Came across this place through yelp because I was looking for a place to eat lunch. From the pictures, it looked delicious. I got the tuna poke bowl and was also able to try the Thai chicken and rice noodle. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I did think the tuna poke bowl was a little salty though. I also purchased a drink and tried all the drinks. Beet lemonade was my favorite. The cranberry cayenne lemonade was surprisingly good too. I would definitely come again to have lunch. read more

What a disappointment. I went late one weekday afternoon with my daughter hoping for a tasty, healthy lunch. We hadn't been to Core Life in a while, but we both remembered it as a fun place to find fresh, delicious food. I ordered a Mediterranean Salad. The felafel balls were tasteless and small. The amount of tomatoes, cukes, etc. was skimpy. The hummus was also fairly tasteless as were the roasted vegetables. I LOVE hummus and felafel! This was a pathetic version. My daughter had a steak bowl of some kind and after she ate the beef, she left the rest untouched. She has worked in foodservice and commented to me how absolutely bored all the young staff behind the counter seemed. Not one smile. She was asked while ordering if she wanted jalapenos and said no. The server then started to put jalapenos on her salad. She saw and alerted him. He seemed not to care in any way. The only positive note was that the lemonades were delicious! I settled on Mediterranean salad (no kale though) with feta, tomato, cucumber falafel and feta. Good size bowl cost 10.95. Came with half slice bread. It was really filling and fresh and flavorful albeit really garlicky. Plentiful selection of juices to chose from that were unique and flavorful . 2 salads and 2 drinks cost $ 24 Atmosphere is trendy, open, self Serve. This was our first time at Core Life, and it was really great! They have a wide variety of salads, broth bowls, and similar items. Everything is super fresh; no wilted salad here!! You can customize it to exactly what you like, as they make it while you watch. I had the chicken and rice noodle broth bowl. Man oh man was it delicious! Filled with rice noodles, tastily seasoned chicken, carrots, celery, and kale, this was bursting with flavor! I would definitely recommend it! My husband had the tuna poke, and really enjoyed it as well. My favorite by far was the fresh drinks! The first we had was a green tea/ beet mix, and the second was green tea and apple cider. It is worth the trip just for those! I'm not typically a green tea fan, but the drinks were so fresh and delicious! The meal to the drinks, everything was fresh, healthy, and delicious! Came here with my family after hearing a lot of buzz about this place. Basically you pick if you want a salad, soup, or grain bowl and then go down the line picking your ingredients. Everything is very fresh and the bowls tasted great. The menu can be over whelming, we picked prepared bowls from the menu but unfortunately we didn't find anywhere on the boards that says what goes into them so some of us had ingredients we wouldn't have normally chosen (my brothers had jalapenos in it, and his soup was too spicy for him). I recommend looking at the menu ahead of time so you come in knowing what you want, but with the freshness and great taste of everything I will definitely be back. Also, the price is pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. read more

If you order anything else be warned that they go extremely light on the protein. If you go in really hungry, you will likely come out hungry. Their soups look good on paper, but their broth is so bland. Except the last time when I ordered the spicy ginger beef. The girl behind the counter couldn't figure out how to grate the ginger and I guess compensated by putting so much sriracha in that my stomach was wrecked for days. Customer service is an all time low. Arrived 15 min before they close and the "manager" said we close soon so you have to order now. I said I was waiting for my friend thinking we could share some "takeout"; the manager didn't understand protocol so finally after letting a person go in front of me, I said I will have the Tuna Poke Bowl which I thought would be easy; the "manager" said "we don't have any tuna" (then why have it on the Board?). Since their open over a year ago I do have to admit, I have my favorites but today I felt adventures and the cold weather helped to get me to try one of the bone broth bowls. I tried the Chicken Rice Noodle Bowl. First a handful of kale next celery carrots put into a steamer. Than a health scoops of chicken bone broth. I asked for some herbs on top. Choices basil cilantro scallions or parsley. I had the first three. I would have liked a bit more next time didn't wa,t to ruin the flavor my first try. I enjoyed my warm dish with a glass of fresh lemonade with honey and ginger(no sugar)and I added a splash of beet lemonade too. I wasn't offered a piece of bread today but that's ok carbs my bane of exsistance. Very warming fresh flavors I'm ready to go out in this wet chilli day, now that my insides are warmed up. First time trying this place, the great thing about it was that the soups were very fresh! I had the Coconut Curry Chicken Soup and I definitely tasted the veggies within, however they did not add the chicken to the soup as shown on the menu. The lemonade was refreshing as well and had a nice tang, and I enjoyed the fact that they had a variety of lemonade flavors, including honey. I sampled the broccoli and cheddar and the ingredients all taste like they have been made from scratch. I mainly get take-out here, as I can hit it up on the way out of BJ's before I head home to try to figure out where to stuff 72 rolls of paper towels. Once, my order was missing, and an agitated staff member informed me someone else had taken it. They then made me a new one, and literally threw in on the take-out counter with no name on the bag. Their food is delicious and they are very generous with the portions. After having a meal there, I always feel great - full of energy with no food lethargy. Ever since they opened I heard that it was very fresh and wanted to give them a try. So today I went to try it out. When you walk in it is very modern fast food restaurant. When you order, you can choose from all different types of vegetables and broth. I chose the chicken noodle soup and beef noodle soup. The first taste had NO taste at all. They claimed it was "chicken broth" or "beef broth" but there was no flavor! No salt, no nothing!! It just tasted like water with a little chicken powder base. The soup was also cold! The vegetables weren't even cooked at all, that's why people claim it's fresh because it not even cooked. Most restaurants that sell noodle soups have hot soups and cooked through vegetables. Obviously when you eat noodle soups you expect it to be hot, their broth wasn't even warm. Since, the broth had no flavor I had to use so much Siracha to have a little flavor so I would be able to at least eat at least a little flavor since I already paid. Each bowl was about $10, for low quality, not cooked through vegetables, no flavor, not worth my money! I wouldn't recommend and I would never go back. read more

I really like this place. This is my first time and I got a Mediterranean salad with chicken. The salad was fresh, the chicken was well cooked and the dressing was delicious. Pros: The menu and concept are pretty straightforward. Pick a pre-designed meal or create your own. Their meal building process seems very efficient. The food tastes super fresh. There's no judgment for choosing vegetarian or vegan options. The fresh juices are diverse and fun to try. They make it easy to clean up after yourself (which I always do anyway but I can imagine that some people just leave all their stuff on the table and walk out). The trash area has distinct places to put your dishes, trays & silverware. It makes the area look more organized and it's probably much easier for the staff to clear away. Cons: Meals can get a little pricey when you start adding extra ingredients (and they can't keep me from my avocado!) The line exacerbates claustrophobia. With a wall on one side and life-sized menu ads on the other, it feels a bit tight while you're shuffling forward. One thing I'll mention from this particular visit is that while I was clearing my table, I noticed that a staff member was using Windex on the glass partition wall (you know the one between the customers and the food). She was spraying it pretty aggressively and I noticed a lot of overspray landing on the food on the other side... Uh gross. She started on the cash register end and was working towards the ordering end. A customer was in line and made it to the middle at the same time as the Windex girl. Instead of putting the bottle down, the girl shouted "EXCUSE ME" and made the customer back away from the glass and out of her way so she could spray the Windex in front of her. The customer at the order end saw it and looked surprised and disgusted. I didn't see the moved customer's expression since her back was to me. It's basic customer service etiquette though- you don't make your customers move in the middle of their ordering process so you can clean the glass. It may have been nothing to the staff member who thought she was being efficient by cleaning the glass, but watching the way she did it kind of ruined the experience. read more

Love Core Life, but the location on Transit in Clarence seems to have better service than the one on Niagara Falls Blvd. Food excellent both locations. I have been going back again and again. Wish there was a loyalty program! My favorite is the poke bowl, double protein. It is easy to swap out components in the dish, so don't worry if there is is something you don't like. read more

The first time I went here I wasn't impressed and wasn't intending to ever go back. I had the southwest grilled chicken and wild rice blend salad. It just wasn't anything special. I then went and got the ranch flank steak rice bowl when it first came out. They were offering the rice bowls for $6, so I figured I give it another try. I loved it. I thought it was so good, but a little overpriced if you bought at the regular price. They put the broth on the side the first time. The other two times I tried this they mixed it in, which I think is a mistake because it dilutes the dressing, which is delicious, so it wasn't nearly as good. Not sure I'll go back. read more

This place is the definition of fresh fast food. Displaying all their veggies and fresh food. It's absolutely refreshing. Today I decided to go for dinner. I had a spicy steak bowl with ancient grains. I am a fan of spice and this dish did it justice. Just enough heat to make me want more. The steak had pink in it which made it tender and it was also seasoned well. The lime jalapeno dressing mixed with siracha made a great spice with a bang at the end. All this pilled high with broccoli crowns, beets, kale and grains. It made for a five star review. One small non food related note. Love this small chain! First tried it in Syracuse and so excited to have one in Buffalo. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu and have a large variety of customization for every entree. I recommend the broccoli-cheddar soup- it is cauliflower purée so you feel a little less guilty indulging! My favorite "healthy" fast food. Can be eaten in restaurant, or take out. They have a menu to choose from, but you can also create your own if you have picky eaters with you.
