elsewhere. She wanted to wait and complain to the manager. And we waited. And we waited. I finally left with my son and got the car. And waited in the car. About 15 minutes later my wife walked out. She said she couldn't get a manager to come out to talk to her. I will say this, once one did, they provided the my son's food to her (which had been cooked and was already cold) for free and was very apologetic. In a competitive location for restaurants like Desert Ridge, we probably won't give this place a second try. This is most likely growing pains with this new business, but I've learned that poorly trained staff is probably more dangerous than having bad food in the success of a place like this. read more
