Was looking for a place for dinner stumble on this restaurant, at first, I was a little skeptical because it's located in a shopping plaza. We went on a Saturday night. I had reservation for 730. We got there at 7:15. We were seated right away. Hostess was nice and pleasant. Our waitress was Lauren. She was nice. I feel that she could've been a little bit more attentive we had a basket of bread and olive oil, with Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes for dipping. we ordered our apps which didn't take long to come out then followed by our dinner place was crowded, noisy open kitchen concept. Funny, but very good restaurant in a typical Massachusetts strip mall. Parking can be dicey, as the strip mall is on a corner of two major roads... so I've seen a lot of people flying through, driving through the parking lots and larger delivery trucks flying through. We've been here before and it's been good but with the pandemic, they seats are socially distanced so we were basically way far away from the restaurant on a sidewalk but you can't blame them for that. There was no music where we were because we were so far away. Anyways, waitstaff was very nice and the artichoke appetizer that we've had before was super tasty. The entrees needed a little help with salt and cheese, once we gave it some help it was much better. Entrees aren't cheap so they should be seasoned well. They were made with fresh pasta but if you dont season the pasta, it's going to taste like flour and eggs. I'm personally getting tired of being rushed out of a restaurant or the food not tasting like it should from a higher end restaurant. They did not rush us out which I give kudos to them for that but we had reservations at 7:00 by the time we left around 8:15'ish, it was mostly empty. First time we went to Corfinio, we absolutely loved it! We had the spaghetti and meatball and chicken parm; we played it save and it was delicious! The service was great and atmosphere was top notch. We went back about a month later and I was heartbroken that the food was not as good the second time around. The service and atmosphere were still great but the food rating was closer to 1.5 star. We had their seafood platter (which was a special) and the shrimp and calamari were extremely overcooked. We also ordered a meatball pizza, I loved the meatballs from their pasta dish and the pizzas looked so good. Unfortunately, this was such a disappointment. The pizza has small pieces of ground meat, I would not describe it as meatballs, and the pizza was very overcooked. Overall, it was not an enjoyable meal and although we tried to enjoy it because again, we love the vibes, the food was a fail this time. We'll give it another try to make our final decision on Corfinio but I'm hesitant to go back after our last visit. read more

We pulled into the plaza across the street from Hilliards Chocolates. We saw Corfinio's Italian Wood Fired Kitchen. We pulled in and parked and noticed it was just opening. We saw that they had outdoor seating so there was a chance our dog Maggie might be able to join us. We met our hostess and she told us we can take any open table. We asked about Maggie and she said the restaurant was dog friendly. I got Maggie and our hostess got to pat her. I don't know who was more excited, Maggie or our hostess. Our waitress Claudia came over. She was very excited to see Maggie. She went to get water for our dog first before coming back for our water­. Claudia handed us our menu's and began to talk about her dog experiences and how she lives dogs. We listened intently as we looked over what to eat. I have never seen crispy Brussel sprouts before or fried Artichokes. I did not know what Terry was looking for in her meal. I looked up at Claudia and she was talking about how she and her boyfriend were dog sitting for her brother. She then stopped after she noticed I was looking at her. She asked, "Do you have any questions?" I answered "Nope" and she continued on about her brother. The Cod BLT looked good as well as the Mortadella. I looked over at Terry and mentioned I saw the Mortadella (one of her favorite types of meat). What is Mortadella? Mortadella (Italian pronunciation: [mortadlla]) is a large Italian sausage or luncheon meat made of finely hashed or ground heat-cured pork, which incorporates at least 15% small cubes of pork fat (principally the hard fat from the neck of the pig). It is traditionally flavored with black pepper grains, but modern versions can also contain pistachios or, more rarely, myrtle berries. Terry's childhood was raised around the Italian kitchen and Mortadella was a staple and a fond memory. Terry and I started to have a conversation about how hungry we were. Terry and I are also Foodies (people who have interest in food). We try to order food that we would not make at home. Terry and continued looking at the rest of the menu while our conversation expanded on what to eat. Pasta was next. The Ricotta Cavatelli caught my eye along with the Norcia. Terry was fond on the Bolognese but passed when she saw the Spaghetti al Limone. We then looked at pizzas. Along with desserts. Terry was quite as she looked at the menu and then I realized I missed the salads. I love roasted Beet salad. Terry is a fan of Olives. I suggested to Terry we order two salads and appetizers. I suggested we try something new (thinking this would be great to have something to write about. She agreed. We ordered the crispy calamari, fried Artichokes, crispy Brussel Sprouts, Italian Grinder Stromboli (has the Mortadella in it), Beet and Mediterranean salads. Claudia asked us what order to server the food. Terry and I agreed that the appetizers com out first and then the salads. We were drinking water, so Claudia came back with a pitcher of water. Claudio brought out the oven fresh Focaccia bread (still hot) with the Olive Oil, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, table pepper and chili pepper flakes. I have to say, this bread was to die for. It was amazing. Up next was the crispy calamari. The marinara sauce was not heavy at all. I really liked the pepperoncini with the sauce. The arugula, parmigiana Reggiano balanced this entire dish out. It was flavorful and the calamari was tender. Instead of ordering a full plate of Artichokes and Brussel Sprouts. Our waitress Claudia asked the chef to split the dish. I will tell you now that I am not a big fan of these two items. I dived into the Brussel Sprouts because the cherry pepper aioli was outstanding. What surprised me even more with the fried Artichokes. The lemon aioli sauce that was underneath the crispy goodness was great. Terry was enjoying this plate and commented on both sauces as well. Next came the Stromboli. The Focaccia bread that I was eating earlier had now turned into the Stromboli. I really liked the texture and appreciated the burnt edges from the wood fire baking. This was delicious. My beet salad came out and I forgot to take a picture of this first (sorry). The crispy fried shallots brought this dish up. The creamy green goddess dressing and shaved parmigiana Reggiano finished the plate. Terry was in olive heaven when she was served her salad. Terry told me the pine nuts, basil vinaigrette and artichokes complimented the feta cheese and olives. She enjoyed this dish. Terry and I finished all the food. We were full. We are going back for lunch in the future. The dinner menu and lunch menu are different AND seasonal. I like it when restaurants change the menu frequently. Except for the fact that the hostess took us to a cramped, out-of-the way table despite our early reservation, the service was very good. Claire was our server, and she knew the menu well. We split a Caesar salad which was fresh-tasting. I had the caccio e pepe which was very good with a little extra Romano cheese. My husband had the chicken parm. and approved of the chicken. The dessert menu had many good choices but we were unable to eat any more. I would recommend this place for its food. It's a bit pricey but it was worth it. Hungry and new to the area 3 years ago, I stumble upon this restaurant with my younger brother. Ever so often, we would come here if we're in the area. Food is delicious, especially their pasta dishes. Sandwiches and fries are good, even as left over for the next day. Ambience is classy yet you can dress casual for lunch time. I love their rustic interior design so whomever designed the simplex rustic look, good job. Plenty of parking and never had any issues with servers. Too bad there's nothing around the area to make it worth it. I rather go to North End if I was go on a date or a big girls night out. This is a sad tale. But at this point I think we are sticking a fork in this place. Three and done. Been on the decline since the first time we went here. 90 mile ride for a meal it needs to be above standard. This is not the case with this place. We first saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and we were inclined to make the ride to try it out. Second visit was on Mother's Day, May 13, 2018. It was meh at best. Maybe an off night because it was a holiday meal? Was it a disappointment, yes but we decided that it might have been a fluke. Bring us to tonight. Went on to Open Table and every reservation time was available. That was a major red flag. When we knew we were going to be late I went on to Open Table to modify the reservation and still all time slots were available. I should have known given this was a Saturday night. For appetizers we ordered the meatballs, rice balls and caprease. Meatballs had to be sent back as they were cold in the center. For entree's we had 3 chicken parms which all thought were bland and just not good. I got the risotto special. It had four VERY SMALL scallops and risotto that as well was bland and over cooked. Manager and the chef came over. Told us he personally didn't make the meal so he wasn't sure what happened. They comp'd the entire check. 90 miles for this meal was an utter disappointment. Ordered to go. Was truly looking forward to this meal. With Covid - 21 raging I haven't been going out at all. I think I am becoming afraid. This is never going to end. There will be other strains and viruses. They are winning LOL. Anyways my friend was there waiting for the food to come out so you'd think the food would have been hot as we only live 5 minutes away. Here is the rundown. The "Crispy Calamari" appetizer was soggy beyond belief. They just ruined it. $14 bucks boom down the drain. And the to go container was way to big for the portion to boot. The Yellow fin tuna with fettuccini alfredo as a side was basically a special order and that was really good not amazing but real good. The peperoni pizza and spinach and ricotta pizza were ice cold. This type of thin wood fried pizza needs to be hot to hold up. I know its 24 degrees out and the pies are real thin but I was disappointed. Obviously still edible as pizza always is. I guess if I wasn't lazy I would have thrown them on the rack to reheat and crisp but I didn't. Tomato soup for nana. For 9 bucks no way not even close to worth it. She said "ech" and I tossed it but in fairness at 83 I know her buds are cooked ... still $9 for a bowl of soup should have gold flakes in it or something. The Tiramisu was excellent and the complimentary bread provided was also delicious but they should have included some garlic and oil or butter pads. I had to provide that. So that was how my 100 gift card was spent. I love the reviews here and obviously when we go someday lord willing I am sure I will enjoy. In short I think the food here is probably best enjoyed on premise Maybe we had some timing problems or there was some other screwup with the order sitting I dont know. Came here on a random whim with my family and we had a great time. We sat outside on the patio, despite us being a cool day we were quite comfortable with the space heater. The food was phenomenal. We started with the Brussels sprouts, I had the cacio e pepe which was creamy and has a nice kick from the pepper. The pasta was the perfect texture and must be homemade. My husband had the salmon which was served with broccoli rabe and rhubarb, he said it was the best salmon he may have ever had. I can confirm the bite I had was delightful. We finished the meal with dessert and I shared bread pudding with my husband, we savored every last bite. Our server was nice and attentive, I would surely come back here in an instant. This place is great. It's the best food and service within a several town radius. Tonight we had the swordfish special, pasta with scallops, and cocktails to go with them. All were great. Joe was our waiter and he was as genuine and attentive as they come. Really good experience. We'll keep coming back for all of our special occasions. So we've given this place a few chances and I can honestly say I'm done. The three stars are for the atmosphere/decor/layout. The service has yet to be good, the food has been hit and Miss but never and I mean NEVER worth the prices they charge! I mean $52 for a filet mignonette.....this isn't the city, and you sure as hell aren't Abe & Louis! My man got the gnocchi which was very bland and quite frankly tasted like they dumped a can of cream of broccoli on it. We always order wings for an app....these were the tiniest wings I've ever seen and nothing like Cibo Matto which we were told was the same recipe. We waited 45 min for our meals with 1 visit from the waitress....no explanation, apology ....not even a chance to order another drink while we waited. My boyfriend and I ate here for Valentine's Day this year. We made a reservation online with Open Table which is always nice and easy. They called a few days before the reservation to confirm and check for any food allergies. Corfino is easy to find and has a very classy interior. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. When we were seated they brought out delicious bread with olive oil for dipping. I really wanted to love the rest of the food for these reasons but unfortunately the food was a let down. We ordered calamari for our appetizer which came out very quickly but I believe it had been sitting as it was room-temp. The calamari was very tough and it was a small portion for $14 dollars. For our mains I ordered the cavatelli tartufo e funghi and Dillon ordered the fettuccine Alli bolognese. My dish was just ok - nothing special. Dillon however loved his bolognese but wished it was a bit bigger in size. We also decided to order some dessert. Since it is an Italian restaurant I decided to order the Tiramisu. Unfortunately, it was not good. It was mostly lady fingers (which were hard) and very little cream filling. Dillon ordered the creme brûlée which he actually loved. Our meal was $114 which it was not worth. However, I do realize that Valentine's Day is one of the worst days to eat out on in the year so I would not completely discount this restaurant. read more
