We tried the jalapeño cheddar sausage that was delicious and you have to try their mac and cheese- it is probably my favorite restaurant mac and cheese. Copper Hill BBQ is a great choice for BBQ in SCV. I placed an order online for the following: ribs, brisket, tri-tip, mac and cheese, beans, coleslaw and their Texas toast. The standouts were the ribs, beans and brisket! Plenty of meat on the ribs and great portions. Their baked beans are seriously delicious and I highly recommend them. The brisket also had some great flavors and cooked perfectly. Their BBQ sauce is awesome. The Mac and cheese wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order again. I do love that they use cavatappi noodles for it, though. The coleslaw and Texas toast were also good, not great. I appreciated that my order was ready on time and packaged carefully. I love bbq. I've eaten in Austin, Nashville, DC, Atlanta, LA. I saw on Instagram that this place was voted the best bbq in santa clarita. Granted this is the 2nd placeI've had bbq in santa clarita and being a new resident, I assumed that because the town has more of an all American country flair. The service is pretty good given that it seems to be manned by either kids in high school or from COC. They're polite and don't have this attitude like you'd see in LA where they would rather be at an audition than working food service. Also I have low expectations of kids under 20 in the service industry that I was pleasantly surprised. If was judging in ambiance and service alone I'd give it 4 stars. Sadly the meat of the matter was beyond disappointing. I had the 3 meats combo with ribs brisket and sausage. The sausage was pretty good, but I was looking forward to the brisket and the spare ribs which tasted overcooked, mushy, and tasteless. Was it smoked or boiled, I wouldn't know because I couldn't smell nor taste the smoke. This is Friday in the early evening so the expectations would be that everything should have tasted amazing. You're better off going to the smokehouse on main in newhall. Yes the service there is slower as is most sit down service restaurants, but I eat out for the food. Service is just icing on the cake. First of all, make sure that you come here with an appetite or be ready to share. I ordered the half-slab spare ribs and it was huge. It certainly looked like the full-slab. I ordered it with a side of mac and cheese and the portion for that was big also. It also comes with a Texas toast. All I can say is that the food was delicious. The ribs were juicy and tender. I saved the second quarter of ribs, mac and cheese and toast, so I will have food for tomorrow. I placed a to-go order but the staff were friendly and greeted me right away and my food was ready when I expected it to be. I didn't get a chance to look around the place but it looked really nice. Having come here three times now, it behooves me to review this place properly. Everything here has the right texture and flavor. This place has saved me from eating poorly on business trips with their boneless chicken breast. The adjective that comes to mind is "smooth" not stringy. I usually would agree that chicken breast is a reluctant choice of meat for those with severe dietary restrictions or insanity when brisket is also available, but this is actually a contender for me here and only here. While I do not give stars for service, it was the service that made this review an imperative. After apologizing twice for the delay in their new mac and cheese side, they decided to give me a massive portion in a to-go container. They obviously made this batch fresh for me. We had never been here before and thought it was a restaurant like Wood Ranch BBQ, Rattler's, or Bear Pit BBQ. It wasn't at all what we thought. At first glance I thought it might be a drive thru place. It wasn't so we parked and went in. It's a small, maybe 8 tables inside and a few outside. We also met Lori the owner and we then realized why this establishment had such a great vibe. My wife ordered the Tri-Tip and I ordered the Brisket. Brand new BBQ place. The food was delicious and the server was helpful and answered all our questions since this is the first visit but not the last to Cooper Hill. The only down side is not enough places to eat. The dining area is very small. They do have a few tables outside but depending on weather conditions could be a problem. I ordered the brisket sandwich, side of baked beans and another side of street corn salad. My wife ordered the BBQ salad. The meat in my sandwich was tender and had good flavor. It was on ciabatta bread, which I liked instead of the big ol' french roll one usually gets in a BBQ place. It was just the right amount of bread for the sandwich. The baked beans had onions and peppers in the mix and were quite good. I also enjoyed their corn salad, it was refreshing and good tasting. My wife liked her salad as well. Portions were generous. It's also nice that they have a big squeeze bottle of BBQ sauce at the table. They have both inside and outside seating. Heaters are provided outside and, even though it was a chilly day, we were quite comfortable. We were checked on often to make sure we liked the food and to ask if we needed anything. Copper Hill BBQ is fantastic! My husband and I especially love getting their bowls and salads for lunches. Their brisket is always tender and juicy, we love the Mac n' Cheese, I think they make their own delicious garlicky Caesar dressing, and the staff rocks! This past weekend, I ordered a family meal for a last minute party with my in laws, and it was ready within a half an hour. It wasn't until I opened all the bags, that I realized we were missing our tri-tip. Not a huge worry as the portions we did get were ginormous and we had more than enough food for our party of 7.
