First of all, when entering we were greeted warmly with gratitude. I had the fried whiting with baked beans and collard greens. $17.58 There were 2 large pieces of golden brown fish that were crunchy on the outside and meaty inside. The fish was also lightly breaded and seasoned. Just delicious, now the baked beans were cookout ready; sweet and savory. Now the collards are not seasoned the traditional southern soulful way, but satisfying. To drink I a surprising satisfying childhood flashback, Red Kool Aid. Sweetened perfectly. Last but not least, the "rice pudding". OMG !! Somebody's grandma had to make it. The rice pudding was sweet, but not sugary just had that old fashioned southern taste.

Welcoming staff make you feel at home. There are huge jugs of water, koolaid and sweet tea that you help yourself to. Fried chicken and fish dominate the menu. I ordered the dark meat chicken with collards and Mac and cheese as my two sides. They started us with a biscuit which was just ok but no dish to put it on. Chicken was served right out of the fryer and was not at all greasy. Sides were flavorful. Many desserts available in to go containers. Very casual place with a good vibe.

My mom had heard about this place and couldn't find it when looking for it. Luckily, on our way back to Richmond, we were able to locate it. Tucked into the corner of a hotel, This staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The space itself gives the church multipurpose room on Sunday evening, no frills, communal drink station in the side room. We ordered some of the most common dishes, fried chicken, candied yams, mac and cheese with collard greens. There are no more biscuits, there are pillowy yeast rolls instead. Evening was delicious, except the macaroni and cheese.... it was odd, like it was a mix of box and homemade, leaning closer to the former. On the way out, we were mesmerized by the lemon creme cake. Omg, it was so good, I wish I could've taken a slice back to NYC. I know my mom will take my dad here soon.

Nice decor and very clean restaurant. In the area and we decided to given Corey's Chicken Shack a try. The employees were very nice and friendly. I ordered the chicken dinner- which was delicious. I had two pieces of fried chicken with collard greens and yams.

We were looking for a quick lunch after shopping at the outlets and are so glad we chose Corey's Chicken Shack. Everyone we interacted with were so kind and the food is beyond amazing. It reminded me of the food we had during Sunday family dinners with all the family sitting at the dining room table at home. We had the white chicken platter and the seafood platter - both came with two sides and a really delicious biscuit. We chose the Mac & cheese/potato salad (that tasted exactly like my moms)/collards/green beans. It's connected to a hotel so there's plenty of parking. It's not a fancy place but when the food is that good, you don't have to be fancy! We will def be stopping by every time we are in Williamsburg.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!!! Okay I had to do it! But in all seriousness it really was some juicy crunchy chicken and yummy sides! Here is the breakdown of what we ordered: The 8 piece chicken dinner which comes with two large sides and 4 rolls. Chicken came out piping hot and instead of 4 rolls we got two large biscuits, which were light and fluffy and also straight out of the oven! I'll take biscuits any day over rolls. The man who dropped them off to our table also included butter, jelly and honey. Perfect! The fried chicken was nice and juicy and a good seasoning on the crispy skin. Macaroni & cheese-very yummy and just the right amount of cheese for me. Coleslaw-very good! Potato salad-.good! They only offer lemonade, sweet tea and kool-aid. We had the lemonade and it was delicious. On the sweet side so be prepared. Will be back!

Not a very flashy building during the day and was hard to see building while driving up street. Pleanty of parking in a gravel/sandy lot with some pot holes filled with rain water. There is handicap parking with a ramp next to front door. Was greeted and seated immediately by Raven which took our drink order of a water and a sweet tea. There is a full bar with some tap beers. Raven gave us several minutes to look over menu before returning and answering a few questions. I was interested in wings which Raven pointed out were on special this Wednesday at $1 each, minimum of 10. Cheaper than the plate of 8 I was going to order. I went for this with a side of onion rings. My wife ordered the Freedom Philly with cole slaw. The food came out in good time served in red plastic baskets lined with paper. My wife enjoyed her philly and the slaw which is mayonaise based and seasoned well to our liking. The smoked wings came out hot and seasoned with medium wing sauce as requested. The chicken wings are some of the larger ones I have ever been served. My onion rings came out hot, lightly battered and tasting good. At 1:30 in middle of week there were only a few other tables occupied. Raven was the only server and was maintaining service well. She came back and checked on us several times. If we are in area again this could be a stop.

Rocco's Smokehouse kept popping up when we searched for places to eat, so we decided to give it a shot. We weren't really in the mood for barbecue, and they only had ONE steak option, but the menu looked so interesting that we figured, why not? There was about a 15-20 minute wait, which immediately had me thinking, "Okayyy, maybe we made the right choice!" The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had a great vibe. IMPORTANT: Navigation took us to the wrong location, so pay close attention to the Yelp directions. Rocco's is currently operating from a temporary location. Once we were seated, our waiter was right over to take our drink order. First things first--the sweet tea is MAGNIFICENT! And let me tell you what you NEED to order: Smoked barbecue wings -- MUST ORDER -- absolutely get it! Rocco actually brought it to our table and warned us that we would be hooked and he was right! I originally wanted the lump crab cakes, but I didn't see anyone else ordering them, so I took my waiter's recommendation and went with the brisket quesadillas. GREAT decision! They were juicy, flavorful, and downright scrumptious. My partner ordered Platter #3, which came with ribs, a quarter chicken, and pork barbecue. The chicken was his favorite--he could not stop talking about it! You could really taste that smoky flavor in the meat. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good too. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by Rocco's. We went in craving steak and left talking about smoked wings, chicken, brisket, and barbecue! Would I go back? Absolutely! And next time, those crab cakes are getting ordered! #WilliamsburgVA #WilliamsburgEats #VirginiaFoodie #RoccosSmokehouse #Foodie #YelpEats #BBQ #FoodReview #VirginiaRestaurants

First impression NOISY. This place is loud. High ceilings and open dining area makes the voices reverberate throughout the woke restaurant. The BBQ was ok, chicken dried out and the pork only average. Their sauce was the perfect blend of sweet with just the right about of spice. The place was clean and the service was decent. Not a bad bbq place but definitely has room for improvement.

After she…read morecame home from a hair appointment, we traveled here to an area of Williamsburg that we've never been to before. For the most part, it's street parking where we found a very good spot and restaurants and stores galore. Let's see how this spot turned out for us. Inside, the decor is very nice. They have a few tables inside and plenty in the outside patio. It's basically a spot that's takeout but if want to dine-in, that's totally fine. And they serve Kung Fu Tea, one of our favorite guilty pleasures that unfortunately closed near us months ago. After a few minutes, we ordered at the counter. Along with a large Strawberry Milk slush, I selected a 5 piece tender combo with a side of crinkle fries. First off, the slush was pretty good. At 50% sugar with boba pearls, it hit the sweet spot very well. It felt like old times when we used to order KFT often. But, the chicken combo itself was underwhelmimg. The food came out hot and ready, but the tenders were tough to break apart either by biting into it or with your hands if you dipped in any of their sauces. Sophia ordered a chicken sandwich and wasn't impressed, saying eating a Chick-Fil-A sandwich is better. That says a lot. I did take some home to eat for leftovers, but like earlier, could've been better. Not to put any bad press on the business, but it was disappointing. Again, it's basically a takeout spot and one for KFT admirers like us. We will come back only for that reason the next time we're around.
