Came for lunch. Its a fairly big place, with lots of seating. Ordered the "filet o fish", which I expected to be a better version of the mcdonalds sandwich. It was a bit of a let down, as I actually think the mcdonalds version tastes better. I didn't really love the sauce that they used. That said, the fish was (slightly) bigger than the mcd version. I work in an office nearby and I was honored to be treated a nice lunch by our site leader. I never knew the existence of "Copper Club" in downtown Chicago. I certainly have seen the sign about this place, but I didn't know it was located inside a corporate building. This restaurant seemed to cater patrons who wanted to grab lunch with their colleagues or conduct client meetings. My boss told us that she has been here for their Happy Hours before and she enjoyed the "Detroit Sliders" from the appetizers menu. I didn't end up getting that. However, I picked the "Argentinian steak sandwich" with chimichurri sauce and aioli. I liked they buttered the bread which rendered more flavor. Steak was delicious, yet some pieces were chewy and fell out of the sandwich immediately after I bit into it. I was a little surprised that the aioli sauce wasn't for dipping the fries; it was spread on the sandwich instead. Nevertheless, I thought my steak sandwich was well done and I had no regrets of getting it. Service was adequate and we were given a large table toward the end of restaurant for some privacy. I don't think I would come here myself since price for each entree was considered high in my opinion. Stopped in before a show on a Thursday. The space is warm & cozy. It was pretty full with several groups. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but there were some challenges with service. It took a while for our server to come over to take our drink order. We had to flag him down to order dinner and then we didn't see him again (we had to ask the host for our check). Also, our burrata came out with our entrees. The food itself was fine, my salmon had good flavor but was a little overcooked. A great late evening meal with unique Chicago charm. I started with the chicken and vegetable soup which came out at the perfect temperature to eat and then opted for the Pre Theater two course (Course 3 + Curtain Call). For the two course I picked the Steak Frites, and the Copper Club Sundae with salted caramel ice cream. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, but the sundae was very icy. I came here right before a show at the Chicago Symphony. Location-wise it is VERY convenient if you are in the theatre district and trying to grab a meal before a show. They do have a pre-theatre menu, which is honestly a great deal! The timing though was a little precarious (ie i barely made it in time for my show because food was taking too long). And the quality of food was just okay; i upgraded to the steak frites, and it was a weird / very fibrous and tough cut of meat. AMAZING! That is how I would describe the food here. My friend I came here before we saw the Lion King and did the 3 course meal for $42 a person. We got in late Friday night and decided to grab some quick take out. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The online ordering process was so simple. The food only took 15-20min. When I got there, the staff were SO nice. They all greeted me (including the bartenders) and made sure I had everything I needed. They all wished me a happy holidays and had smiles on their faces. The food was delicious and great for take out! Unfortunately we all dug in and I couldn't snag pics. The burrata was so yummy, the arugula, apples, balsamic and prosciutto tied it all together. This is inside an office building. The 2 lnd floor is office space and a sitting area for those who work here w IDs bc you can go there without access. You can only go on the escalator. It's a nice and comfortable casual place. The $16 burrata which was fresh with fig like balsamic vinaigrette had this homemade pear butter on bottom and it was so good and a sweet surprise! I wish it were on the side bc I liked spreading it on the break more easily. And it would have been nice to know where it was and once we found it it was so good! The $9 fries were crispy but not too much and and the garlic aioli sauce was good and put on the side. The butternut squash soup came in a cute bowl for $5 and was okay but I would say I would like more squash. But for $5 it was perfect as a sampler to enjoy it with the good and chewy bread, the sangria $8 during happy hour 4-6pm was amazing! No fruit inside but it felt like I had so many fruit pieces without the fruit. The flavors were so good. Just really yummy. Tucked away on the first floor of an office building at 70 West Madison Street, Copper Club features an inviting, clubby interior, including private event rooms and an expansive cocktail bar. I remember coming here when another restaurant/bar occupied this space, so it was good to return last week for a drink at the bar. It was difficult at first to get the server's attention for drink menus, but understandable as my visit was at the peak of happy hour. The cocktail menu is whiskey forward. When I visited it was half-off for "Whiskey Wednesday." I opted for the old fashioned, which was made in house. Next time, I will probably opt for a whiskey, neat, as this drink was pre-mixed. It was serviceable, just not what I was expecting. I found the ambiance to be convivial and relaxing, with a nice buzz at the bar. I am planning to revisit Copper Club for a pre-theater meal or the midday happy hour (aka liquid lunch) from 11 am - 2 pm, which is a hidden gem to come across. read more

The food is really good but nothing spectacular and certainly no delicately prepared seafood dishes etc. $35 for an Old Fashioned was simply excessive. The Onion Rings were beer battered and therefore a much lighter fare than expected. If you order the fish sandwich skip the bread and remoulade and turn it into an Irish Pub styled fish and chips. The mood is romantic and private --a bit dark, so a business dinner seemed a bit out of place. The service was exceptional! read more

The bar area was full. The chairs were all comfy and combo of booths and oversized reading chairs. The sangria was on happy hour and was good. I believe it's $8 on happy hour. I got the steak frites which was cooked perfectly medium I wish the fries would have been thinner and more crispy but the garlic aioli was great. While the atmosphere and the food were reasonable, sadly our service was not. I don't know if I would return based on the service on this given day and instance. It may have been a situation of the server being overwhelmed (understaffed) although that was never verbalized to us. The challenges we faced were: 1. Server appeared to forget about us after bringing us water. Thankfully, someone else noticed we had been seated for some time with menus and were ready to order. 2. Server brought us the wrong bill at the end of the evening. 3. Server forgot to bring us a soda water we ordered at the start. It was on the "2nd" fixed bill. Parking is available at the bottom level - highly recommend SpotHero over searching for street parking. There's a private room at the back of the restaurant for more intimate meetings. I had the smoked salmon toast - amazing! I wish I'd gotten photos. My friend for the apple salad and salmon. The salmon didn't come with any sides, which he doesn't mind. I can't remember what the soup of the day was on a Friday in February, but it was so-so. It was served in a very cute, miniature pot for one. Also worth mentioning: the bathroom is really cute. I dont think we realized they had a mid day happy hour which was a nice treat to find. I am a huge child at heart so when I see a good grilled cheese on the menu I always have to get it and boy am I happy I saw it because it fed in to all my big kid needs! Tried this place for the first time yesterday for a business lunch. The restaurant has a nice set up with a variety of seating, some of which stretches out into the lobby of the building, which is nice for a different open airy feel. I had the apple salad with chicken which the waitress recommended as a crowd favorite. It was just ok, the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, and the dried fruit on the salad was a bit excessive. It was a decent salad but could've been better. I'm a fan of comfy booth seating and comfy table seating and this place has both, so that is a plus. read more

Dined here prior to a show since it's walking distance from the Lyric and Theater District in general. The service was fine but the food was just okay. I ordered the steak frites along with a couple of drinks. I didn't care for the steak, it was a bit fatty for my taste and it was on the bland side. Generally I'm used to having my frites served alongside the steak to absorb the flavour but instead they were placed in a bowl beside the meat and were very bland. As for the drinks I ordered two and the mixology wasn't robust or memorable. The place is decorated nicely and the chairs we sat in were comfortable and spacious. I will return, just not for the steak frites :/ and probably opt for a glass of Vino next time. read more

Friends met and went for a birthday lunch today. Service was great from being timely seated, order taken, food arrival and making sure drinks were full. I ordered the Break from Work, which was well-balanced and refreshing. The seasonal soup tasted homemade yet with nice touches of crumbled cheese and chili oil. The Avocado Toast and Wedge Salad, while classics, were made with interesting additions that put them over the top. The atmosphere was modern, warm and inviting.
