I wish I worked on Buckley Road so I could #eatatcore everyday for lunch. That's how much I'm into this place. The vibe is very similar to a Chipotle. Walk up and order menu is on the wall. Furniture has a cold modern feel. The food blew me away. I was nervous about what to order because it's surely something different. I ended up ordering the Thai Chicken Rice Noodle grain bowl. My other half ordered the southwest grain bowl (would've ordered a bone broth bowl but it was a warm day out) Both looked amazing. Ingredients were very colorful, looked freshly made and cut. The order line and kitchen seemed sparkly clean. Staff was friendly. Offered drinks we of course couldn't turn down the amazing looking wall of house lemonades. I did sneak a try of a couple different flavors and they are unique (which I love) but can be an acquired taste. We have made Core a consistent part of our week. But, it is still hit or miss. Broccoli and cheddar soup-always on point. It's filling and satisfying. It's sharper than I thought it would be, but it is still amazing. They out three scoops into a bowl which is plenty for anyone. Mediterranean Greens- the first few times I ordered this, it was amazing. It had the right ratio of sauce (hummus and cucumber basil dressing), had 4 pieces of falafel which are tiny but good, and a lot of veggies. However, most recently, something was off. The cucumber basil was overpowering. I'll order it again but make sure the sauce squirted is limited. Service- usually good at busy times. When you go in and they are slow, the service is awful. Yesterday they forgot to put the broth in my soup. The woman working the POS was less than happy to be there and it was evident-I totally understand this but it impacted her attentiveness. I want to give them more stars because I love their food, however their service and cleanliness is absolutely horrendous. To be clear I frequent core (this one and other locations) because I enjoy their food and they have plenty of healthy options. I prefer their other locations over this one because this one seems to always look like a bomb was dropped on their food assembly line. For example we went last night half of the products on the line seemed to be empty and the girls assembling the food were not refilling the food prep station, just picking what they could out of the empty dishes. I even requested more beans as the portion I got seemed very light (maybe 12 black beans) and she continued to dig through the already empty pan and pull out an additional 8 in four scoop attempts rather then get another pan of beans. They also forgot to add bbq sauce to my dish which was one of the main ingredients that kind of makes the dish so was a little disappointed about that when I realized afterwards. Was grateful I didn't order steak last night because their meat cutting station was absolutely ridiculous, maybe 25 ends and pieces of meat tossed everywhere all around the board, just looked like someone was being super lazy and not picking up the entire place. They had plenty of workers available and was a slow night as we were the only guests in line, just no one was cleaning up or refilling the prep stations, they really need to get ahold of this as their service and cleanliness is a huge factor in if I will return. I will continue to drive to other locations and not come back here unless I am desperate or happen to be right there. read more

The folks behind the counter seemed panicked because it was busy when I arrived. I ordered the sriracha tofu green bowl, with an extra chicken protein. They left off the chicken. But the worst part was the sriracha. They dumped like half a cup of straight sriracha on what amounted to a small salad, and then tossed it. I like spicy, but sriracha is not a salad dressing. I would come here again because the seating is plentiful and the atmosphere is good, and the ingredients quality is top notch. But id watch my order preparation much more closely. read more

Usually I have great experiences with this restaurant, the last couple times it's been kinda horrific. For the visit that made me trigger this review, the ac was broken. The obviously new staff took a super long time to write our non customized orders that were directly from the menu. When I told her I wanted the green bowl (there's a grain and green version) and I said green and she kinda stared at me for a minute; then asked again. The next lady scooping on the tofu, scooped on the tofu, along with two pieces of steak and tried to scoop them away when I wasn't looking. Being a vegan this repulsed me and I asked to have my bowl remade, and she said; you want it.... remade? And I said yes and she continued to stare for a moment. Then made it. But half way through asks if I want beets, I say yes, exactly how it is on the menu last time, the beets weren't the problem, the steak was. She said okay after another moment. She then proceeded to make the rest of the bowl correctly. My mother who was in front of me got one of the dairy based dressings, which half a scoop got into the carrot chili vinaigrette, which is labeled as vegan. After all of this I just paid for it and gave it to my brother because I didn't feel like eating all the cross contamination. This restaurant used to be good, what happened? Amazing production line prepares your food right in front of you. Expect nothing but healthy food and drinks here...no soda (unless you select a naturally sweetened one). There are a variety of drinks in dispensers you can select everything from beet lemonade to cold pressed coffee. Today my soup wasn't that hot and as a result I didn't finish the bottom of it. A woman came to my table and asked why I didn't finish it when she collected my tray. When I told her she came back with a takeout container of chicken broth with an apology. With this type of ordering, it's tough to know what toppings are an additional cost and what are included. The broth is really good and I want to go back to try a broth bowl as a meal. For some reason, I really wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. I mean, I expected it to be good, but it was fantastic. A friend told me I had to check it out, and we went for lunch. I decided to order from the menu (vs. creating my own meal) and chose the shiitake mushroom and roasted tofu bowl. It was SO flavorful, all the textures were great, and it was filling. The bonus was the freshly grated ginger. I also tried the cucumber basil lemonade and blueberry mint lemonade, and these were without a doubt the best lemonades I've had: tart, refreshing, and very nicely flavored. I will definitely be back for more because there are so many good (and cheap!) vegetarian options. Fast forward to now and every time I order online I get home and something is missing or an ingredient is incorrect. Today, I went inside through the line because I couldn't figure out how to use a gift card online (I don't think it's possible to). I went to a Yelp event with my husband and we all had the Korean BBQ Pork Bowl. We were also given a taste of each of the bone broth, veggie, beef and chicken. The chicken broth tasted like a turkey dinner, this was my favorite. The food is really good but BEWARE if you are ordering for pickup as odds are highly likely they will leave something out, specifically the salad dressing. But it could be the brussel sprouts, it could be the bread, it could be the parmesan crisps. (We order for takeout at least once a week and probably 75% of the time something is missing.) You also have to watch like a hawk in-store to be sure they get it right. One time my mom's chicken salad made it to the end of the assembly line with no chicken - had to point out that there was NO CHICKEN. No apologies or anything, just a grunt. Also have to remind them IN-STORE to include the salad dressing! So irritating for the price paid that employees have to be supervised by customers. I always fill out their after-order opinion form and when I've pointed out something that I PAID FOR was left out, there's never an offer of compensation or anything, just a lame, canned apology. Decided on lemonade to drink, but couldn't settle on a flavor at first(they have at least 4-5 different kinds). Employee recognized my dilemma and encouraged me to try a taste of each. I've eaten here a few times. I love the food. Usually the staff is friendly. My husband and I went in last night and the experience has completely changed. It seemed as though maybe some new people were prepping the bowls, and I understand that, but we felt uninvited the entire time we were here. We were patient when my order was made wrong. I went along with it because it wasn't anything too major. I wasn't offered bread with my to-go order (which I usually am, and come on, it's good bread. I hate to miss it!). I work right across the street from Core and I have to say this is probably one of my favorite restaurants to date. Very modern, food is always fresh, fast service, great drinks, and tons of vegetarian/gluten free options. My favorite salad is the Steak Bacon and Bleu - would highly recommend to anyone who is a little nervous about trying this place out for the first time. Non existent customer service !! Went there today with my parents. VERY CONFUSING ordering process and what to do. The teenage counter help seemed to be bothered in answering our questions on how to order etc. And when they did attempt to explain things it was a quick hurried "explanation".. No one that cooked or brought the food to the counter questioned this ? Really ??? Training the teenagers that if they restaurant wants repeat business they need to take some time and help people out who have never been here before.
