    peach dessert

Great ambiance. Takes reservations and was able to accommodate when we called to move it up by 30mins. Almost too cozy of a table set up though.. my 6ft+ husband was a little cramped in the corner booth table. Mushrooms were great but a tad too much garnish for my liking. Potatoes and cheese dishes were also very yummy as were the oysters. Husband's cocktails were good - I just wish they had a Riesling or Sauv Blanc option for a glass rather than just purchasing the whole bottle. Peach dessert was interesting.. think it would have been 10x better if served warm. Doughnuts were awesome. Clean bathrooms. Overall good date night spot or happy hour meet up with friends, but wouldn't run back for a dinner reservation.

The atmosphere is amazing--perfect for a date. My bf and I each had two cocktails, and our server was incredibly friendly. He recommended cocktails for us, and they were absolutely delicious. I feel bad that I can't remember the server's name, but I'm truly grateful--he was the best. We also ordered a pasta to share, and it was so good. Honestly, this is the kind of place I'd want to come to at least once a week. I'm usually pretty picky, but I was fully satisfied with the atmosphere, the food, and the service. Highly recommended. And I described the kind of flavors I usually like, and even though there wasn't anything exactly like that on the menu, the server went out of his way to talk to the bartender and have a custom cocktail made just for me. It was incredibly thoughtful, and I absolutely loved what they made. I'm so, so grateful for that level of care. Thank you so much!!

Cocktails on point Bartender Jay was superb. We went in for one cocktail, the Heirloom 24. We ended up staying and ordering three cocktails, all 10/10. Halloween decor well balanced. Will return.

The small bites were great, especially enjoyed the pork belly & charred vegetables. Delicious cocktails & our server was nice & friendly. Must try when in Salt Lake City.

We ended up here while waiting for our table at Copper Onion. Originally we came for cocktails, but ended up getting some food too. The bar area was pretty packed, but four of us squished in to a little rail along the window and a little seating area around a pillar near eachother. I had an old fashioned which was good as did two of my friends and the other had a martini. I was trying to save my appetite for dinner, so I just had a couple bites of two of the dishes. We had the Burrata plate which was Burrata with roasted squash, a Moroccan chermoulah sauce, and a dukkah topping. The creaminess of the Burrata with the crunch of the dukkah was interesting. We also had the polenta cakes which was 4 cakes served with a whipped ricotta and a piquillo pepper sauce. The polenta was good as well the outside crisp and golden brown. There was also a shaved veggie salad. Definitely a more dark and brooding hipster vibe than their sister restaurant nextdoor. Would definitely return for a drink or a snack.

One of my favorite downtown slc spots. The menu has great food, a range of cocktails and natural & orange wines. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, while also being lively and energetic. It's a relatively small space with a bar so it fills with people and energy quickly, but you can easily hear the conversation at your table. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Where you want to be somewhere fun and slightly elevated. The focaccia and salmon crudo were delicious. Others in my group loved their burgers. I had the mushroom miso pasta was was delicious, a great texture, but a little heavy/rich and surprisingly filling. If I could add one thing to the menu it would be one more non-red-meat larger plate and my only complaint is that I wish they would use different glasses for the wine! I understand wanting something with a character and a more rustic feel but I think the short little bar glasses take away from enjoying the wine.

Braised Pork Sandwich w/ smashed potatoes

Great little bar, to stop in for a drink, appetizer or light meal. The esthetics and vibe of Copper Common is similar to what you find in many larger cities, the likes of NYC and Chicago. This is a well needed establishment in SLC. With a great music selection, dimmed lighting and higher end decor... it makes for a great date night or place to entertain guest. We tried their CC Burger and Braised Pork Sandwich. The burger is truly underwhelming to look at, but the flavor and freshness is fantastic and leaves you satisfied and happy with the selection you made. The braised pork was a little dry, but was really tasty. The smashed potatoes that came with both plates are really good and complement the meals perfectly. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back.

I love this place. It is small and quite cozy with muted lighting and nice jazz background music. We arrived right when they opened and were able to have the place to ourselves for a bit. The service was attentive and kind. My husband ordered the braised pork sandwich and I had their signature burger. They were both excellent. I played mocktail roulette and the bartender made me a yummy cocktail. I ordered the winter sundae which had vanilla soft serve, brown sugar oat crumble and chai spiced pear jam because I am a sucker for anything chai and it was so good.

Best old fashioned I've had! This is a really nice late night bite/cocktail place and has a super cozy interior. The bar is super sophisticated looking and it really makes you feel like you've gone back in time to a prohibition era speakeasy/cocktail bar. I'd definitely recommend this place for date-night cocktails. Can't speak on the food, but looking forward to trying something next time.

Originally, my friends and I tried to walk in for dinner at the Copper Onion (5 p.m. on a Friday) but it was too packed! The host suggested we try their sister restaurant, Copper Common. We were greeted warmly and seated at a pub-height table facing the window. Our server was really fantastic and knew a lot about the specials of the day, and even the varietal of grapes on the featured wine (and how they were grown at a 400 year old vineyard!) We ordered the burger, lamb meatballs, miso mushroom pasta and a side salad. The pasta was definitely the standout of the bunch. The salad was forgotten and arrived later, but was taken off the bill. I'd still like to try Copper Onion on my next trip!

We came here on a whim and absolutely loved it. I'm always looking for a place to go with my friends where we can hangout and eat good food. It was a great ambiance and the servers were so nice and helpful. I think the menu changes often and they have daily specials so it's a cool place to stop in. We ended up sharing a lot of dishes and it was great because we tried many things. My only pushback is that some of it can be a little salty. I would go back tho and just be cognizant of what I'm getting.

Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. If the service can reach the same level as the food, this restaurant would easily deserve five stars.

However, additional details create a loving connection - it's off-Broadway central location, the copper-paneled ceiling that mimics warm conversations in varied spaces (cocktail, chef's counter, expandable tables for groups, and outdoor), fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with service to match. It's the place where I had my first glass of Turley Zinfandel (education alongside), and the place I will always return for my favorite Wagyu Beef Stroganoff (a comfort from home, but upscale). This one delivered with large, firm, expertly seasoned portobello & forest mushrooms over wide, freshly handmade pappardelle pasta that soaks up rich beef stock (a touch of black pepper) blended with crème fraîche. A generous portion of wagyu is tender and rich. PRO TIP: Mix then let it sit & marinade a minute - flavor pays in dividends. For dessert, a Valhrona Chocolate Pudding topped with whip cream and Maldon flake salt - exquisite, but expensive. The texture is comforting and delicious - olive oil adds a lingering finish with slight fruit.

I informed her that we had a reservation under my name, John, but she simply looked at her list, seemed annoyed, and told us to wait anyway. While we were waiting, we watched several parties of two arrive after us with reservations at 8:10, 8:15, and even 8:20, and they were seated before us. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went back to ask how much longer it would be. I was told it would be another 20 minutes. I reminded Carleigh that we had a reservation, and her response was, "Oh, you did?" She then asked for my full name and phone number, looked up the reservation, apologized, and immediately escorted us to a table that appeared to have been ready the entire time. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Reservations are made so guests don't have to wait behind people who arrive later. It felt like our reservation had been completely ignored until I spoke up a second time. Whether this was poor organization or a lack of attention, the level of service at the front desk was unacceptable. We came looking forward to a nice family dinner, but the experience started with unnecessary frustration and left a very poor first impression. I sincerely hope additional training is provided so this doesn't happen to other guests.

Honestly the cheese course was not my favorite. It was good cheese, but I didn't think the greens paired well with it so it really was just cheese, which I found a little disappointing. However the entrees more than made up for it. The pasta especially was absolutely delicious, the braised beef cheek was cooked so perfectly it melted in my mouth. Not to mention I ended up breaking out in hives at the start of the meal (unrelated to the food) and the staff was so kind. They quickly boxed our food and even brought me some Claritin to help tide me over. The food was piping hot when they boxed it and traveled beautifully, which was a bonus for sure. For brunch, my husband had the burger with a fried egg and I had their special of the day: chilaquiles. This might have been the best chilaquiles I've had in the valley. The pork was delicious, the poached egg was actually perfect, and the chips still kept their crunch which is usually my biggest gripe. I didn't try the burger, but my husband was raving about it.
