He even told me exactly what to ask the dealership for and said that if I didn't feel comfortable doing the touch-up myself, I could just bring it back and he would help me with it. They nickel and dime the insurance company. Replaced a tire that had a "bulge" in it. From damage of a small deer that dented the fender. The work was very good, but not enough to cost the $950 I had to spend on the extra weeks they had the car. So in all, waving half the $1,000 deductible and paying the extra $950 for the rental. One of the other 12 painters was a one-person shop named Wendall's Autobody and Paint in my town, who said, "he was busy but that I should call him back in a few weeks." Needless to say, I was frustrated, but one day, while traveling around town, I called Wendall and asked if I could bring the car by for him to look. My wife and I went by his ranch property with goats and chickens in the yard and an oversized work garage, and an hour later, I had hired a painter. We thought it would take him at least 2 months the paint the car, but he had it finished in 5 weeks. He gave me an unbelievable price, and I gave him a well-deserved bonus for exceeding my expectations. My wife and I also had a great time chatting with Wendall at his rustic shop, where he does incredible work. I highly recommend him as a standup painter and person.
