Never Ever Go Here. Go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. The Manager or Owner Jay does not care about making the customer happy at all. I ordered 2000 Postcards to be printed for my business. Jay advised me that if I ordered a small postcard where he can get 4 from one sheet of paper it would be a better price. He said it would be a good quality card stock and cut. Since he is the "Professional" at this i went with his suggestion and paid $495 for 2000 pieces. 5 major problems came from this 1. The card stock was cheap and you can see the printing from the other side. 2. The cards are not cut straight. Imagine a postcard that has the slant of Gumbys head. 3. Its not readable. Because of his suggestion on the card size all the text is too small and you need glasses to read it. When his sample was printed as the "professional" he should have immediately contacted me and let me know that it was an unacceptable size and we could have changed the order to a larger card. 4. Print Quality is poor. This looks like I printed and cut these my self at home. The reason I went to a copy place is because I wanted a good looking professional postcard to represent me business. Instead I received something that looks like a 12 year old printed at home. 5. I called Jay to try and work it out. The best he offered me was to reprint the entire order again with a larger size post card FOR AND ADDITIONAL $600.00!!!! I am not trying to get over on anyone and I do not expect this for free. However i should not have to pay MORE to fix HIS GARBAGE. He should reprint half of my order and fix the quality issues and I should only have to pay a very for the cost of the new POSTCARD PAPER, NOT AND ADDITIONAL $600.00 Bottom line here is do not Trust Jay or CopyPacific In Hayward. On Saturday 7/20/24. My wife and I went to Copy Pacific for Notary. As soon as we entered the business we were told by the associate in a loud voice. I can't help you right now for Notary I have a printing job for a deceased child. This was from Ray the owner and manager . Keep in mind we have not spoken to Ray. I have to finish this job. Poor Welcome In Greeting and no Eye Contact . Once we started to talk about why we were there and we wanted to talk. Then Ray switched to I have the right to refuse you as a customer. At this point. My wife could not believe that we went to a notary business to get 2 pages notarized that cost $15 per signature and was yelled at and talked down to at the same time disrespected as customers by the freaking owner and Manager Ray. I come in to print scan and fax 20 pages of a document that I do want someone that usually cost me about $14-$15 across the street well today I go into this place and was charge $40 for the service which is absolutely ridiculous. When asked for an itemized explanation as to what I was being charged the owner who is extremely rude very obnoxious has terrible Customer service replied very rudely explaining why he charged me so much. 20 page document $40? Great customer service and great price. I brought a design to Copy Pacific and they printed these funeral brochures for me. They came out so beautiful. The colors were perfect, warm and bright. I had it cut down to a 5x7, so the cuts were clean and straight. And it was also scored in the center for easier folding. Thank you Jay for you help with this. I have had to go, VERY reluctantly, into this place of business a few times when there was no other choice. The owner of this establishment is very rude, and has an immediate structure towards you for no reason. He wants to charge you for every ridiculous thing, that no other copy centers would charge for. I don't know if it's the fact that I am a woman, or if this is just the pedantic attitude he takes with everyone.. but he definitely "talks DOWN" to you .. and I am left to think "there is NO WAY I will ever return here." After the last horrible experience with this man, I can truly say I MEAN it this time. I gave the man a chance, thinking maybe previously he'd just had a bad day.. nope. I'm a person who wakes up and gets through the day with no caffeine whatsoever. I'm naturally energetic and this helps me stay on top of things. Today, however, was a different story. I woke up tired and groggy, mismanaged my time, and was late to my first meeting of the day. After my first meeting, I ran into a problem. I forgot to make copies of an important paper earlier in the day. This meant I had fifteen minutes to find a copy center, make 100 set of copies, and drive back in time for my second meeting. How the hell was I going to do this? I drove like a maniac trying to find the closest copy center. If you had seen me, you would've thought I was running from the police. I parked the car in the back parking lot, raced into the Copy Pacific, out of breath I said to the man behind the counter, "I need 100 sets of copies stapled very, very fast!!!" Did you know what he did next? That man RAN to the copy machine, popped that sucker in, and had it spitting out 100 sets of copies in no time. I mean he literally ran like his life was dependent on it. Never had I seen such service like this before. Before I left, he told me to drive safely. Boy was he reading my mind because I was planning on making my way back "fast and furious" style. Copy Pacific is a big, clean, and organized center with great customer service. The price is okay. Full service for 100 copies is around 6.5 cents each. If you show your student ID card, you get 10 percent off. This place can do a lot of things - they are not the most modern but offer a lot of services. I was happy to know that they could print color transparencies - yes very random but they had the printer and the paper. The help was okay. What made me remove 2 stars is I was told the computer time "starts at $1.00" ALL I had to do was print a file off a thumb drive...anyways it ended up being a couple bucks extra then I thought because of the computer time I felt kind of duped...Especially because all i needed the computer for was to access the file... Its not possible leaving no stars. Jay the owner. Is a piece of work. I came into get copies of a downloaded logo. I was told by Jay that "quote " would be given before its made.. That the design would be an extra cost depending on how much time it took and additionally the type of paper. I agreed based on if they could do what I desired. I sat with An, the graphic Artist. We worked out several designs that took all of 5 min. She called Jay over to get a quote not understanding what An and I discussed he interject what he think is best. The quote was for $25.00 for a 1 11x17 sheet with 5 labels. I needed 4 sheets of the same design. I said let me think about it. He charged me for the time spent and the possibility of returning. I went across the street to CopyMat got 3 sheets of the same order for $13.00. He doesn't ever have to worry about my business ever again. read more

Someone provided me with a file of a funeral program that they had taken to another graphic designer. They were not pleased with the outcome so they sent the file to me. My regular printer was on vacation so I decided to take the job to Copy Pacific to get a quote on the job. My first question was did they have the ability to print bleeds. Assuming that I knew nothing about the process, Jay, the manager/owner decided to school me. I tried to tell him that my usual printer who was on vacation and who I've done business with for over 20 years, had educated me to the process on the printing press and modern copy machines. However, Jay basically told me to be quiet and listen, so I did. When he printed the job out, he proceeded to tell me how horrible it looked (which is why I wanted a copy printed out) and what I needed to do graphically to make it look better. I then had had enough and told him that I knew what to do. He said, fine, he would not say another word and I thanked him. He then charged me $3.00 for the sample and I picked up the vibe that he didn't want my business. I took the sample home and improved the design. I then went to Office Depot where a very nice young man printed the job for me on a very nice grade of paper at a reasonable price after providing me with one free sample. I'm just grateful that Copy Pacific is not the only print shop in town. read more

To summarize my bad experience: The colors were faded and the job was printed on the wrong type of paper. They redid the job after much haggling, but when they redid it, the edges of the paper were frayed. Every single copy had jagged edges. I do not recommend this place at all. Ever. I would recommend taking your business next door to CopyMat instead. - - - - If you'd like more details: I needed flyers done the next day - 250 flyers on nice paper. On the phone while ordering my 250 flyers, I explained I wanted paper that was nicer than normal, but not card stock. I don't know what the types of paper are, but I specified that I did not want card stock. I arrived to their downtown Hayward office to pick up the flyers. I asked him to open it because the package felt heavy. To my distress, the flyers were printed in card stock. I explained to the Manager, Jay, who was ringing me up, that I had asked the sales person to NOT print in card stock, that I wanted something "nicer than normal" but "not card stock." He explained to me that this was what I ordered. He even showed me the notes that his sales person had written. It said "80lb card stock." I then explained to him that I didn't know what 80lbs meant, so those were not directions given by me. We looked at my email that I had sent, and it was written there, too. "Nicer than normal paper. Not card stock." Jay, the manager, yelled across the room at his sales person. The sales person yelled back that this was the paper I had wanted. Jay told him that I had specifically said that I didn't want card stock. This went back and forth for a while until they spoke privately. As this was going on, I looked at my finished flyers and realized that not only was the job done on the wrong paper, but that the colors were faded. The whites looked pink, the blues looked gray. It was a terrible print job - it looked like it had been done at grandma's old fashioned printer that had run out of ink. I called out to Jay and pointed this out to him. After taking a look, he told me that ink sometimes ink prints differently when it is done on certain types of paper. I pointed out that the colors were faded and that this was definitely an ink problem, not a paper problem. After a few minutes, he finally agreed that it was not good quality color printing, and agreed to print me 50 copies on the correct glossy paper, while giving me $75 credit (the job in total cost me $165). Even though I was very unhappy with this, I knew that my event was in just a few hours, so I had to agree. He sensed my dissatisfaction and then offered to re-do the whole thing on the correct paper. No charge. I came back later to pick up the paper, and the colors looked great. I went back to my office and opened the package from its plastic sheet, and realized that the pages were all torn and frayed. I emailed him with a complaint and photos of the flyers, but this was all he said: "Hi Michelle, Sorry we have been busy. Regarding your project first time I agreed with you 100 percent for colors not being right.I stood by with you. I redo the project for you on glossy stock right away at your sample approvel. I have no idea what shades you are pointing out. Perhaps It is in your file built in. Sorry at this point I am not able to do a refund or do the job over. .We will be very careful next time. Copy Pacific has horrible customer service. The owner of this store takes advantage of college students by refusing to accept returns with receipts. My suggestion is to never go here. If I could give this place negative five stars, I would. I purchased "The Reader" for Statistics 3010 at Cal State Eastbay. "The Reader" is bundle of copied papers containing course material that cost $65. The owner of Copy Pacific came to the class and sold "The Reader" to us. When I asked the owner of Copy Pacific if he was giving us receipts he didn't answer me. I even asked him twice, and still no answer. He was very rude in person. In the end, he ended up providing receipts. The slogan on top of the receipt is "Where Customer Satisfaction is our #1 Priority" I didn't end up taking the class, so I went to Copy Pacific on B street to return "The Reader". The owner of the store was very rude to me when I told him how disappointed I was that he would accept returns. I even pointed out the slogan to him. Then he had the nerve to tell me that he has not accepted returns in twenty years and that he wouldn't start with me. This man is liar and a thief. The owner doens't stand by his slogan: "Where Customer Satisfaction is our #1 Priority" The owner doesn't care about customer satisfaction, other wise I would have received $65 from the return. In fact, I speculate the only reason that he has been able to stay in business for the last twenty years is because he has been expointing college students. I felt like he stole my money and took advantage of the fact that I am in school. My suggestion to you is that if Copy Pacific ever shows up in your classroom to sell you a bunch of copied course material, you should make a photocopy from some poor sucker that had the unfortunate experience of giving Copy Pacific business. You should offer another individual money to copy their packet instead of giving Copy Pacific any more money. NEVER TO TO COPY PACIFIC. They provide horrible customer service. The service here is absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculous, in the most negative way possible. I came to Copy Pacific expecting to have my copies ready to be picked up and paid for. It was not ready. Why? Because I did not pay for the printing services prior. Okay, why is this owner so skeptical of people paying prior? I did not get my printing done therefore I won't pay for it until it's done. It's like going to a restaurant. You aren't going to pay until you get your food and finish eating. Same damn concept. Plus, I did not have the flyers in my possession so how can I possibly steal from this place? On top of that, he tried overcharging me when I asked for a quote prior to coming in. Ripped off by the owner when I went here for notary services a few months back. After I realized he was overcharging and pointed it out he argued with me. Ended up paying him $60 after much aggravation because I needed to get my documents back. Found out later that the nearby UPS Store provides the same services for about $20 and with pleasant customer service, so I go there from now on whenever I need to get something notarized. I don't generally give such low ratings, and maybe if I had been helped by someone else I would have had a better experience here, but because I was ripped off by the unpleasant owner I give it one star. My relationship with copy shops has always been a tumultuous one. I hate the way they slip in service charges without ever notifying the customer until they ring up the costs. If you go to any professional graphic print shop they tell you up front what the total cost will be. Copy Pacific is like any other copy place. The only difference is that they try to help you as long as you ask. I wish they would approach you with a friendly question instead of assuming you know which computer and printer does what. I came in to scan my resume. I was told that " if you like we can scan it for you so that it can be done fast because if you do it it may take a long time"... Hmmmm really? When I asked How much is the charge I was told it was $5+!!!! First off I know how to use a scanner but thanks for assuming and secondly that is a ridiculous fee.
